Glittering, larger-than-life gambling palaces dominate Las Vegas Boulevard South, better known as The Strip. Here, hotels are destinations unto themselves. Within a three-mile stretch, visitors can see the New York City skyline, the Eiffel Tower, an Egyptian pyramid, imperial Rome, a dancing fountain, and an exploding volcano. A monorail links several hotels and the Las Vegas Convention Center.

I've stayed here a few times but never again. "Mysterious rrrRRRRRrrr noise, Mirage does nothing"
The hotel was okay, but nothing special. The service was terrible. After the conference I went to my room to go to bed (around 9:30). Pretty lame, but I had an early flight. In bed, I heard a strange noise (rrrrRRRRRrrr RRRRRR) that lasted 2 seconds and came almost randomly, every 2 minutes. I hoped it would go away or that I'd be able to sleep through […] it. It never went away. Around 11:30, I got up to investigate. I thought it was coming from the hallway, so I went out and waited for the noise so I could catch it! The noise came again, but this time it seemed like it was coming from the other side of my room. Back and forth and all around I maneuvered, listening to walls, perching in all corners of the room, but couldn't find the source. At 1, I called the desk. They sent up a maintenance guy to fix my A/C. Okay, I thought, but it's not the A/C. He found the A/C working fine, and probably thought I was crazy when I explained the rrrRRRRRrrr RRRRR sound. He was leaving (told me to ‘Try to get some sleep’) and he heard it! ‘That’s an alarm outside. It was loud!’ After investigating, it wasn't an outside alarm. After searching more, he left, unsuccessful, and told me to "Try to get some sleep". Gee, thanks. I didn't sleep much at all. The Mirage did nothing. I will never stay there again, will go out of my way to spread my dissatisfaction, and will tell the conference that we should go elsewhere. Oh, and the white bathmat had a brown stain - gross (zing!). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stay away.. Really bad experience"
Oh my god.. I am going through the worst experience so far in Vegas. Booked at Mirage for our Christmas break thinking that they are known for their hospitality, decor and central location. But what a GRAND disappointment this has been so far!Genuine Expedia guest review
"No sleep at the Mirage... even when you need it."
Yes, it is Vegas... the city that does not sleep. Subsequently, when selecting this resort we assumed that the room we paid for would provide us an opportunity to get sleep when needed. Our room was directly above the night club and the base resonated and prevented us from getting needed sleep. The plumbing was faulty and the noises would also wake […] us. When all is said and done we had limited opportunities to sleep - especially when we needed it and made an effort. I ended up missing a meeting and a good 1/2 day of fun as I ended up sleeping one day from 5a to 11a. When speaking with the concierge, she "tried" to hear my concerns but presented as condescending and repeatedly commented about not understanding what the problem is. "Really". For this type of experience, I would consider a Motel 6 and or a cheap hotel. Certainly NOT what is expected from a resort of this caliber. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Stay elsewhere"
Been to Las Vegas about 40 times in my life, I stay at different Hotels and I have my favorites but this time it was the worst stay ever. I went to check in at 2:00 pm and my room wasn't ready, I don't know how many rooms are in that place but mine was the only one not ready. So after a 4 1/2 hour drive I had to wait in the lobby for another hour and […] a half. So now I finally get my room, so we went to the pool and when we get back to our room the keys don't work..so after 3 trips from the 21st floor to the hotel desk (anyone who's stayed there knows its a hike), every time they assured me these keys would work, well they didn't. So now they have to send up an employee to change my lock out at 10:00 at night, after that I was ready to go home. And what was so funny is every time I went to the desk to tell them my keys don't work they had to check my bill to see if the credit card was good for the 5th time, like that had anything to do with it. I would never stay there again. It was like work not a vacation. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I would love to be able to contact the top managment at this hotel to get some satisfaction about the fact that I WAS ROBBED AT THIS HOTEL! Hello All: If you are looking forward to Vegas this is a nice place in the middle of the Strip. I stayed in a Deluxe King room along with my wife. The room was good and with all the facilities but I got bit all over my body my BED BUGS. I wont recommend this place if you cannot sleep with bed bugs biting you, and if you dont want to bring them home […] in your clothes and luggage bags. When I was checking out I told the front desk about the problem and they gave me a case number to follow up after 72 hours, when I called them after 3 days they said the report was negetive and no bed bugs were found in the hotel room. I had to wash all my clothes and throw away the luggage bags as I didn't want to infect my house. They know that no one will go back to that place to fight that they are lying. I have not been able to sleep or work properly for the last 4 days because of the rashes and itching, this is not what I went to do in Vegas. City that never sleeps and Mirage wont let you sleep!!! "Nightclub will keep you up"
I stayed at the Mirage during Labor Day weekend and after staying at many properties on the strip was looking forward to staying here for the first time. That feeling didn't last. The nightclub blared techno music until 4 am every night and the music kept me up that late even after inserting ear plugs. WHY would the Mirage even rent out rooms near […] the club if they can't sound proof it first? When I ordered room service the salad and carrot juice were fine but the pizza had a long black hair in it. If you must stay at the Mirage, which I can't recommend, don't let them put you in the North Tower -- that's where the nightclub is -- and if you order room service the good news is you don't need to buy dental floss. "Needs some Room Rehab"
Although the Mirage is centrally located on the Strip, everything is very far apart. It's a long walk thru the casino to get from the front desk to the room elevators. There are lots of food choices in the hotel, but like everywhere else, they are very expensive. Our room was in desperate need of some serious cleaning and upgrades. The furniture was […] dirty, there was lime-crud on the faucet, mold on the grab bar and some kind of mystery goo on the refrigerator. The sheets had stains, and the carpet needed cleaning. The ventilation system must spew some kind of dust because the housekeeping crew did clean the room, and hours later there was dust covering everything again. Many issues were really about poor maintenance. I showed them to the front desk manager and they did offer to move us to another room, but I thought they were probably all the same. I think there are better places to stay in Las Vegas. The employees -- nice, but sort of uninterested. The "luxury" bath products are made in China. The pool is big and beautiful, but you must stake out your lounger at 8am. The lines for coffee in the morning were insane. There are no coffee makers or robes in the rooms.
