Per the other reviews, I was expecting a dark hotel with dark rooms. The lobby of the hotel is dimmed but romantic, however our room had generous amounts of lighting. The bathroom even had a table in front of a mirror to put my makeup/hair supplies. The front desk staff were exceptionally nice and our overall stay was great! The only small issues we […] came across were 1) on our last night, we couldn't get the small light above our bed to turn off 2) the air temp was always off, no matter what temperature we put it on. 3) we were told a courtside view (which is a view of a very ugly alley). I booked a fireplace suite - but couldn't light the fireplace because it was 48 degress out - and the hotel won't light the fireplace above 45 degrees. All that extra money for nothing. I didn't see that policy listed here on Hotels.com, only on the Royalton's website AFTER I booked a non-refundable reservation. The hotel lobby itself is beautiful, […] but the rooms are looking a litte tired and the hallway smelled like fireplace smoke (ironic since I was told itwas too warm to light the fireplace??!!). Housekeeping forgot to put sheets back on our bed the second night, and the minbar was $17.00 for a bottle of WATER!!!! If you need water, do yourself a favor and go around the corner to the Duane Reed and pick up a case. The staff was very friendly and accommodating though. Read more

The Royalton Hotel was fantastic. The lobby was so beautiful and cozy. It was nice sitting near the fireplace and having a cocktail after being out in the cold weather. The rooms were really nice. We loved the iPad in the room. The location was great. Right near Times Square and Rock Center. I would stay here again.

We had a lovely experience at the Royalton. Once we entered the hotel, it was an automatic "He picked a great hotel, finally!" and a quick call to my dad that my partner was not cheap for not having chosen the Waldorf. The service was great, the room was fabulous, very chic and close to everything we wanted to see. We were upgraded on arrival, and entered […] a fabulous room with a glorious bed to sleep in. The room had a large bathroom, a vanity mirror with lights, a rain shower head and (Malin+Goetz) bath products (which I proudly stashed away to get more). The room also had a fire place (not operational) and candles in the room and bathroom. The hotel also offers an Ipad which you could order complimentary products they offered (as I did frequently). I was able to get an electronic scale, a robe, shaver and shaving cream, ear plugs, turn down service, and 6 extra pillows (down feathered and foam) with out charge via the Ipad. The hotel gym is also noteworthy, state of the art touch screen gym equipment with cable t.v. already loaded, free weights, balance balls all within a chic room. I enjoyed my stay as much I enjoyed the hotel room service and restaurant which served delicious courses. Its a perfect place to bring friends over to have drinks, which I must say are pretty great. Over all a best bet for the price, service, location, and comfort of the glorious bed. Really a QUALITY hotel. Read more

The Royalton is a decent option for accommodation in Midtown. Pretty close to everything you need, with Grand Central and Bryan Park subways within easy walking distance. We stayed for a weekend in Jan 2012 and the hotel condition and room were both fine. The bed was not too comfortable (rock hard, actually) and the room, like most NYC rooms, wasn't […] very big but for us it was fine since we spent most of our time outside. It was noisy outside in the street in the early hours of the morning which affected our sleep a little but for two nights we could deal with it., Overall this hotel is OK. Not my first choice in Midtown, but if nothing else is available and the rate is good, this hotel is a viable option. Read more

I had only one problem with the hotel and that is the picture on hotels.com showed a big red door when I arrived there was no big red door there was a big door but it was black other than that it was one of the best hotels I ever stayed at oh one more thing itbwas a bit pricey so be prepared to spend some money (giggles)

Only one word can describe this hotel immaculate. The hotel was spotless,well-designed and in a great location. The room was extremely well designed and comfortable not to mention clean. The bed was so soft I didn't want to go home the next day. Prob the nicest room I have stayed in period... I mean come one it came with an iPad. The Royalton greets you with unassuming front door that automatically opens into a cosmopolitan lobby and bar lounge. The staff was helpful and the rooms are nicely appointed. It's quite expensive, but the location in midtown really cannot be beat. Our room, with queen bed was modern and sleek, but with annoying bathroom features, such as no bath, limited […] counter space, a weird place for the facial soap and poor lighting. But the shower was great and spacious. Also, it does annoy me that there is no refrigerator space for your own beverages and that you have to call down for ice and there's no self-serve ice option. My final complaint are the elevators: slow, small and sterile in lighting and design. However, we did enjoy our stay, as the beds were comfortable, the TV and iPad were nice touches and the bar made you feel like you were in a cool NYC locale - which we were. Read more

Very swanky! Perfect for a 15 year wedding anniversary. Might just be a little too cool for us in coming years. Lobby was awesome. Rooms, small but cute--felt a little like a cruise ship. Air condition/heating system loud and sometimes made a loud thumping noise. Central to everything.

Hotel fabulous, two blocks from times square so easy location. Room on 15th floor so quiet, air conditioned and big. Not sure of purpose of the iPad in the room, only gave hotel info but couldn't use it for Internet use. Would highly recommend the hotel for location, friendliness of staff and luxury comfort.

The hotel deserves it's 4 stars. It is very nice, modern, clean and perfectly located in midtown Manhattan. The rooms are very comfortable, and the showers are amazing. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The only issues we had were the elevators being extremely slow, but they did leave a note in the room saying they were working on improving that, […] so that shouldn't be an issue in the future. Also, it would have been nice to have a coffee machine in the room. Most hotels have these and provide complimentary coffee to their guests. Other than those two minor things, the hotel was great. There was no ability to get any food on arrival, there was a complete lack of initiative or service offering that one should expect from any hotel, let alone a hotel of the reputed quality and reputation of The Royalton; a 4-star hotel in the heart of New York. The experience was a poor one all round. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone nor would […] I stay here ever again. We choose our hotels based on comfort, quality of service and friendliness or staff. We pay good money in the hope that we at least get partially satisfied against this criteria. A very stylish and welcomingly unusual hotel. We had a loft suite which was spacious and very comfortable. We didn't eat at the hotel as there were many excellent restaurants close and less expensive. Well positioned in Mid town near to Times Square.

Oppholdet var meget bra, ingen ting å utsette på hotell Royalton. Vi hadde oppgradert rommet litt og det var meget stort og flott. Stort bad med glass dusj, fliser i gang og bad. Veg til veg teppe i stue og soverom som var rent og pent. Ipad på rommet for alle hotellet tjenester, du kunne til og med bestille drikke og mat der til bestemt leveringstid […] og de var alltid presis. Hotellets dør mann var veldig hjelpsom hvis vi trengte vei forklaring og taxi. Hotellet lå super sentralt. Kan trygt anbefalle dette hotellet til alle. Read more

Det var en chansning, trots många resor till Manhattan hade vi aldrig hört talas om Royalton - men nu rekommenderar vi det varmt. Rummet var helt ok, strikt och nästan kliniskt men väldesignat - men det var lobbyn som vi älskade mest. Kolla bilderna så förstår du, och det är ännu läckrare i verkligheten.

Reisen begynte med at bagasjen vår ikke kom på flyplassen. Vel fremme på hotellet fikk vi alt fra tannkost til tamponger helt gratis av hotellet da de så at vi ikke hadde fått bagasjen. Til og med rettetang hadde de til låns. Førsteinntrykket holdt seg gjennom uken. Hver gang vi lurte på noe i resepsjonen hev de seg rundt og gjorde så godt de kunne […] for å ordne opp. Billetter til et utsolgt Broadway-show fikset de også. At et så fint hotell kan ligge så sentralt til(2 minutters gange til Times Square), ha den servicen og i tillegg være så billig er fortsatt et mysterium for oss! Read more

O serviço de quarto é impecável e oferece todas as amenidades que precisamos. Limpeza excelente, cama confortável e quarto com tamanho espaçoso. O banheiro tem box de vidro e é espaçoso […] também. Tem iPad disponível em todos os quartos. Localização é ótima também, a duas quadras dos principais teatros e de restaurantes. Muito seguro para caminhadas noturnas a pé até o hotel.
