"LOUDEST hotel I have ever stayed in"
Out of a hundred or so hotels I have stayed in, this is only one of two that I would not go back to. I understand that it is in Las Vegas but that does not mean I want to sleep in the middle of a club. Our room was literally shaking with the music that blared until 5 AM...yes, 5 AM. I ended up trying to sleep in the bathroom with no success. I was told […] that rooms farther from the pool are not as terrible but our stay was literally miserable. Multiple calls to the front desk resulted in an offer for a $30 food credit. Thanks but no thanks unless it is for something I could have stuffed in my ears. "The Rude Hotel"
While checking in the hotel clerk was very rude, I made this reservation over a month & a half ago and called two days before to confirm my room. The hotel clerk gave me a non smoking room when I asked for smoking. He said "NO, YOU REQUESTED A NON SMOKING ROOM" I explained to him that I asked for a smoking room. He then said "NO YOU DIDN't". I pulled […] out my reservation and show him that it did indeed say "smoking room". He then said "I don't guarentee that". He then said he didn't have any smoking rooms. He didn't even check. He acted like I was wasting his time and handed me the key to the non smoking room. He quickly turned and started talking with a co worker. Basicly dismissing me. I thought maybe he was just having a bad day and blew it off. But when I checked out I got the same guy and he was just as rude. He didn't say good morning, how was your stay or anything. The room I reserved, 3 months in advance, was not the room I checked into. When booking the room, they advertise a remolded room with up to date decor, but when checking into room it was old 80's room with awful smell and old tube tv. At the Palms on business, stayed in a standard room. The amenities (bed, carpet, TV, lamps, pillows, alarm clock, no desk) were such low quality. Comparable to Motel 6. I expected a lot more. "Nightmare Experience"
This was the worst and most inconvenience experience I have had staying at a hotel. We booked and paid for our rooms 2 months in advance and when we got there to check in they didn't have a room for us. So, they wanted to upgrade us to a penthouse suite but only for 1 night and move us the next day of our 4 day stay ...real accomidating for them maybe. […] When we get to our supposed upgraded suite the mattress didn't even fit the box springs, hung over about a foot, the hot tub blew water all over the places and made a huge mess, carpet was ripped. The next day we had to check out at 11am and our new rooms would not be ready until 1pm, again real accomidating more like incovenience. When we did get to check in the lady at the front desk asked if we wanted to put each room in that persons name and we said yes, she advised it would be a $200 security depoist and then ran my card for $400. She also advised it was just a hold, but the funds came out. In the new room we had no blankets when we arrived. I have had much better service from the Holiday Inn. When checking out they tried to over charge us for the resort fee, all around completely horrible service. You could not pay me enough to stay at this hotel ever again. "Run down, horrible service. Avoid at all costs."
We arrived at 730pm on a Friday with multiple bags and needed help carrying them. No bellman were outside. We were forced to make two trips to carry our bags to reception on our own. While standing in line at reception, 3 bellman were standing at the bell desk doing nothing and not one of them offered to assist. We had a very outdated corner suite in […] the Palms tower. A poor quality tube tv, no ipod player and no hotel directory of restaurants or services. Every morning there was garbage and food littering the hallways which often wasn't cleaned up until late afternoon. We stayed for 3 days. Each day our bathroom remained dirty, dirty glasses were'nt replaced with clean ones and the ice bucket was never emptied of the melted water. We asked a manager for clean glasses and it took over an hour for them to arrive. On our last night we asked for a wake up call, which of course they failed to do. Thank goodness we knew by then the service was shoddy and we used our phone alarms as backup. The biggest rip off is that the only thing you only get for the $18 a day resort fee is two 2 for 1 drink coupons and free admission (but no line passes) to their unpopular clubs. Whoopee. Overall, worst hotel experience I've had at Vegas. For the same or less price - stay at Luxor, Hard Rock or Mandalay. "One thing after another"
Checked in around 9:45PM on a Monday night for a business trip for the week. Got to my room and tried to turn on the TV to watch sports highlights while I unpacked before bed. The TV would not work. Called the front desk and was told they would send someone right up. Some showed, over an hour later. The next night I had a hard time sleeping due to the […] bowling alley in the suite directly above me. The evening after I was startled out of my sleep at 2AM when it literally sounded like people came into my room and started partying. It was next door, I waited for about 15 minutes hoping they had just come up for a night cap, but had to call the front desk to have them quiet down. After 30 minutes nothing had happened. I called again and was asked if I wanted to move rooms because if they send someone up again (no one came the first time) it would be more serious. I informed them I was not interested in packing my stuff and moving rooms at 2:30AM due to someone else breaking noise ordinances. Someone did show about 10 minutes later and asked them to turn it down so it was not audible in the hallway. The security took 10 steps down the hall and it was on again. He returned and told them if they didn't tone it down they would be kicked out. They did turn it down a bit from there. I could still hear them in my room but it was tolerable. In short, I was unimpressed with the response time of the staff. It was apparent that this hotel caters to those in town to party rather than business professionals. I have never been treated so poorly. The occasion was my daughter's 21st birthday, I stayed at New York, New York, which I would recommend. She did not have a credit card for a deposit, she called me crying, the clerks at the front desk laughed at her and the assistant manager rolled her eyes at her, what kind of employees does this hotel have? My daughter […] picked me up and I brought my card to put on her room. I speak loud and when I was telling the assistant manager how my daughter was being treated, she did not listen to me, she just kept saying you are loud and do you want me to call security. This arrognant assistant manger was threatening me with security because I was loud, I wasn't swearing, I wasn't violent, my only offense was that I was loud, wow what a threat I was. Who does the hiring there, they don't make wise decisions. I am Human Resource at my company and an employee like her would be fired. No customer service whatsoever, I would never stay there again, there are many hotel choices in Vegas where you receive respect, Palms is not one of them, you are treated very poorly. We never received a call, once we got up to our room we weren't impressed especially since they advertised this hotel as a 5 star hotel. I had booked the hotel room and the description was for "superior" room with Frette linens, etc. I thought I was paying for an upgraded room. The linens were NOT Frette and I was told by the front desk that indeed I still had the "superior" room. I did not feel as though it was worth the extra money.
