Publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst commissioned the Warwick in 1926 for his sweetheart, Marion Davies, and their multitude of film and theatre friends. Today, the hotel’s vintage Hollywood style is still reflected throughout. Classic cocktails are shaken and stirred in Randolph’s timeless living room-style lounge with cozy sofas and armchairs. Original murals from 1937 are combined with contemporary touches in Murals on 54, which serves Chef Robert Hohmann’s traditional American breakfast and brunch, designer sandwiches, and hot lunch entrées. Murals on 54 - Designed by Pierre Court, highly acclaimed for his work on sites such as the Plaza Athénée Hotel in Paris, this restaurant is enriched with ornate 1930s-era murals by American illustrator Dean Cornwell. Your palate will also be pleased by American breakfast, weekend brunch, and lunch dishes prepared by Chef Robert Hohmann.

"Good Location"
Our stay at the Warwick was a satifactory one as we did not stay long in our hotel room. When we arrived, the lobby was quite nicely decorated, but the hotel rooms need to be renovated. The furniture is worn and the carpet was not the cleanest. Upon arrival our phone and tv did not work. We called and they said they would send someone up and 2.5 hours […] later when we returned the items were still not fixed. "Step in to my parlor..."
From the moment I entered the lobby I knew I had made the right choice for my friend's birthday weekend celebration. As it was her first time in NYC I wanted her to experience classic elegance. The Warwick was perfect. The glistening marble and crystal chandeliers in the lobby were beautiful. The bar was inviting with dark wood and leather seats, but […] don't go there for a bargain. Do go in though, and sip a perfect martini and breathe in the sophisticated ambiance afforded by the Warwick. New York State does serve alcohol until NOON on Sundays. We did not dine in the restaurant so cannot offer any comments there, yet the marghariti pizza in the bar was so delicious we ordered one each day. If you have never been to Manhattan the location of the Warwick is ideal. Midtown has easy access to theatres, Central Park, MoMA, TImes Square and much more. Book a tour to take in all the sites without having to drive but do take a subway ride! Also, exit the hotel to the left and there is a Manolo Blahnick shoe boutique. No marquee. It is a treasure. I had to return but my friends enjoyed themselves SO much they stayed two extra days. The staff at the Warwick were polite, prompt and efficient.They are there to serve you. I would stay there again without hesitation. Our room was perfectly clean. I did find a little card in the room that indicated a coffee pot was available by request ( a Starbucks is just across the street). The room was tastefully done, but very cramped. You didn't want to sit and relax there. Interior rooms have ugly view of brick buildings adding to claustrophobic feeling. The location of this mid-town hotel is great. The service however is tired, lazy or arrogant. On checking in the receptionist looked up only once from her computer and talked to me while staring at her screen during the whole check in process, to the ectent that I had to ask her if she was directing her questions at me or talking to someone else. However, the neighborhood, in the past 15 yrs, has become overwhelming with the blocks of square, high steel and glass buildings they have constructed between 6th and 8th Avenues. "Very nice hotel with perfect location"
My girlfriends and I stayed at the Warwick for the long weekend. We were all very satisfied with this hotel, we had no complaints and I would definitely stay here again. We had 2 twin rooms with interior view (looking into a wall) but that did not matter because the interior rooms were VERY QUIET and even with the jet lag (flying in from Europe) we […] slept like babies:-) The room was spacious, very clean and the beds were so comfortable, and the best; they had a duvet/down quilt which I like since I come from chilly Norway. The bed pillows were also very nice (a little big for me) but if you don´t like it you can ask for a smaller/softer pillow. Every day we got a 15 min free of charge internet access in the lobby and boarding passes can be printed free of charge. I did not eat at any of the restaurants so I can´t comment on them but they both looked nice. Last but not least - the staff was nice and friendly and the location is PERFECT!!! I ärlighetens namn hade vi nog inte bokat på The Warwick om vi INTE fått halva priset. Om vi nu bortser från dessa faktorer så var vi MYCKET nöjda […] med vår vistelse.
