In the foothills of the Spring Mountains, Summerlin is a planned community once owned by eccentric mogul Howard Hughes. Northwest Las Vegas is a golfer’s haven: about a dozen courses are open to the public. Red Rock Canyon offers spectacular vistas accessible via a 13-mile scenic drive and 30 miles of hiking trails. Hikes around Mount Charleston provide a welcome respite from the Vegas heat.

"Quiet off the strip in a great area!"
Beautiful properties with a ton of amenities. The Spa is amazing. Service and staff is excellent!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I will stay here again. I liked that the casino was not in the hotel and it was family friendly with a fun pool and a great workout area and spa.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great!"
After fighting traffic on the strip for two nights, this was a welcome relief. Huge, beautiful rooms, quiet and relaxing. Easy proximity back to the strip and airport.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Business Conference in Sin City"
The room was wonderful! Very clean and spacious with 10' ceilings! Plenty of room in the restroom as well - separate shower (with "rain" shower head) and tub was a welcome plus. Front Desk, Valet, Room Service, Cleaning staffs were all top notch, very professional, welcoming, and attentive. The location was a few miles west of The Strip but that turned […] out to be a plus also. If there was another rating for the Casino, I'd give that 5+. Always helps when you leave a winner!!! "Nice hotel staff;WIFI not too good;Gym needs help;Too Smokey"
Hotel was very clean, good grounds, nice rooms. Staff was excellent. WIFI was an option (charge per day) and not very good. I had difficulty using my iPad in room even after paying daily fee. Each tower had a separate WIFI system. Gym was not very updated. You could use the “spa” gym which looked better but was also an additional fee per day. Was in […] the hotel for a conference; Any time I needed to go to/from the room to conference center or restaurants, needed to go through smoke-filled casino. Also could smell smoke at some of the restaurants while eating. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Wish the conference had been held at J.W. rather than Red Rocks Resort"
I was very disappointed in the fact that they don't have a free shuttle from the airport as the Red Rocks Resort does, as well as a shuttle to the Strip. The housekeeping staff were somewhat surly, but not a big deal. Loved the Irish Pub - ate there every single night - with ALL of Las Vegas to choose from! LOVED the atmosphere of the J.W. - as compared […] to the garish "Vegas glitz" of the Red Rocks Resort. I have ALREADY recommended the J.W. to friends and colleagues, and I've only been home TWO days! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Place if not so out of the way"
The resort itself was lovely; the grounds were beautiful and the hotel was nice. Staff were very helpful. The resort is well away from the airport and the Las Vegas Strip, however, and it is very expensive to get to/from the airport and expensive and inconvenient to get downtown without having a rental car. A good place if you're looking for a staying […] put kind of vacation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
