For upscale shopping, walk about a half-mile east of the hotel to Fifth Avenue, where you'll find the flagship Saks department store and a host of designer boutiques. If you prefer culture to couture, the world-famous Museum of Modern Art is less than a 15-minute walk from Hilton Garden Inn. Once you've worked up an appetite, take your pick from the diverse dining choices along Restaurant Row, just 2 blocks from the hotel.
You don't have to venture beyond the hotel for a gourmet meal, though. Before heading out for an evening of music or theater, stop by Pigalle for dinner. This Parisian-style brasserie offers traditional French fare (be sure to save room for the crème brûlée). After the show, return to Pigalle's bar for a nightcap. And if you get late-night cravings, the 24-hour Pavilion Pantry in the lobby sells snacks, drinks, and ready-to-cook meals (easy to heat and store with guestroom microwaves and refrigerators).
When the day is done, retreat to a spacious, modern guestroom. Squeeze in a last-minute workout with a complimentary Stay Fit Kit while you watch a movie on the flat-panel HDTV. Pigalle - Styled like a 1950s brasserie with a pressed-tin ceiling and a zinc bar from Paris, this restaurant serves traditional French cuisine. Menu highlights include a classic Croque Monsieur, Steak Frites, and hearty Cassoulet. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.
Open from early morning until late evening, the complimentary fitness center provides free weights, strength-training equipment, and cardio machines. Complimentary Stay Fit Kits can be borrowed from the front desk for guestroom use. Each kit includes a Pilates band; an 8-pound abs ball; 3-pound hand weights; a resistance rope; and yoga mat, strap, and bricks.

Given Times Square is in the title of the hotel- you would have thought you could at least see Times Square from your room. The walk is t horribly far - maybe a half of a mile but it is misleading. "Very noise room..."
The location was great but when we arrived to check-in there was a lot of people at the lobby, so we waited a little bit. They gave us a room in the second flor (and when I asked for another they said that one was the only one available!). The room was clean but it was very noise. It was possible to hear every person talking when waiting for the elevation […] and the train or subway under the hotel (it is very annoying at 5 am). Very close to Times Square and hells kitchen short walk away. Room was small but a good size for nyc. Nobody took my bags when i walked in. No big deal though. Hotel let us keep our bags in storage and jse restroom after checkout which was very convinient. Bar on sixteenth floor very expensive 29$ for two small rum and cokes. This hotel is in an excellent location! Rooms were nice size and beds were comfy. Only issue was subway noise... we were on the 3rd floor and could hear the subway underneath us everytime. I got a nice room for a lovely price. Great location (5min walk from Times Sq); bathroom was a bit little, there was no minibar (but there was a fridge, microwave and coffe maker) and the street was noisy and could be heard from the inside. Room is clean. BUT check your SHEETS, we found some long hair on our first night. Also ask for extra sheets. theres only one on the mattress(thin,see-through) and One to cover with.plus duvet. Mattress is very Comfortable. Also dont expect for your things to be cleared away when you return after they "clean". only the bed is made and toiletries refilled […] and towels. BE CAREFUL with leaving shopping bags around. They thought mine was TRASH and they had to look for my Macys Bag Luckily found it and also compensated me for the trouble.-Very pleased with the customer service-THIS IS HUGE! This is the fourth hotel I have stayed at near Time Square. It was my least favorite. The employees were great but the room was smaller than most and had a bad smell. I just did not feel like the room was clean for some reason- maybe just the smell.
