The hotel itself is beautiful. I was surprised to see the rate on Hotels.com and booked the opportunity immediately. When I arrived i was greeted and quickly escorted to the check in line. I was upgraded and arrived in my room. The room was amazing, clean and comfortable. The in Hotel steak house on the other hand was a huge disappointment. The Bull […] and Bear? I sat at the bar and waited for the bartender to realize that there was a new customer. Although very friendly, he was a little slow on the uptake. Having to ask multiple times what I ordered for a drink, and when I ordered my petite fillet without the blu cheese, guess what came on it... I did not have time to wait for another so I ate the perfectly cooked beef with the lovely hint (I dislike blu cheese) of the cheese. I will fo course stay at this magnificent relic of a hotel again given the opportunity, I think they need to get to their roots, and remember what made them the #1 hotel a millenium ago. Read more

The Hotel itself was great. I had a problem when checking In. They could not locate my gold card. The person that checked me in was not very accomodating and rude. My only major issue was I did not have a closet in which to hang my clothing. Overall the experience in all other areas was great.

Only issue was old carpeting gave me allergy issues in the room but rest was fantastic. Older crowd (45-70) in the bars but cant beat the location and old NY flavor

I thought the rate from hotel.com was decent. However, both my daughter and I have feather allergies. We called well in advanced to be sure the room was feather free. In addition, I am a Hilton Honors guest and my profile states that I require a feather free room. We drove 4 hours to NYC, and had to wait 1/2 hour after checking in because our "room […] was not feather free ready." Disappointing. We were tired and had to get ready for a Metropolitan Opera performance and dinner before--so we were rushed. Also, I could not believe that it cost for an 8 oz. bottle of water was more than what I have paid for T-shirts--outrageous. Beds were EXTRA, EXTRA comfortable. Read more

The location of the Waldorf can not be beat. The staff and the accommodation where wonderful. My only complaint was there is no coffee maker in the room and a cup of joe in the lobby was $$$. I liked that the elevators have security measures after 6pm you must have an active room key to go upstairs.

Stayed at the Waldorf to complete the NYC experience. We were located in the older part of the hotel..which needed some facelift. The room is good; the double beds were double..not queen. The hotel is a historic landmark, but I just don't know why the management has to gouge customers at every opportunity. $18 drinks in the bar, $8 bottles of water in the mini-bar, it was just ridiculous.

The Waldorf was an amazing place with a lot of history and prestige. I was happy with my stay. You should expect the rooms to be a little dated, but they have made some updates in the bathrooms and it was very clean.

For history buffs, this place is great with pictures on the walls of everyone famous who's stayed. Great finishing in the lobby with a real 1950's feel. Great location to all mid-town activity. We were able to walk to our event at Carnegie Hall. Hotel lobby is still very classy although very busy. We were upgraded to a very nice room with a king size bed and a refurbished bathroom. Only thing missing was a tub, but the shower was very nice. We would be happy to stay at the Waldorf again.

The lobby is gorgeous Art Deco, and the room was serviceable but rather dated. Service was generally good. The location of this hotel for the price was unbeatable. Literally across the street from the train station and about 400 yards from the Scott Monument. Staff were incredibly friendly and held our luggage before check-in and after check-out without any additional fees. I was disappointed that their was no coffee machine in the room. Maid service moved personal objects and disposed of a personal belonging. I asked for a small recognition ( like a cupcake) for my husband's birthday and nothing was done. A great location and a historic, beautiful hotel but impersonal.
