Golden Eagle Resort in Stowe is within the vicinity of Stowe Mountain Resort and offers easy access to winter sports like downhill skiing and snowboarding. Other regional attractions include Smugglers' Notch Ski Area and Ben and Jerry's Factory.

"Loved this place"

Great place close to the slopes! With two beds and cot, we were surprised to have plenty of room for 5. Very comfortable and well maintained. Great spa and hot tub for after ski relaxing. Wonderful stay, and while the hotel decor may be a little on the out-dated side, the hotel was very well kept and very clean. The property is spread out in several buildings, all rather small, which made the surroundings very quiet and made us feel almost as if we had our own property. There are laundry facilities on the property, which came in handy […] as we were in Stowe skiing for a week. Huge hot tub in the Spa area, and a nice indoor pool of good size - albeit almost too warm for lap training, but great for anyone just wanting to relax in the pool.The hotel is right next to Ye Old England Inne with a lovely pub and restaurant, huge selection of beer and very good food. "Convenient Location, Great Amenities"
We stayed there on the labor day weekend and it was the cheapest available at the last minute, so we werent expecting too many things from the resort. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived there late at night (1 am). We were greeted by their reception who had the paperwork and keys to our rooms ready. The next morning we had a chance to explore […] the resort and their cafe. Their cafe (Colonial Cafe) is breakfast only, but their breakfast was one of the best in the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Their bathrooms could use some TLC but were very clean. The house keeping staff was prompt and courteous. They also had a game room with a pool table, ping pong and some arcade games. They also have a fishing pond onsite and rent out fishing rods which was awesome for us newbies. I booked this hotel for just a standard king room. Upon my arrival, I was notified that there was no standard king rooms for the night, and that I have been upgraded for free to a mini suite. As if that was not amazing alone, when I got to the room, it was beautiful and huge. It was so cozy and comfortable. The bathroom was amazing, had a whirlpool […] tub and even a towel warmer. I also really enjoyed the fireplace. I was a first time user of it, so I called down to the front desk, and was pleasantly given instructions on how to use it. The room was so warm after I got the fire going. The staff was friendly and kept the rooms very clean. I came to Stowe for a trip to Ben & Jerry's factory, and when I left, I realized that the hotel was the best part of my stay in Vermont. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any traveler. We stayed four nights at Golden Eagle to experience the skiing at nearby Stowe. We had a fabulous time. The accommodations were more than adequate, and everything was so convenient, just minutes from town and only 5 miles from the ski slopes. "Relaxing retreat"
We visited the Golden Eagle Resort in mid-September, not the most active season in Stowe. Our room was quiet and spacious on the second floor. There is no elevator, but staff offered to help with luggage. The grounds are many acres of both forest and grassy areas, and include hiking or skiing trails as well as bike trails. We used both the fitness center […] and indoor pool. There is also a jacuzzi and an outdoor pool, and you can also arrange for massage. The resort is within walking distance of restaurants, markets, shops and movies. We liked it so much that we drove to Burlington for a day trip, then back to Stowe for a second night.
