"The beds were super hard"
I stayed at the lvh n it was not a good experience, the beds were so stiff and hard woke up with my shoulders neck and back all sore. The restroom was real small, the shower was tiny, the style of the room seemed very old school, I would have might as well stayed at a motel 6 or something! The LVH offers all the amenities of the newer Strip hotels but it's quieter and a little more sane. The public areas could use a facelift, but the rooms are very comfortable and nice. "Nice Stay, but could be better"
I was not impressed with the first room we were in. We had book a room with a King Bed and ended up with a small, uncomfortable Murphy Bed. The shower drain was also clogged. The mini-suite we were in the second night was a lot better, nice large comfortable bed, large shower (no tub) , large living area/dinning table, patio with a view of the strip, […] oh and nice large walk-in closest! We got a good deal on the hotel, but if you're going to stay here I think paying for the better room would be worth it, particularly since I like a more comfortable bed. The pool was nice, we used a cabana which was nice for us since the actual pool caters to families and there was a lot of children running around. The spa was also really nice. Lots of amenities and access to a sauna, steam room, and large Jacuzzi. It's even nice that LVH is located on the tram for easy access to the strip. If your looking for an affordable stay in Vegas that still offers some nice amenities, then this is a good choice. Wearing of room offerings though, they charge for in-room coffee! Our stay was very nice. We just wanted to get away for a few days and this was the perfect hotel for us. In the description of the room we reserved, it mentioned robes and slippers, but there were none. We did not ask about it because it was not going to make or break the stay. We bring our own anyway! Over all stay was good. The only complaints I would have is that we requested a non-smoking room, and were given a smoking room. Room was also next to the elevator, and you could hear the elevator all night. The elevator wait at check out was pretty long. Elevators were already full when they would finally reach our floor. "Not bad but NOT close to good!"
When we got to our room i noticed the carpet was dirty! The bed want properly made and it was hard, there was still trash and it looked as if the carpet wasn't vaccumed. "Great getaway"
LVH is a great getaway hotel. The monorail makes it simple to connect to the strip. We paid a small fee and upgraded our room pkg to the lounge. Well worth the fee!!! "Not happy with LVH"
It was terrible -- I was thinking that LVH had cleaned up and maybe was running better than it had in the years previous, but I was WAY wrong. First, we of course had to wait forever to get checked in, but that is standard Friday night in Vegas - no problem. We get our room and go up to leave our things and have a drink - too bad no one cleaned our […] room. The room was half cleaned, but towels and soaps replaced, but NO sheets on the bed and a pile of other linens near it. It seems to have still had decorations on the ceiling from the last quests - so we call the Desk and they say they are sending someone. So we leave and come back about an hour later - no one had came up to clean the room. We called again, and no manager to be found, of course -- so they tell us we are getting a new room. The bell hop brings us keys to a smaller room, with a smaller bed. "Great deal!! Nice experience"
Our stay at the LVH was great! The room was an incredible deal and the Resorts Club upgrade was WELL worth the extra money...we had free sodas, water, coffee, wine, beer and snacks anytime we wanted! The newly remodeled room was very nice and comfortable. The only down side was there is a few inch gap under the main door, which made it so we could hear […] very loud guests from time to time coming down the hallway. It was pretty annoying at 3:00 am! This area of Las Vegas is kind of "ghetto", so if you're looking for the Las Vegas strip vibe, this isn't the place for you. "Mardi Gras in Vegas"
Stayed 1 night at the LVH. We got there before check-in time and the only room with a King sized bed was in the upgraded selection. We paid the extra $ 20 so we could check in early. Room was in the North Tower. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The faucet on the tub had a slow drip, but other than that there are no other complaints about the […] room. Since the casinos were next to the main lobby, you could smell smoke as you walked by. I don't like the smell of cigarettes so I would just walk quickly until I got to the elevator. Extra info! The best way to get around Vegas is by public transit - $8.00/24 hour period. You have to walk a short distance from the LVG to get to the pickup/ drop off areas. Taxis are very expensive. "Not like it used to be"
Being from the area I remembered the old Las Vegas Hilton (now LVH) as a nice place for out-of-town guests and a change of pace from the Strip. While still a respectable establishment, it's a far cry from its better days. The service and condition of the LVH has dropped considerably. Another one of the older icons failing to adjust to the changes that […] the newer competition is providing. There seemed to be a lack of overall staffing. Only two staff available during check-in (on Super Bowl weekend which is a traditionally busy time), the cafe only had two servers manning the entire floor, they even had limited security personnel to respond to an incident our floor. If you are looking for a deal on a fairly priced room the LVH is not the worst option but not the best, or only deal, available. Keep looking if you have time. The rooms are clean, but nosy (rooms all have a connecting door), service is slow, and there are limited dinning and entertainment options. "Vegas Best Kept Secret"
We needed a place to stay while traveling thru Vegas and this one had a great price. We were VERY pleasantly surprised at how amazing this hotel is. Maintenance showed up - unexpectedly - to repair the drapes. That took an hour of our time. The sink did not drain, brushing our teeth was a task. The shower water (at first I thought would not turn on) would not turn off all the way so we had to keep the bathroom door shut to reduce the noise, even though the AC fan was very loud - nice that it was […] loud enough to drown out the noise from the hall. The hotel staff was very nice. I've stayed at many hotels in both bettter - and worse - condition. THe staff made the hotel stay very acceptable. "Meh"
The Hilton was always kind of a "no-frills" resort and that describes the LVH. There are not many exciting things to do on site. The "Spacequest" area was closed the entire time we were there. The gift shop/sundries shop closed at midnight. The room was basic, but had noticeable defects: the shower had mildew; the room air filter was disgustingly dirty; […] housekeeping knocked on the door at 9am. Our room (north tower, west side) did have a great view of the strip. The only reason we stayed here was because it was so affordable.
