"Not coming back... ever."
I liked staying here when it was the PH Westgate. Now the only thing it has going for it is that it is near City Center. Upon check in, I was told that the pool was closed for the season, even though it was sunny and in the upper 70's all week. No mention of this at all on Hotels.com when I booked it. They told me that I could drive over to the Flamingo […] Hilton to use their pool, so we wasted some time doing that. Instead of a comparable pool with poolside service, amenities, etc., we found a dumpy little lap pool, with no service at all. One morning, around 10:00am, they decided to conduct a test of the hotel's PA system. Complete with piercing claxons, it lasted for about 15 minutes. Even though there was a voice so loud it resonated in my fillings telling me to disregard what was going on (about 10 times during the 15 minutes), I found it impossible to comply. On the plus side, it was the most effective wake up call that I and my friends have ever had, and we didn't even have to ask for it. Finally, I realize this has more to do with PH than Hilton, but the Miracle Mile shops have really gone downhill. I used to like this hotel because you could come and go wihout going through a casino. But now there are so many people bugging you with strip club offers, bar offers, and several con men, that I think I would prefer a walk through a smoke filled casino. Other than that, the rooms are comfortable, and having a little kitchen area with a fridge to store drinks in was nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My room faced the parking garage. The lot was very active throughout the entire evening into the early morning hours. It was difficult to sleep due car alarms and screeching tires. Otherwise, my stay was pleasant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place with a lot of phony people around"
Overall - nice Hotel but the type of people there - phony people ....and the service is not that great . Contemporary styling with phony atmosphere....and nod the checkout time is 10 am ....Very inconvenient ... My last stay at this placeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly staff, couple of issues with room"
The staff including housekeeping were very friendly, however we got the junior suite and what was advertised was not exactly what we got. The advertisement noted a red sectional sofa bed and 15" HD TV in the bathroom. It was only a regular sofa bed an no TV in the bathroom. The room was clean, however I couldn't take a bath in the jetted tub because […] black debris spurted out the jets. Also there was a black toilet and couldn't tell if it was clean and couldn't see the color of your urine. Otherwise, this hotel is located in a great location and the bed was AWESOME!!! "Decent at best"
Hotel is decent. Charge for valet which is unheard of in Vegas...but don't worry because vallet is always full so you have to self park anyway. Staff is unattentive and while the rooms were clean, bed was comfy, the halls smelled like mildew. For the rate of $95 it was fine but I doubt I'll be staying here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Check In Wrong, Free to Breathe"
First things first, there is no smoking in the hotel and it's amazing. It's one of the only places I can get a breath of fresh air in Vegas. We arrived at 9am -- check in time is at 4pm. We were told early arrival is available on a first-come-first-served basis. We arrive and no room is available. The lady behind the desk tells us to check again in […] an hour. We do -- no room. She tells us to come back once again in 2 hours. We do -- no room. She says one more time, try again. We do -- no room. We come back at 4pm and there is still no room ready. We wait 5 minutes while Ray behind the desk looks around. He comes back and tells us our room isn't ready, but we can "upgrade" to the penthouse for no charge. The only difference between the room we booked and the "upgrade" is the penthouse loses a bed and gains a better view. So for "comping you the extra $150/night" we lost a bed and got a slightly smaller room but a better view. I wasn't too worried about the bed (we had 5 in our party), but we really wanted to just put our bags down and rest so we took it. The room was nice and clean. There were no directions on how to work the projector -- turning it on would turn off the TV, but we had no sound.. Cables were everywhere under the TV. We did have a great view of the Planet Hollywood building. The website says "great view of the strip" but really most of it is blocked by buildings no matter where your room is. Overall, it was a great room though. I'm out of characters... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not worth it"
This property sold breakfast packages and didn't honor their dealGenuine Expedia guest review
Upon arriving to the hotel it took us about 45 minutes to find parking! Once we did we followed signs towards the hotel via the miracle mile mall. We pretty much missed it because there wasn't any signs saying that was where the hotel was located! Once we got into our room and got settled I went to place something in the fridge, to my surprise there […] were 2 OPENED half way full bottles of water left inside! Went to the rest room and there was toilet paper in the bowl! I called to have our room changed n was told to wait in our room so a manager can check it out, she would be up in 10 mins. Well 30 mins later I called back downstairs to see what's going on and was told she would be up shortly. Took another 15 mins to get to our room and at that time I'm livid because we had to cancel our plans because of this mess! We weren't able to get another room. They simply just cleaned ours. Free wifi was given to us for the inconvenience, which didn't work either. The staff was nice enough to bring us champagne. But overall it was disappointing and disgusting! There were only 2 ice machines throughout the entire buildingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I would have given a higher rating, however, it was the longest check-in I have ever encountered in my entire life. It must have taken each person 15 minutes to check-in. Not sure why that would be. I stood in line for about 45 minutes and there were only three people ahead of me, and three front desk personnel. What?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was good but things could have been cleaner and concierge service based on calls from the room was non-existent. Amenities were fine. Pool is lovely and proximity to everything is great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For those who can't be in direct sunlight all day, beware the pool the deck. While the Elara offers many things, it does not offer much shade at the pool. There are enclosed cabanas & a 1/2 dozen exposed cabanas w/ umbrellas for rent. And they are expensive for just 2 guests. But the main pool deck does not offer umbrellas next to the chaise loungers. […] And when the wind picked up lightly; the attendants put down any umbrellas that guests had purchased. It is Las Vegas after all; the blistering heat & extreme UV 11+ does not relent. Hopefully in the future, the Elara will make the pool deck more comfortable for everyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth the price"
For the amount we pay, we usually expect a certain level of style. Alera was a big disappointment. Pros: connected to the miricle mile. That's it! Cons: no ice machine on any floors but the firth(we were on the 21nd), bathroom was VERY small, our view was of the parking structures, pool would close early every day, no HBO, cleaning service always harassed […] even though we had the privacy button lite, and more but I think my point is made. "Westgate was better!"
I've stayed at the hotel when it was Westgate and the overall service was much better. I was a little disappointed with the attitude of the front desk. Also housekeeping did a terrible job in cleaning the room. They have dishes but no way of cleaning them...and our trash under the kitchen sink wasn't emptied the whole time we were there. "It's OK for What It Is"
The accommodations were pretty impressive, but there was a general feel of inadequacy, as the maintenance struggled to keep up with the demand from all the extra razzle-dazzle it tried to offer. I found a hair ball in my shower, and my associates and I had observed many furniture damages. If they could just keep up with the basic cleaning and maintenance, […] we could have happily do without the multiple flat screen TVs, the jacuzzi in the bedroom, or the projector in the living room - none of which were really necessary. over all, it was a disappointment. When we checked-in, the front desk clerk didn't mention about breakfast even though it was including in our room plan. So, we almost forgot about it. Then, when we ordered omelet for breakfast in the next morning, the operator said "you have to order better breakfast in order to get omelet." Oh, very nice. It sounded […] like we were not able to order omelet since our room plan is CHEAP. Well, maybe too much thinking... They forgot toasts we order, so we had to call In-room dining again. The toasts were already cold... They just brought the ones forgotten instead of serving new ones... And more, our TV was really slow... like when can we watch a program what we wanna watch!? It took forever to do anything with the TV... I don't think I'll go back to the hotel. I'd rather pay more to stay a better hotel than going back there... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A disappointing experience"

"Great Location; Friendly Staff--little else"
Great Location; Small rooms; Friendly Staff; Restrictive pool policiesGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was very nice, clean, with a good view, comfortable bed, large bathroom and living area. However, the hotel was a bit confusing to find if walking from the Strip. The $15 charge for valet parking is a bit much considering the car is parked in an uncovered lot, which may be okay during the winter, but not acceptable during the 100 plus degree […] summer. Better to self-park in the shade for free behind the hotel. Also, check-out took 30 minutes because a $300 room service credit (not charge) had been added to the room mistakenly and it took the customer service rep about 20 minutes to get it taken off and print out a receipt with our $15 valet charge. Because of the 30 minute inconvenience, I will probably not stay at the hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Pretty noisy, but that's to be expected in Vegas. The hotel was clean which was nice. Beds were comfy.Decent pool area to chill. We did the room with the breakfast package which wasn't really worth it. Check out is strictly at 10, requesting a late check out wasn't an option. Overall the stay was fine but I probably won't stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Dissappointing. Hotel staff lied to me prior to the trip with regard to the completeness of the kitchenette facility. Although a 2-3 day stay might be okay, the constant noise makes week long stays uncomfortable. Random pool charges were added to the bill that were never incurred. No recourse was offered to dispute.Genuine Expedia guest review
What we thought was supposed to be a "breakfast buffet" turned out to be a room service breakfast. We had to decide exactly what time the food was to be brought up and it was cold. "Not Bad if you get a good deal"
Well, I would only rate this Hotel as a three star only because they were a little lacking with the rooms up keep. Some of the bathroom furniture were broken and the shower door leaks when you take a shower ( that was due to bad design when they installed the shower door, even I saw that). I did mention that to the front desk the next day but, who knows […] if they actually did anything. Also, one of the TV remote did not work. "Nice facility, lousy customer service"
Our room was nice and clean, comfortable and contemporary, except for the jacuzzi tub that stirred some brown residue into the water when the jets started. During our stay there was no evidence of room service at all, which was disappointing. Check-out time was way early at 10:00 am, and our late check-out request was denied even when we offered to […] pay for the additional few hours requested. "POOL AREA UNDER REPAIR"
As a vacation and travel booking web site , I feel it is your responsibility to know if any part of the hotel your customers are interested in is under any type of construction, especially in warm weather cities. The entire pool area at the Elara was closed for construction. In Vegas ,I would imagine that having a pool is very important to most people, […] especially in 80 degree plus weather. I watch the […] room service staff walk past them several times. I complained to the front desk but they did not seem to care. Hotel was nice but not impressed with the staff. Elara is centrally located, stylish hotel and for the most part enjoyed our stay. The only downs was that our room had wall, furniture, and appliance dings that just made the room look uncared for. It was horrible to park at the hotel, the check in was completely unorgainized, and the cleaning service was less the adequate. Also, it was hard to contact maid services. "THAT should have been caught by someone!"
I would have given this hotel a 4 star rating, if I hadn't have picked up the bedside phone. I've worked in the industry, and was extremely understanding of the demented soul that left something white and crusty spurted across the entire receiver of the phone. While I explained my understanding nature to the management... when it is necessary to send […] a maintenance man with rubber surgical gloves to remove the phone... I think a complimentary fruit salad was a little underwhelming. Otherwise, the hotel was what was advertised. 1BDRM STE was comfortable. W/D takes several hours, so leave time for that. Security is excellent. Proximity to strip is good. No casino, a plus for families. Kitchen to cook in is fantastic. May need your own frying pan. Just check your phones thoroughly!
