The location and view of the ocean from the top floor is great. But the Inn needs lots of cleaning and repairs. Examples; the door dead-bolt didn't work, the toilet barely flushed, the lights were too dim to read by (all interior lights were "high efficiency" but very dim), there was rust on the metal stair supports and there was accumulated dirt piles […] in some of the corners. The free breakfast was very poor with no pastry and the other choices were very limited. This used to be a top-notch Inn and could be again with lots of needed repairs and cleaning. Read more

When the other reviewers are saying that the hotel is old and run-down, they were not kidding. The quality of the rooms was below par: the bathroom tub had the enamel peeling off. We got the ocean view rooms which were a joke (you can see ocean on one side when you step out to balcony). Only ocean view, there is no ocean access. We found the location quite easily. Check in was fast, since we had used Hotels.com for payment. The room they originally assigned us was upstairs, but they quickly changed us to downstairs at our request. The rooms are old, and have a musty damp smell, but they were clean. We did discover that there was no reception for our cell phones (except every […] now and then 1 bar would show up and maybe a text would come through) and there was no WiFi available (which wasn't all that necessary). We had to drive into Fort Bragg or down to Mendocino to get phone connection. This was totally inconvenient since our family had been spread out in the area for our daughters wedding, so communication was lost. I wouldn't stay there again. I would pay more money and get a room in town, either way. Read more

The staff was very kind in allowing us to check out a day early without penalty, so I give them props for that, but overall the hotel was not in great shape. The housekeeping staff definitely needs to do a better job! Old chip on the floor, carpet needs cleaning BAD, just overall dingy and old. Needs a face lift badly.

I love the north coast but many of the hotels, B&B's and Inn are crazy expensive but lack luster. Pine Beach Inn was perfect for the price, while the Inn could be updated , it is a great place to take kids and you family pet. There is a private beach which is very safe for kids and totally pet friendly.

The restaurant/bar on the premises closed early on Friday and wasn't even open on Saturday or Sunday. Great location with access to a lovely private beach however there was no one on the desk between the hours of 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The room was clean but extremely shabby. The bathroom was in serious need of repair - cracked floor, cracked sink and a faucet that was not secured tightly to the counter and crumbling wallpaper. There was no Wifi or cell […] reception. The TV was an antique.. It could be a gem if given the attention it needs and some basic renovations. I rarely write a review but this place was sooooooo bad! The only positive point was that the room was big. It was not clean, the bathroom was leaking from everywhere. We let them know we would arrive round 11pm, they had not put any heating on so we were freezing for 2 hours before it got warm! They were super confused at the counter, and last but […] not least: "the ocean view" was basically a bunch of bushes! (With a little triangle of water on the far left!!!) Please stay away! This hotel has seen better days. It is run down and neglected.Our room was not dirty but the poor condition of the hotel made it feel it. The sheets were thin and worn out. The towels stained and old. Breakfast was almost none existent. The bread had mold on it . The location is a minutes walk from the beach, and the rooms do have a little deck.

The inside of the room wasn't to bad, but 4 of the lights were out, and the futon wasn't comfortable to sit in. There were chairs and a table outside to sit in, but the table was full of mold and the chairs were dirty. The ocean view was not bad, but you had to stand to see it.

Very nice location, but run down facilities. The "ocean view" room had a glimpse of the ocean if you looked sideways from the window; otherwise it looked out over a gully of weeds. We were not impressed with the hotel. This was one of the only hotels that was not booked up and at a reasonable rate. We found out why. We were given a room with a jacuzzi tub that didn't work. We arrived to our room that had a sign on the jacuzzi saying it was broken. When we complained to the owner he told us that is why we received a discounted […] rate. We were not notified at the time of booking that we were getting a room with a broken jacuzzi. they also advertize they are on the beach. The beach is blocked by bushes and two or three houses. The "ocean view" was only from a small corner of the outside balcony. The hotel is obviously in need of repair: cracks in wall in bathroon. Bathtub needing repair / resurfacing. I would not stay here again.

The towels had stains on them and the screen door was broken. We knew the hotel was older but expected it to be better kept. We upgraded to a "suite" but all this was was a 2 bedroom with the 2nd bedroom never used - we will not stay in the hotel again.

It took a while to find someone to check us in. Room was aging, but clean, with an old TV, antiquated climate control and no Wi-fi. Bathroom is small. Ad says beach access which is down a long trail and neither the beach nor the ocean is visable from the motel. Parking lot was gravel and dusty. It is very low end...Just disappointing...room appears clean but if you move anything you see they clean only what can be seen. No wifi...no amenities..including a drink machine...they have one however it is broken or rather destroyed and still sitting there as to appear as they have one..

The vintage 60's decor has not been upgraded since the motel was established. The room smelled musty and dank and the pillows were lumpy. We found a fake eyelash strip in the bedding, so apparently the blankets don't get laundered often.

This motel was so bad, that we did not stay the night even though it was already paid. Room had a bad smell. It appeared that motel was being renovated. This is just an old fashioned motel that should be rated at the bottom of the list regardless of its nightly price.

it was not pleasant. I was told by your representative at time of reservation that there is WIFI in guest room but it was not. also phone service was not available in the hotel area. breakfast was far too poor comparing to other motel/hotel with high price.

We were supposed to get a room with a king bed. When we informed the front desk he told us he had telephoned Expedia ! to say he couldn't comply. The room was shabby, distant ocean view and not worth that kind of price.

It was fine for one night, no cell phone coverage, no internet service, too far from town to walk to anything, desk clerk very unhelpful, not kept up very well, hair in bathroom on floor, corners of bathroom dirty. Bed comfortable, small beach available to walk to. Quiet at night, paid too much for what we got.
