This area has more lodging variety than The Strip. East of the Strip features both gaming and non-gaming properties that range from budget to luxury accommodations. Key attractions here include the Las Vegas Convention Center, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the McCarran International Airport, several office parks, and the Restaurant Row along Flamingo and Paradise roads.

"Excellent Value if service is not a priority"
I love the your hotel. Most of your staff is friendly, however some are not. When I attempted to check in early, I was told that I would get a phone call as soon as a room was available. I waiting in your beautiful lounge. When 3:00pm came and went, I inquired with the young lady again and she pulled up my information and gave me my keys with no aplogy […] for the wait or the fact that she forgot to call me. No big deal, but a noticable change from staying at the Signature. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but needs work"
The hotel needs to do a little work on some of their rooms. The carpeting in most hallways needs to cleaned. Kinda dingy! The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The best part was no smoke! After being in smoky casinos, it was nice to retreat somewhere that had clean air!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for family or big group"
Very roomy, great valet service, great location (right next to flamingo hotel) and very convenient for a family trip. Only down side is.... My friend and I shared one bed and we both woke up with some kind of bug bite. It gotten really red and swollen. Did not have energy to file a complain, but afraid that it was a bed bug. It left me with very red […] mark. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Mixed"
Most of the staff was great but we didn't get housekeeping for 2 days and when we asked for it and were assured it would be done, it was once again not done. When it finally was done, it was a very half hearted effort. The same crumbs on the carpet that were there when we checked in were still there when we checked out. Everything else was fine. Loved […] the location and the view! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A good idea, but..."
We liked the idea of an "oasis" off the strip, and thought our view was indeed fantastic. We thought our room was comfortable, handy (great in-door fridge ice maker!), and I thought the whirlpool bath was indeed luxurious. Frankly, we would not have taken the place without a coffee maker and free Wi-Fi, so I guess those were big plusses for us, as well. Where […] the luxury broke down was in maintenance. Sure, the maids came in daily and made the bed...but why, for heaven's sake, didn't they go the extra few inches to replace the decorative pillows etc?? Also, although our huge window showed the Vegas glitter to perfection at night, I was actually embarrassed by its streaky, grungy appearance when we had friends up one afternoon! And, even though we were there on a several night package, couldn't they afford to give us a second bar of soap for the shower after we used up the first?? And why not a bottle of bath oil or some special salts or whatever for the jacuzzi tub? I mean...really. So, with just a little extra attention to detail, a good hotel could be a great one! The valet only was waste of time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Platinum is located close to the strip. While the area is not the best, (seems like a lot of vagabonds frequent the roadways), the greeting staff, that is bellhop, valet and desk staff are efficient and friendly. My problem with the hotel was cleanliness of the room. The kitchen is lovely and so too the bathroom, but the carpet is very stained, […] with visible wear. The plates in the cupboards were dirty, sticky sort of residue on them. and there was dust in the corners of the desk and under the table leg, which we moved to make the sofa bed. Clearly, the carpet had not seem a steamer and vacuum in a while. The desk and coffee tables had stain marks still from the last guest. I viewed two of the maids clean the room and cleaning is changing towels and making beds. They did not mop, vacuum or wipe the toilet or bathroom countertops. A pity, because with greater care to cleanliness details, it could be a total comfort. I still will recommend it because of the size of room, kitchen and bath and friendly valet and desk staff. Also, they are all helpful and deliver any request you make very quickly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"parents 50th wedding anniversary trip"
We liked the hotel. Location: a little far from the strip, but we knew that when we booked. We liked the kitchenette, rooms were nice, but worn. Our room smelled like fish. Maintenance tried to help with deodorizer, but is still stayed, so we received a $25. food credit, which was nice, but still did not fix the problem. We weren't informed about the […] location of the restaurant or other places to eat close to the hotel, or happy hours, or the pool, or anything when we checked in and we 'overheard' the girl at the desk three days later, telling someone else some of this information as they were checking in. Overall, the price was really high for what we got. The cleaning crew, maintenance were very nice and friendly. And the Valets were awesome. Front desk, mmmm so-so. "Would try it again, but not at New Year's."
It's at the end of the Vegas strip and I think hotels in Vegas, overall, just take a bit of a beating due to the sheer number and type of guests they receive. Plus it was New Years so that probably increased the volume of "party patrons" which would have increased the workload of the cleaning staff but we saw food spilled in the halls and dirty dishes […] waiting to be picked up for an entire day. Upon arrival, the valets seemed a bit disorganized and the room was clean but I's score the cleanliness at maybe a 7/10. We chose it because they're pet friendly. The non-refundable pet fee is $75, which for a 5 days stay is not that bad but if it were just one night would seem steep. Overall, they were fairly accommodating to our pet needs but I'd say they're more pet-tolerant than actually pet-friendly (going out of their way to make your pet's stay enjoyable. Granted, I'm sure not as many people take their pets to Vegas than they would some other destinations. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Just ok we were not able to get in any sooner as thy didn't have a room clean. "There are better hotels in Vegas"
Housekeeping very poor indeed. Had to request towels on arrival then request room cleaning two days later. Phone handsets and headboards on bed were appallingly filthy. Corridor carpet not cleaned for at least 48 hours - paper strewn over the area. VERY noise aircon making continuous sleep almost impossible. Staff otherwise very helpful indeed but surprised […] nobody asked me what we thought when we left. Breakfast very nice - had this 3 times. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Platinum Review"
This non smoking/ non gambling hotel was not cheap but we had a suite (bedroom/Bathroom/Lounge/Kitchen) for the same price as en suite bedroom on the strip. The advantage is no long walks through Casino hall every time you want to go to your room. Hotel staff very hospitable but the rooms (carpet and suite) were not clean and needed updating. Although […] only a couple of 100 yards to back entrance of Ballys Casino you have to cross a big road and past a large car park which initially was slightly concerning but never had any trouble or hint of it. The Hotel has no grounds or green space, there is a pool on the 5th floor. If you need some time to chill out in your room, Las Vegas can be very hectic, these suites gives the ability to do that as well as providing easy access to the Strip. "good hotel, But!!!"
This hotel had really good amenities, good value for the money, large bedroom, two double beds, more like an apartment, lounge, kitchen, with dishwasher, oven, microwave, double fridge, washer dryer, fabulous bathroom, double sink, walkin shower, and jaccuzi. fabulous views of the srip, but not on the strip ( ten minutes walk) Reception Staff and valet were […] very accomodating, could'nt do enough, friendly as soon as they realised it was my birthday they sent up a complementary bottle of chamagne and chocolate covered strawberries, nice touch. Also printed out our return boarding passes, provided the return car to the airport. Hotel bar was very nice, good value during the happy hour. Good pool area with very comfy loungers. But...., if you can put up with the following niggles it's worth a stay, the cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired, the carpets were quite stained in the lounge area, the balcony had not seen a mop and bucket in ages, the windows had not been cleaned in months they were full of finger marks. The food also was not so good, we had breakfast once, not to be repeated, it was only just warm some of it flat cold, you could tell it had been standing a while and some of it was heated up, when we mentioned it the waiters were clueless. They replaced the cold portions but then everything else was cold. they did try to make amends and only charged us for one breakfast, but the lack of organisation left a lot to be desired.-breakfast elsewhere. Such a shame. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fun Family Trip to Vegas - 2 Adults and 3 young Teens"
Vegas is exciting and fun but is too much without somewhere quiet to relax - the Platinum hotel gives you that. Suites are a great size - shame the jet bath was dirty. We stayed for 5 nights had a great time but were glad of the lovely quiet pool and relaxing atmosphere of the hotel. The Platinum is set back one block from the main Strip affording […] some quiet 'down time' when needed. This gives you some welcome distance from the mayhem and lights however I wouldn't have wanted to have made the walk on my own. The surrounding area (anything just off the strip) looks downtrodden and during the evening is a little questionable. But hey... I guess any city has it's quirks. In short - we had a great time! the hotel is about a twenty minute walk to the strip, and the paths etc en-route have alot of rubbish. The suite itself was very big had all you required, we stayed four nights and the room became dustier and dustier may be to big for the cleaner to keep clean. To be fair what we paid was very reasonable, but luxury it is not, the hotel was basic including […] the pool. I would research and if possible try and get a deal with either the Venetian or one of the other newer hotels on the strip. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not bad, but not ideal."
The Platinum is actually not a bad place. It's a quality hotel and the suites are large and well maintained with good service. But in my opinion it's too far from the Strip and the neighborhood immediately to the west of the hotel is run down. So the location is not ideal.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Platinum Hotel Las Vegas"
The room I was allocated on arrival overlooked an ugly flat roof with an air conditioning outlet right outside the window - the room consequently smelled of fried food. However, staff were helpful and polite. They offered me a room on a higher floor but I had to downgrade from the Princess suite I had booked and payed for. They could not refund the […] difference in rate but did provide a credit to cover some food and beverage costs during my stay. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom. I had a 'strip view' but due to the location of the hotel, the immediate view is of two petrol stations, some empty lots and a some sort of sub power arrangements of pylons. The bartender was helpful and welcoming. However, the bar closed at 11pm so no late night last drinks with freinds were feasible. The pool area was clean with plenty of sunbeds and comfy seating available and again the staff were helpful and polite. However, this is just a roof top pool and pretty bare compared with the lush pool surroundings on offer at the larger hotels. Overall I would say that if you are visiting Vegas for the first time and are looking for the 'Vegas experience' and plush surroundings in the thick of the action, don't stay at this hotel. Whilst it is just a 15 - 20 minute walk to the strip, the surroundings are not too pretty. Some of the larger, plusher hotels were available at a similar rate and with hindsight I would have preferred to stay at one of those. However, if you don't mind having no casino, no late bar and are looking for a quiet and less crowded environment, then this would be fine given that the rooms and staff could not be faulted. "Nice place - but..."
The Platinum is an all-suites hotel just east of the Strip. The suites are comfy and very spacious. Entry to the hotel by car is ONLY from eastbound E Flamingo Road. There is no self park, so have some singles avail for the valets, who are very friendly and constantly offering directions or suggestions for activities or shows. I checked in late thanks […] to a midnight arrival, but the check in went quickly. My room was the last one on the floor, literally. The very far end and two right turns from the elevator. But that's fine, it's still a suite! The ONLY thing that turned me off was that I found the last customer's used bar of soap in the shower. I let the front desk know, and they said they'd look after it. Great. The next day, after a long day away, I came back after dinner to discover the kitchen garbage bin out from under the sink, and a used hotel facecloth on the floor. Again, not a big deal, except I hadn't used any of the hotel facecloths that day. AND the used soap was still in the shower. So obviously some communications probs between the desk and housekeeping, and some issues with the details for the apparently very busy housekeeping staff. Because the cleanliness items were personal hygiene things, as opposed to dust or no towels or something else like that, I had to give a 2 for cleanliness. If you can laugh about those types of things and get over it, then you will enjoy the location and service at the Platinum. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"An Experience to Remember..."
It was our second stay at the Platinum. The check in is not until 4:00 pm which could be a challenge for anyone who has flown a great distance. While the offer to check bags for guests waiting to check in was offered to others for our group it was not. We were told our room would be ready shortly. Shortly turned out to be more than an hour of waiting […] while listening to the same story being told to other guests. The first room we had which was a Marquis suite. There was not a coffee maker, toaster or pots and pans, but they were delivered to the room promptly upon request. The showers in both of the washrooms leaked from the bathroom into the living room carpet. Apparently we had been given a handicapped accessible room which we did not need or request. Upon calling the front desk we were offered and grateful for getting another suite that would be available to us the next day. Finally we were extremely grateful for the late check out time extended to us by the front desk personnel, our flight was a red eye and the front desk personnel was more than accommodating to our needs. Other than the fire alarm going off at 5:00 am and having to evacuate 11 floors, the stay at the Platinum was a good one :). It looks like the hotel rooms have taken a bit of a beating since our first visit here. The sofas were worn and looked like CSI should check out the stains for DNA The other furnishings are showing wear and tear as well. Still a good place to stay in Vegas. And a trip to remember.
