Gold Coast Hotel and Casino

While this hotel is off the strip and the casino is not as refined as those on the strip, the price you pay gives you a hotel room that is a modern and clean as anything you'd find on the strip. There is a shuttle that drops off at the Flamingo that is included in the resort fee. For my money, I'd stay here over the PH, Trop, Exclaibur or NYNY.

We were very disappointed with the check in service and the location of our room. We were right above the kitchen and at 4 AM the noise was crazy. I really like the Gold Coast, it has a better price for longer stays and is not far off the strip. Your buffet is good for the money, and your staff is very friendly. You have everything in the casino, except what I play the most and that is Texas Holdem. You are right next to the Rio and very close to the rest of the strip. I would say that I would give the Gold Coast 100%, but on the second floor where I stayed, the vending machine didn't work and there was a cockroach that came from under the ice machine. This is an older hotel but it was very clean and comfortable. I recommend staying above the 3rd floor so you'll have a view. Everything else was great. The restaurants were awesome, bowling was fun, and the casino was not overwhelmingly crowded.

Booked "Premium" Room - realized that the door to the bathroom does not slide well or lock, shower door was unfinished - one glass wall with half of the shower exposed. My friend had bug bites after one night. Overall, not so good experience, would not recommend.

This hotel is a little off the strip but they have a free shuttle to take you to the strip which was nice. It's kind of a little older looking but very clean and the rooms look upgraded and new. The beds were double beds instead of normal queens beds so they were a bit smaller than used to in the other hotels in vegas. I booked a premiere room with two double beds for me and my two girlfriends for a night so we could have a little get away and relax & have some fun .When we checked in, we were told there weren't any rooms with dbl. beds left but they could give us a king rm with a rollaway so we went with that since we didn't have any other options. When we got to […] the room, it looked nothing like the picture of the newly remodeled premiere room that I booked so I called to the front desk and they had put us in a standard room so they switched us to a premeire room that the lady with the rollaway led us to and after opening the door, said, oh...this room won't work. I peeked in the door and the mattress was up against the wall and the room was a mess so we ended up down the hall and after we got settled in, I noticed the room smelled like damp carpet, really musty. After spraying perfume all over the room we left for dinner hoping to come back and have it aired out a bit. When we got back, the room although it looked nice and had a comfy king bed, still smelled and I ended up on the incredibly uncomfortable rollaway bed and got very little sleep as a result. The next morning, I told the staff of our inconvient night and they were very helpful and friendly and refunded my $ since I didn't exactly get what I paid for. Gold Coast was a great deal. The shuttle to the strip came every half hour but stopped running at midnight so we always took a cab back. The hotel was clean and comfortable. TGIF's for room service, seriously? That's a little lame. The lighting in the room is terrible, you can barely see to put makeup on. The temperature control is difficult because in order to get it warm the vents blow so hard it creates a strong wind which then makes it cold again. Ok, It's not the expensive 5 star resort Vegas is known for BUT it's way better than anything in it's own class, room was clean and cozy and everything worked. The hotel had lots of great options including affordable fine dining at the Cortez Room, and Friday's was available as a family dining option. If you visiting Vegas and you only need a room to shower and sleep I highly recommend Gold Coast as a home base. No shuttle from the airport, rode the Gray Line to the hotel. We checked in, no problems. Our first room was on the 8th floor. We stayed in the Premium room. Very nice. Our TV went out on the 2nd day. Maintenance was very slow/took up many hours trying to fix it. They couldn't. We were moved to the 5th floor (no help from bell man since he was, "on […] a run"...we had to do all ourselves. ) We asked for compensation for our trouble. They gave us buffet vouchers (2). We asked for more. They tried to pawn us off with more vouchers, but my husband held strong and we did get a free night. I liked the hotel. I liked that they had a shuttle to the strip.
