Hotel is located between Cental Park and Time Square and 1/2 block from Broadway. Subway entrance just outside the lobby entrance. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Hotel was under construction which we were not made aware of when we booked but the 9th floor of renovated rooms was gorgeous. Very comfortable beds and friendly staff. Will be an amazing hotel once the construction is complete.

Only complaint was the hotel is under construction and notification of that was nowhere to be found until we checked in. Everything okay except for starting construction before 8am on Monday morning. Staff were wonderful. Hotel was clean, some items such as rug a little worn, hence under renovations.

Your booking agent failed to tell me that there was no restaurant[hotel under renovations].Also he gave me wrong info when I asked if the rooms had robes.He tod me yes but they did not. We were fortunate enough to have a room with plenty of windows, nice view of the street, the size of the room was comfortable, and our room included a small refrigerator. The hotel is located in a very convenient location for walking, dinning, and sight-seeing. The hotel's personnel and staff were very accommodating at all times. A reasonable 2nd choice given our original hotel was closed due to Hurricane Sandy. Location convenient to shops, subway. Rooms were quite comfortable but should provide facilities for making tea/coffee and also access to drinking water (e.g. free bottles/fountain on each level). 1. Room too hot even with aircon on High Fan and full Cold. 2. Double beds very small. 3. Impolite personnel at front desk (argumentative) and bell captain. 4. Very convenient location: clost to subway & bus lines, restaurants, 5th Avenue shopping, theatre district. 5. Unfortunately, overall I'd give a rating of about 5 out of 10.

A beautiful lobby; easy check-in; friendly staff; the location is perfect! Only diffuculty regarding my room was the stale, dank smell, like a wet towel had expired on the carpet. Mold spots were on the back of the shower curtain.

Excellent hotel for the price--we could not have been more pleased. Even with the $55 per night parking cost, the price of this hotel is a third anything else in the area (up town). I read all of the reviews and find them to be accurate--thank you for posting. I thought Park Central was an excellent hotel. The people at the front desk were very patient with a variety of travelers from all over the world; I witnessed one employee shift seamlessly to Spanish with a man from Spain who was clearly having trouble communicating in English, which he appreciated immensely. I think you pay for the amazing location […] at this hotel, but once inside the rooms, their condition was pretty average...not sure what I was expecting! Things to know: they are VERY busy, so checking in early does not seem to be an option. You must pay a small amount in cash to store your luggage if you want to walk around NYC while waiting for your room to be ready. Big positives: did I mention LOCATION? Subway entrances are located on nearly every corner of Park Central, and you can see the trees of Central Park if you turn your head left after walking out of the entrance. If you do drive into the city, recommend parking yourself in a garage near the hotel to save a little money. I would stay at Park Central again, but will also consider other nearby options at this price point. Read more

We had 2 rooms that we got using Hotels.com and recieved a great rate due to a "summer sale." Some reviews mentioned musty rooms while others said their rooms were fine. Sure enough, one of our rooms was cool and oderless. The other was horrible. Seemed like the air conditioner was shooting out musty warm air so we turned it off. Our room was clean and in a great location! Didn't have coffee pot (and they never delivered one like they said), but everything else was pretty good. Towels weren't the softest in the hotel world, but again, they were clean. All the necessary items were all there. We feel cheated. TV remote was broken, phone was broken, 2 towels for 4 people. Had to call for towels every night we were there. 35 rings before guest services picked up then everything was taken care of 1 1/2 hours later at 12:30am. Shower leaked through the wall into the bedroom. Carpet soaked next to the bed. Called for an extra blanket and it was […] brought with a coffee stain that still smelled like coffee. First the key the my room didnt work, so I had to move to another room. The second room the AC didnt work so I went to talk to the front office and they told me there was not another room available and they gave me a fan to cool the room (It was hotter in the room than outside).The second night after no sleep the first because it was so hot they said […] they would send someone to check the AC. Two hours passed and no one showed up so I went down again to talk the manager and he finally send someone and the problem was the pump on the AC was broken and they didnt have the part to fix it. Disappointed in accommodation. Good location but not a good value. Floors in room were dirty especially bathroom. Front desk for check-in was unaware I paid extra for a "concierge" room versus a "superior" room. I paid extra for nothing. Was told to go to a special line to get room key then scolded for doing so. View of brick wall and other's rooms […] from my "concierge" room. Went to booking.com after I checked in and found room for much less. Tons of youth groups stay here so there must be a lower rate available for this hotel. Not a 4 star. 2.5 to 3 at best. Read more

I've been traveling worldwide lately and use to stay in hotels of 4 or 5 stars, I really don't understand how this hotel can be 4 stars.
