My wife and I greatly appreciate the surprise upgrade for her 50th birthday. It made the whole stay awesome! The only two down points were that the TV in the master bedroom didn't work so we slept in the guest. It also took close to an hour to get our car. Overall, everything was ok. However, I booked tickets for a Broadway show through the concierge prior to our stay. He didn't tell me that I should pick them up at the hotel. Aging hotel located on 7th ave a few blocks south of Central Park and within walking distance of the theatre district. My wife and I decided to spend the night in the city after seeing a Broadway show. Front desk staff extremely unfriendly. Whole hotel needs a makeover. Front lobby looks like a 70s disco. Bed was comfortable, but chair and curtains old and worn and stained. The hotel itself is not that bad. Our room was small, but nice. The biggest problem was that they just did not have enough people helping guest with things like check-in, and parking. "Great location"
Location and price are the best qualities for Park Central. The room was spacious but wasn't in particularly good condition - peeling wallpaper, water damaged floorboards, brackets with no shelf in the bathroom, etc. We were given a room with an accessible bathroom. The shower dripped constantly and since there was not tub to catch the water, the bathroom […] floor was constantly wet. We had to use half our towels as floor mats in front of shower, sink and toilet to catch the water. There were no counter tops in the bathroom so we had to keep all our toiletries on the tv table. The staff wasn't all that helpful and I was irked that we were charged for checking bags when our room wasn't available (although we did arrive before check in time). But the price and location were perfect. "Very central location"
I have to see this was a great quality hotel in a great location with a reasonable price to match. The hotel is clean and i cant ally say a bad word about it. I stayed with my partner for 3 night and it is right beside central park and minutes walk away from time square, this made seeing all the sights easy and with subway right beside the hotel really […] helped in comuting. The bed only had 3 pillows and no spares n the room. I called house keeping at 6pm on my day of arrival to ask for pillows, i called again an hour late and still they didnt arrive after 45 minutes but we went out and returned at midnight and i asked at reception who apoligised and said she informed house keeping who will bring them right up, i was tired from traveling but at 12:30 they still were not at my room so i called reception again who said therenwas a shift change and it wasnt passed over and they would be rushed to me, 12:50am they arrived witha house keeper who litterally through them at me and walked away without speaking which was so rude considering i waited near 7 hours n them. The bar was nice but found drinks very expensive and there is a really nice bar on the other side of he street one block down with a good atmosphere and cheaper. Great location 2 blocks South of Central Park and about a dozen blocks North of Times Square. I was very pleased when the front desk clerk let us check in at 11am because there was a room available instead of waiting until 4pm. The room was under standards for the price paid though. The hotel itself was very nice, and our room was pretty spacious for a NYC hotel. The location was great as well and was within walking distance to Central Park, Rockafeller Center, Times Square, ect. If you want a fancy hotel, with some luxury bedrooms and stuff, stay away from Park Central Hotel. But if you need a clean hotel, great big bed, good location... this could be a good one. The hotel location was perfect. Room service was way too expensive. I ordered breakfast for two people and the bill came up to $73. What they don't tell you is that they charge you a delivery fee and they charge 18% gratuity. The shower pressure was very low. You had the flush the toilet several times before tissue would go down. "Great location, sub-par hotel"
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Park Central New York Hotel for a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary. This hotel is a few blocks from Central Park and Times Square and there is a Metro stop directly outside of the doors. That's about all that we were impressed with. When we arrived to check in, there was a line of about 10 people in front […] of us, with only two Front Desk Employees working, so the wait was significant. We were confirmed with a Superior King, and entered our room to find two double beds. The phone in the room did not work, so I had to call with my cell phone and was placed on hold for over five minutes and they sent an employee to our room with keys to our new room. It took over twenty minutes to receive the new keys, and the elevators on the floor we were placed on did not work. We were told this was the last Superior King available and that we would have to use the elevators that were on the other side of the hallway. On top of that, the phone in the hallway was constantly ringing in the morning and woke us up. We were less than impressed with the accommodations and the quality of service.
