We decided to take a family getaway over the long holiday weekend, and chose Mandarin Oriental as a treat to ourselves. The room was huge, the beds very comfortable, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is located near some fun spots on the strip: just south of Aria and north of New York ^2. The concierge found a nanny for a night […] and reservations to nearby Mastro's. She also recommended other options for the rest of our stay: from upscale to kid-friendly. It easily bested the Ritz in Half Moon Bay and matched our best hotel experience. The resort charged nothing for parking and included wifi and spa in a one-time fee for our entire stay. The hotel is sophisticated by completely lacking in warmth. The floors are black marble, most of the walls are black, and the interior of the elevators are black with very low lighting making it difficult to see which button to push to select a floor. The interiors of the generously sized rooms are very dark, the interior of the closet is black, the […] interior of the dresser drawers are black - even the ironing board is black. The lighting and temperature settings are frustrating to navigate; there are multiple lights and switches. Gorgeous hotel, a nice quiet oasis (no gaming) on the Strip. Great 23rd floor "sky lounge" with fabulous view of the Strip. My only complaint was the extremely limited dining options in the hotel. Hotel only has one restaurant for breakfast and lunch - I went once for breakfast, it was very expensive and not good. No coffee in the room (tea only!). This hotel is amazing. You enter at the 23rd floor, and are greeted by the quiet, feng shui design of the interior. the desk personnel are wonderful, efficient and helpful. This was my first experience with the Mandarin Oriental group and it won't be my last. This place is fantastic. The dual elevators / lobby was easy to figure out and the elevators were plentiful and fast so it didn't matter. The rooms are over-sized and the bathrooms are fantastic. I love the valet closet and the turn-down service was great. The spa […] is out of this world, although so are their prices. The pool is small but the service there is unbelievable. Within 3 minutes of arriving they had configured my chaise, taken a drink order and brought me a newspaper. The bellman showed me all the electronic bells and whistles in the room. It was amazing. I booked the lowest price room that was available (a room between 4th & 9th floor). During check-in, I was offered an upgrade to a room on 21st F. for a small upgrade charge. The staff told me that the room was his personal favorite. I took the upgrade, and I am very grad I did. Room had great view toward Planet Hollywood Hotel, and being at 21st floor, […] I heard less noise from the street. I also like that the hotel itself did not have a casino, so that I did not have to walk far and through smokes to get to where I needed to go.
