"Too many negatives."
First of all they added an additional $20 per night when you check in that was not disclosed when reservations were made. No coffee pot-want you to buy coffee from their vendors. Since we were only going for one night, I packed no shampoo or conditioner. The design of the hotel is really good and classy. Housekeeping was really bad. They didnt clean our room nicely. Also, we asked for smoking room, but they put us into a non smoking or also they said if we want to have smoking room we have to pay 100 dollars more a day. The Venetian just isn't what it used to be. We've been staying here for more than 6 years for our wedding anniversary; this will be our last time. While the fine dining restaurants are fabulous, the bar staff & the smaller fast food places have lost the idea of customer service. The price for our room was expensive. I was expecting much more for my money. The rooms are about as average as other Las Vegas rooms. They just have more furniture. "Vulgar maze likely to induce epilepsy"
From the moment we arrived in Vegas I realised we'd come to the wrong place and the hotel can't be blamed for that - Vegas is not for us - nor can it be blamed for the awful guests staying there. However, I'd hoped that we could escape the worst of Vegas by staying in a classy hotel. Venezia is not that. It's a vulgar maze, impossible to navigate with […] corridors miles long. We spent 30 minutes trying to locate the pool. There are at least 3 hotels in this complex joined together, adding to the confusion, and it would help if they had more distinctive names. The suite was beautiful and supremely comfortable but lacked the extras usually found in a 5-star hotel. I had to phone for bathrobes and the toiletries were minimal. They didn't even provide one complimentary bottle of water. We ate at the French restaurant where the food and service were excellent but, like everywhere else in the hotel, it was noisy. Deafening slot machines and loud guests are bad enough but the hotel has to add to the noise pollution with over-the-top BGM. I recently stayed in a suite at the Venetian for a weekend. I found myself disappointed on several occasions during the stay. The room itself was ok , but I couldn't help but notice that some of the furniture looked worn out or slightly outdated The customer service was average, meaning for every 2 people that were rude there was 1 person who would […] go above and beyond as far as customer service went. The discrepancy in the attitude of the staff was irritating because I never knew what I was going to get when I called the front desk or asked for help. Another disappointing aspect was that one of the hotel robes that hung in the closet was really old and torn up. It literally looked like it was fit to be a cleaning rag. The sign on it said that I could purchase one just like it at the front desk? No thanks. Also one of the pillow cases that was on my bed had what looked to be old mildew stains that house keeping had tried unsuccessfully to remove. The one morning that I ordered room service, there were aspects to the food that was served that screamed low budget. On a final, personal note, the hotel itself was just too big for me. Taking two elevators and walking down two large hallways is a bit much when you are trying to find your way down to the lobby and out the front door. This Hotel was definitely not for me. "Beware! The Venetian Is No 4 Star Hotel"
While the staff is pleasant, I would not recommend this hotel. There are only a few things I need to be happy and unfortunately they failed on two big ones. One of the other important things to me is an Internet connection that works. So if you want or need a stable Internet connection during your stay in Vegas, the Venetian is not a good option. And the cafe my wife and I ate at (can't remember the name), provided terrible service and got our order wrong two times. For the expectations that I had for this hotel, it was very disappointing. First of all from the self parking area we had to catch a series of elevators and stairs to the lobby/registration area. The directions posted along the hotel were not clear and we noticed we were not the only ones getting lost. I walked over to one clerk that was open and she was very rude replying that she was not ready and did not even make eye contact. While gambling at the tables it took over 30 minutes to get a waitress, service was so bad that one time at a table a group of 4 left the hotel to go gamble somewhere else […] because of lack of service. They cashed out over 5k in chips. Funny thing is they told the pit boss that if they didn't get some service that they would leave. We were at that specific table for over 30 minutes. The hallway outside our room smelt of mold. There was an additional $157 charge for the three night stay for taxes and fees per room.
