We wanted to be away from the mega casinos and the Riv fit the bill perfectly. It was quiet and low key. Loved the revamped room in the Monacco Tower ..... view was of the back lot but the bed was awesome. The pool was closed but looked beautiful. The buffet was closed for dinner because it was slow...understandable. Eat at the Pub..nicest bartender and good food. Comedy show was hysterical. The casino was clean. Nothing smelled like smoke at all. Valets were awesome. Only downside was we had unlimited access to the room safe... and there was no safe in the room. Great value and not a bad walk. Try the PEPPER MILL next door...awesome coffee and omelets. So big we split one. by robin from texas on 04/19/13

They always say you get what you pay for, but the Riviera was much better than expected. There was a lot of construction very close by, but not their fault. Otherwise very close to the other big hotels on the strip. The room was very nice and clean, no issues at all. I appreciated that our hotel wasn't as busy and loud as the other hotels. I enjoyed the casino in our hotel the most. The staff was very friendly. The hotel had a weird smell to it and so did the sewage in the bathroom. The view from our room was terrible but overall I enjoyed my stay

The only good thing is that they upgraded my room to a luxury room that wasn't very luxuriously which i would hated to see the classic room. When I arrived with my paper work in hand i was told there weren't any more rooms available and that I would have to pay $25 more a night for an upgrade. I thought my reservations were paid in advance to insure I was guaranteed a room. Also I had to pay a $15 recovery charge per night at check out lousy service

We love the room an the the hole hotel but when we were there the power went out for a couple of hours and was not cool but other then that it was great.

The Riviera is like the hotel/casino that time forgot. It's too far from the main part of the strip. A cab ride to the happening spots ranged anywhere from $12-$30 per trip. They charge a resort fee and I have no idea why. Luckily, I upgraded to a luxury room which was tolerable but we had friends stay in a regular room. The room was nice, didn't eat on the hotel grounds. Didn't love the starlite theatre. Don't attend any events there! Overall the rooms were nice and the check in staff was pleasant. The information booth staff wasn't super nice.

Our check in was fast but somehow I missed that thet would put a 50 dollar hold on our card for resort fees when we checked out, although I knew about the resort fees.
