"Rude awakening"
We were woke up at 5:00 am on Sunday by extremely loud voices in hallway of 5th floor. I called front desk for security and management. I was told security was on the way from another request. Not impressed. Surprised this has such a high rating. Front desk bordered on rude and certainly not friendly. Did not get maid service even though I was gone all afternoon. "Convenient to casinos"
The hotel was clean and modern, and the staff was very helpful. You do have to park across a rather busy street in a parking structure, but once your car is there, you can use the hotel shuttle to go to casinos. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"We had such a great stay for Cheer Competition!"
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. A transit shuttle is provided 24 hours a day and travels within 2 miles of the hotel. This includes the Louisiana Boardwalk and numerous casinos or for just a night out at dinner or site-seeing. The room was a nice size and very clean. There is a heated pool on the roof and YES, it can be used in cold […] weather! There is also a hot tub in an enclosed room looking out onto the pool area. This hotel also has a nice bar/dining area, although we didn't eat there. The Hilton lobby is attached to the convention center; you simply walk down a corridor and through one door and you are at the entrance to the convention center. You never have to step outside! Parking is available across the street in a parking garage and it is easy to maneuver the walk because it is a one-way street and very easy to cross right in front of the hotel entrance. I strongly recommend the Hilton for your next stay in Shreveport, especially if you have business at the convention center or nearby (across the bridge at Bossier City)....so convenient. "Very nice with a few exceptions ....."
Having worked at the Hilton Waikiki and Hilton Waikoloa I understand the high standards for guest satisfaction, guest service and upkeep of the property - the Hilton Shreveport was no exception, except for the following: The hotel lobby area was well maintained, the front office staff was very helpful and courteious - except for one minor problem. […] While during an early check out, there was a "front office supervisor" who had problems checking me out and another supervisor had to help him out. When I went to the front desk about 2 hours later - that supervisor was still having problems as the other supervisor was again in his station helping him out - hmmmmmm. The room was nicely made up - however the metal parts of the shower should have been wiped down with each turn. You could see that is was never done - waste backets, shower spout, handles and shower curtain were dirty - not to mention that there was rust on the handle bar in the shower.
