"Mysterious rrrRRRRRrrr noise, Mirage does nothing"
The hotel was okay, but nothing special. The service was terrible. After the conference I went to my room to go to bed (around 9:30). Pretty lame, but I had an early flight. In bed, I heard a strange noise (rrrrRRRRRrrr RRRRRR) that lasted 2 seconds and came almost randomly, every 2 minutes. I hoped it would go away or that I'd be able to sleep through […] it. It never went away. Around 11:30, I got up to investigate. I thought it was coming from the hallway, so I went out and waited for the noise so I could catch it! The noise came again, but this time it seemed like it was coming from the other side of my room. Back and forth and all around I maneuvered, listening to walls, perching in all corners of the room, but couldn't find the source. At 1, I called the desk. They sent up a maintenance guy to fix my A/C. Okay, I thought, but it's not the A/C. He found the A/C working fine, and probably thought I was crazy when I explained the rrrRRRRRrrr RRRRR sound. He was leaving (told me to ‘Try to get some sleep’) and he heard it! ‘That’s an alarm outside. It was loud!’ After investigating, it wasn't an outside alarm. After searching more, he left, unsuccessful, and told me to "Try to get some sleep". Gee, thanks. I didn't sleep much at all. The Mirage did nothing. "No sleep at the Mirage... even when you need it."
Yes, it is Vegas... the city that does not sleep. Subsequently, when selecting this resort we assumed that the room we paid for would provide us an opportunity to get sleep when needed. When all is said and done we had limited opportunities to sleep - especially when we needed it and made an effort. I ended up missing a meeting and a good 1/2 day of fun as I ended up sleeping one day from 5a to 11a. Been to Las Vegas about 40 times in my life, I stay at different Hotels and I have my favorites but this time it was the worst stay ever. Hello All: If you are looking forward to Vegas this is a nice place in the middle of the Strip. I stayed in a Deluxe King room along with my wife. The room was good and with all the facilities but I got bit all over my body my BED BUGS. I wont recommend this place if you cannot sleep with bed bugs biting you, and if you dont want to bring them home […] in your clothes and luggage bags. When I was checking out I told the front desk about the problem and they gave me a case number to follow up after 72 hours, when I called them after 3 days they said the report was negetive and no bed bugs were found in the hotel room. "Needs some Room Rehab"
Although the Mirage is centrally located on the Strip, everything is very far apart. It's a long walk thru the casino to get from the front desk to the room elevators. There are lots of food choices in the hotel, but like everywhere else, they are very expensive. Our room was in desperate need of some serious cleaning and upgrades. Many issues were really about poor maintenance. I showed them to the front desk manager and they did offer to move us to another room, but I thought they were probably all the same. "POOR SERVICE"
stayed 3 nights, only the last day did the room get cleaned. Service in the bars extremly poor, especially the Rhumbar, staff more interested in talking to other staff members except for the sport bar good service there. Overall a sad and tired looking place, no smiles or good morning from staff. No complaints about the check-in and out staff very helpful […] and friendly. "Mirage in Las Vegas"
Good hotel, great value! The room was spacious with a great view; Love the location and the absence of sales persons / aka "promoters" on the property. "Not Impressed,"
Hotel rooms were very loud, the walls let you hear every consersation, noises travel. The hair drier was never fixed or replaced. Manaaagement refused to do anything about the noise problem. They said that it is Vegas and weeksends are loud. However I stayed at 7 other major hotels and this problem did not happen. I do not recommend anyone staying there.
