The hotel was absolutely great. The room was beautiful and clean and the service was great. It was a half block off the strip which was great because you can literally walk to the strip and shopping but got out of the crowds to wind down. The hotel itself is connected to planet hollywood and is pretty modern. We stayed in a junior suite which consisted of 1 bathroom, 1 bed room and a separate living room. It was pretty spacious but surprisingly no full length mirrors?? The location, however, was perfect. "Awesome Experience, Tough Crowd"
My friends and I were all turning 21 and wanted to stay at a place with low rates, but high expectations. I had read many reviews about the Elara saying it wasn't great, the water pressure was bad, blah blah blah. When I would ask people they would say the exact opposite, so I decided to take a chance with the one bed room king suite! It was PERFECT. What can I say...location, location, location!!! The best thing about this place is the location. Walking distance to every major hotel, shopping, bars, night clubs, good food, etc. Contemporary rooms make the stay a lot more pleasant as well. The staff was very friends and check-in/out was a breeze. Check out is at 10am, which is a bummer, but if call […] the front desk and be POLITE and ask for a late check out NICELY, they can give you until 12pm. The only thing to consider when booking this hotel is is you are going to the pool. Compared to all the other pools on the strip from the major hotels, I would rate this pool a 4. If a posh and luxe pool is important for you then make sure you check out the pictures of the pool to make sure it something for you. Pros: Great modern hotel, large space (one-Bed suite), clean, floor to ceiling glass window, 8ft projector screen, washer/dryer in bathroom. "Great value, beautiful rooms!"
We go to Vegas about twice a year and have stayed in many of the hotels on the Strip... Elara is definitely our new favorite place to stay. Elara is nicer and newer than most of the hotels we've stayed at (MGM, Monte Carlo, Luxor, etc) and the rates are quite a bit lower. When we walked into our room, we couldn't believe that we were able to stay somewhere […] so nice for the amount we were paying. The location of the hotel is pretty good - it's not right on the Strip, but it's connected directly to the Miracle Mile mall, and it's only about a 5-10 minute walk through the mall to get to the Strip. The rooms are beautiful and modern - spacious, huge windows with good views, modern furniture, even a little kitchenette with a dishwasher. The hotel is only 3 years old, so nothing about it feels worn down or dated (unlike many of the other reasonably priced hotels on/near The Strip). The pool area was being resurfaced when we visited, but it looks like it will be very nice when it's finished (they let us use the pool at the other Hilton nearby). The hotel itself isn't a casino, but it's connected to the Planet Hollywood casino, so we didn't feel like we were away from the action. Overall, I would highly recommended this hotel. Hotel is undergoing transformation into Hilton brand and is struggling. It is a party hotel full of noisy drunk and loud partygoers. Rooms are sad , hallways dirty and front desk staff who do not care or know anything about customer service. There are plenty if other choices. "Very Disappointed"
I will start first with the problems I had with my room then I will discuss the staff. First off our fridge had the handle come off the door as soon as we went to open it. Secondly our fan above the jacuzzi was broken so when we went to use the tub it steamed the whole bedroom. We couldnt even use the jacuzzi because they jets were also broken. Now the staff when we checked in our front desk clerk stated that he would put us in a corner suite so we could be a little louder than in the normal suites after we TIPPED him cash, then he proceeded to give each one of our guests 4 key cards and by that figured we were all checked in but that wasnt the case. We get up to our room put on some music with the sound system in the room and we get harassed by security saying they were going to evict us because not everyone was checked in and it was to loud, but if each one of my guests were individually handed key cards by the desk clerk doesnt that mean he knows four people our in the room? Then security states that they have been banging on the door and calling us non stop to tell us this which never happened, no phone calls or banging on the door, but when the welcome desk called us we got that call right away. This is an old Planet Hollywood tower that Hilton took over and is slowly transforming into the typical Hilton accommodation. It currently has an "Asian flare", down to the plush red leather coach in the room and the red and black carpeting. "Disappointed and embarrassed"
This stay was just plain bad. I entered the hotel room it was dirty, crumbs everywhere trash, shampoo bottles in the shower, bandaid next to the couch. I called down to see if we could get the room recleaned and was told that staff was off for the night. So I went to take a shower and both doors for the bathroom were not working (one didn't lock other […] didn't close) then turned on the shower waited 10 mins and never got warm so I called again about the water situation they said they'd send someone. I waited 30 mins before I called again to see where the guy was. I asked if I could just change rooms because if the shower the doors and the cleanliness. They told me only the engineer could deem it ok to change. I waited another 20 mins he arrived fixed the doors and then turned the water on for another 10 mins and then the water got warm. I was irritated but we just wanted to celebrate my friends birthday. When we got back to the room we needed the bedding for the pullout bed, I'm not sure why they just don't supply this. So I called at 145am. No one answered, I had to go down they said someone would be right up. Long story short I waited till 315am before I got the blankets trying to call every 30 mins but had to go down to remind them. All and all it was awful.
