"If you want cheap, this is it."
This motel is from the dark ages. Reasonably clean but looks like owners have made minimal investment in upkeep for many years. "For a good night sleep."
The most important thing for me in a hotel is to be able to get a good night sleep. This hotel was one of the quietest I have ever stayed in and the bed was very comfortable. "Price good... room lacking"
The location was great for what we needed but the entry into the hotel is ackward. "Ok to stay"
We reserved a room downstairs and told them we are checking in @9:30pm and we already paid money in full. I checked with the staff in the afternoon to make sure we have downstairs room. But when we arrived, we were told that only upstairs room is available. We had to carry heavy luggage upstairs. We have two adults but were given only one key. No phone […] in room. "OK for cheap digs with no frills"
This hotel was fine for what we were there for... attending a funeral and not spending much time in the room... the bedspread had holes in it but was clean... getting into the driveway is a challenge when coming from downtown Castro Valley... the only way to enter legally is to pass the hotel, turn into a residential street, make a u turn and go back […] down to the hotel... while the staff were not rude, they also were not terribly friendly or warm. The rooms seemed dirty. My non-smoking room smeelled like smoke and they had the window open to air it out. The electrical switch plates were so old that they were yellowed and two were broken in half exposing the socket.
