Glittering, larger-than-life gambling palaces dominate Las Vegas Boulevard South, better known as The Strip. Here, hotels are destinations unto themselves. Within a three-mile stretch, visitors can see the New York City skyline, the Eiffel Tower, an Egyptian pyramid, imperial Rome, a dancing fountain, and an exploding volcano. A monorail links several hotels and the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"Great Hotel for the Price"
Went to Vegas for a trip with 2 friends and we really enjoyed our stay, after walking the strip and exploring the other hotels it was SO nice to come back and walk in the lobby and have things be relatively quiet and calm. The staff was great, our beds were really comfy, and we had a view that overlooked the strip. The monorail was convenient but we […] mainly took cabs because it was about the same price, $8-15 (3 way split) depending on where we wanted to go, and the monorail is $5 one way. Overall it was a great stay if you want some where quiet to come back to after a crazy night! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Right by cross bridges"
Overall satified with hotel. The room was clean and had a nice view to the strip. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and clean. No external noises in the hallways; however, throughout the night everytime somebody in another room was using the shower we heard the pipes run. The T.V. does not have many free channels and the wifi does not work. […] There is a resort fee for every night spent in the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Tropicana Comfy"
The hotel is smaller than most of the others on the strip, but that staff was great even the dealers at the tables were very nice. Good pool wont be to crowded and my bed and pillows were very comfortable!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mid week getaway"
Room was newly remodeled and large for the price. Within walking distance to many other casinos.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location, nice hotel!"
great location, close to the Strip and to the airport (you don't have to pay too much for a cab), nice hotel, nice pool (with green spaces)!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Value..."
Our stay at the New Tropicana was great. Close to everything we needed to get to and very clean. Casino is small and offers several $5 balckjack tables which was nice. Only downfall of the Trop is that the food selection is not great. No buffet but across the walkway at Excalibur they have a big one. Would definitley go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The service was horrible!"
Upon check-in the front desk person was rude ! The room smelled musty! The towels ( only two) were damp! I bought a can of Lysol and sprayed everything in the room! The room was noisy! No curtains, just shutters and was blinded by lights outside on the wall! There were picketers outside promoting deplorable hotel conditions! The Starbucks was good . […] The slot machines paid but the hotel itself was disgusting! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Party Time"
My husband and I decided to stay at Tropicana Las Vegas for a weekend with friends and family, and we made the right choice. Great location, clean environment, fast check in/out, friendly staff, easy access to Las Vegas Strip, great view, if you request something the hotel tries to do their best to make sure you have it :-)...the only thing is parking, […] parking was crazy you're better off getting valet parking, other than that everything was great. "Four stars is too much..."
The Tropicana hotel definitely looks cheaper than the other hotels, with the casino dealers having advertisment t-shirts on instead of something nice. Not really much happening there at night, we wound up going to Planet Hollywood and Cosmopolitan instead. It's a bit of a tacky Florida feeling there. The pool area and breakfast restaurant are nice though. […] The rooms were definitely not very well cleaned, however we complained about this several times and they waivered our resort fee and gave us free breakfast, which was nice. The hotel is a bit south on the strip, it's walkable but with all the people you're better off taking a taxi if you're going to the other end of the strip. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nicely Renovated"
I hadn't been in the Tropicana before their renovation because I thought it was dingy. I chose it this time because the pictures on the website looked relatively nice. I had stayed at Monte Carlo two previous times and it was dingy. I also got a great price ($100/night) on hotels.com. I am not happy with the fact that each person in my room needed to […] pay the $19.99 resort fee since it didn't really pay for anything we needed for our short stay. However, the rooms were nice and I liked that it was a little bit off the main strip and there were a ton of people surrounding the entrance. The Italian restaurant, Bacio, was delicious. The Beach House was pretty good too. All of the reception and concierge people we spoke to were helpful. I will definitely stay at the Tropicana again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Vegas 50th birthday"
Hotel is being renovated, very small casino, low ceiling unlike grand casino's on the strip, so a little disappointing. But rooms were nice, comfortable. Played Craps and had a great roll.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Better than expected...mostly"
I actually live in Vegas, but had a staycation with friends in town for a concert at the MGM right across the street. We loved the smaller boutique-vibe of the casino and the rooms were nicely remodeled and spacious. Loved the bedding, which I'm a stickler about. The two downsides were that housekeeping didn't come to our room until requested when we […] left at 5:30, even though we had left for the pool earlier in the day. And speaking of the pool. Stay to the right side of the pool if you'd like a relaxing day, otherwise, you're right next the "day club" pool at the neighboring property with nonstop, loud, thumping music. :-( Overall, however, great place to stay! "not very impressed this time around"
there were several, and I mean several slot machines down the whole time we were there. Some days rows of them were out of order. Were ripped off twice at the back bar poker machine, withdrawal ticket stuck in machine and waited 30 minutes for help. Put on construction floor with lots of early morning noise. No drink service at night time while playing […] slots. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location OK"
The location of the Tropicana is at one end of the strip. I would suggest getting a bus pass (less than ten dollars for a 24hr pass) because there is a stop right outside of the hotel. One bus stops at every hotel on the strip [figured this out on the last day of my trip :( ] The hotel smells great when you walk in. The hotel staff are friendly but […] very disorganized and slow at getting things corrected. We didn't stay in the room for long but it was a nice place to rest for a few hours. I would probably stay at a more centered location next time I visited Vegas. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location, great staff, clean and comfortable"
I am so glad we chose the Tropicana. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to help me find a picture I had left the night before. Pool was comfortable. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Good location to get to the other casinos. Not as fancy as some of the other hotels but that is great for me. Would highly recommend it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Club tower is a long walk"
The club tower in the Tropicana is quite a hike compared to the other tower. Our door lock didn't open twice, but then maintenance came and fixed it. But it was still a pain to wait for security to come let us into our room late at night. All staff was polite and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice stay in Vegas"
My friend and I went to Vegas for a girls getaway weekend and chose to stay at the Tropicana based on the positive reviews and good price. We were not disappointed in our selection. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We had an excellent view of the strip and the pool area below. The only negative was that they start playing music loudly at […] the pool around 11am and it lasts till about 4pm preventing you from sleeping later (which is sometimes need in Vegas ha ha) or taking a mid-day nap. The outdoor pool area is nice and relaxing with plenty of space and lounge chairs for catching some sun. The casino area in the hotel is small, but accomodating. There are a few restaurants, a snack shop and other conveniences there as well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Had some issues"
Overall had a good stay at Tropicana. When we arrived, they gave us the wrong room (it was already occupied). Also had a problem with a pipe bursting and not being able to use any water for a couple of hours. We did get a resort fee credit (I actually didn't even know I was going to be charged for that) and a food credit. The updates to the hotel are […] very nice. Plenty of food choices there. Room and bed were very comfortable and clean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not bad if you get a good deal"
So, I will first say that I stayed here because of the price (and the fact they honor Hilton points). I also know that generally (especially in Vegas) you get what you pay for. Having usually stayed at Wynn/Encore/Caesars, I knew going in that this would not measure up. That said, I do expect a minimum level of service that they fell short on here. […] My biggest gripes were: 1) The maid service only came ONCE in 4 days. We had to track down a housekeeper in the hall and get towels for 3 out of the 4 days. (Though it was not too hard to find them because they were often in hotel rooms, with the door open, sitting on the bed, watching TV.) Further, 2) They had the brilliant idea to do maintenance on the water lines on a Friday night at 7:30PM! Therefore, we had NO WATER. No shower, no sink, no toilet... for 2 hours! They offered nothing to accommodate us and seemed surprised that I was upset. After getting a manger, they offered us a room in the other tower to shower in... All in all, an unfortunate ordeal that will make me think twice about booking there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"I underestimated this place"
We had a phenomenal view of the strip. Check in was fast, $20 resesort fee sucked, but it didn't ruin my stay. It looked really high end. Overall it was really great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, cool elegance"
I was very impressed with the clean decor and understated elegance in this Las Vegas Strip icon. With the exception of the somewhat worn carpets in the casino, everything was bright withe marble and cool elegance. A very easy casino to navigate by Strip standards, and the breakfast buffet was well worth the wait. I didn't have a chance to enjoy the […] pool, but I'll be back! "Someone pick up the phone..."
We were very satisfied with our stay at the Tropicana. We were upgraded to a better room due to our lower cost room not being available when we got there and had an 8th floor room with a great view of the strip. The biggest weakness they have is their automated answering service for the hotel. We rarely got through to a person or got answers to questions. […] The resort fee is a single charge for your entire stay, but I never saw that clarified in any review I read about the Tropicana. The remodeling of the hotel made it very pleasing. The hotel lacks any middle of the road restaurants and so we never ate there. I think every hotel is obligated to offer at least a good breakfast option, and they didn't. They offered "free gourmet cookies," but didn't explain how to actually pick them up? The front desk person that checked us in didn't go over any details of our stay. I didn't care for the limited hours they had for their fitness center. I like to exercise after 7:00 PM, but I guess they prefer to see their guests gambling instead of doing something healthy. I would definitely return in spite of the mini-complaints we had because the room was superior and the location on the strip is great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Standard"
After hearing so many people talk about the new remodeled Tropicana I was excited to see it for myself. I stayed there about 3 years ago and was not impressed. Upon arrival the most noticeable upgrade was the outside of the building. It looked like it had white plastic wrap melted to the outside! The rooms were decent, and standard for the price. The […] casino and pool looked exactly the same, and no new restaurants were added. All in all, good value but don't expect anything lavish Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel was decent for the price. Accommodations were up to standard but nothing overly impressive.Service personnel at the front desk was very nice over the phone. Maid service, however, was a little sloppy. Parts of the room amd bathroom had visible dust. My phone must have gotten caught in there vacuum cleaner. "nicely updated"
My only complaint is "resort fees" still don't get it and none of the features I found listed are things I use on a over night party and crash weekend in vegas seems like a way to offer low prices and make up the difference in fees.
