My husband and our stay was great but my parents who went with us and they are 86 and 89 years old had to stay in non-smoking handicapped room the first... night which was awful for them to smell that smoke but the front desk person made sure they had a non-smoking room the next day for the reminder of their stay. I don't understand why this happen since I made the reservations on December 27th along with ours requesting that they have a non-smoking handicapped room. They travel with us since they cannot drive.I even check a few times before arrival to make sure that they would have this non-smoking handicapped room. So other than that incident everything was ok. We are planniing to go back in December and my parents are going with us, I hope this does not happen again because they really look forward to going to Las Vegas, by Cindy  from Riverside on 05/12/13

    Overview

A rockin' good time on Fremont Street

The D Las Vegas puts you on Fremont Street. There, 2 million light bulbs and 550,000 watts of sound line 5 blocks of fun. With free valet parking, you can leave your car and take a stroll through downtown Vegas. A must-do is Flightlinez, Fremont Street's thrilling zip line.

The D features a rocking casino scene with music and dancing dealers. The hotel's nightlife options include Longbar for socializing, Vue Bar for casino venues, and the D Bar, which features dancing waitresses and performing bartenders.

On ground level, a pool and hot tub provide nice diversions from the Fremont Street thrills. The D also houses a McDonald's for quick comfort food when you need it.

Guestrooms at The D provide essential relaxation, featuring Serta mattresses and shower tubs with Bath and Body Works toiletries. Rooms on the backside of the hotel also shield you from the Fremont Street party noise, so you can rest. Cable TV and in-room WiFi are standard.

Las Vegas offers education as well as fun. The Mob Museum is a 6-minute walk from The D. The Neon Museum displays vintage Vegas signage 1 mile north of The D. Across from the Neon is Lied Discovery Children's Museum in Heritage Park.

This is the noisiest place we have ever stayed. So noisy it forced us to gamble elsewhere. They deliberately placed dancers at the blackjack tables that created distractions. Their elevators are below standard. It was wonderful having casinos and stores close by and bus service to the Las Vegas strip. All of our money was spent in other casinos. We […] never want to stay there again and will not recommend it to others. Read more

Great hotel to stay at on the old part of the strip. We have a great time roaming on freemont street. The restaurant was not opened yet, but hotel is located close to other casino's where you can grab a quick bite. The rooms are clean, nice and spacious.

Tried the "D" again for the first time in about 4 years. The remodeled room was a nice improvement and the beds were super comfortable. Service was friendly and efficient. In the evenings they pour a strong drink at the Longbar. Word of advice as mentioned by others, one of the Fremont St. stages is on the west side of the building and it is loud until […] they stop playing at about 12:30 - 1am...even on the 15th floor where I was. My alcohol intake and late nights out mitigated the problem. If you think it will be a problem, be sure to ask them to book you in an East-facing room. Much quieter on that side. Otherwise, a very nice stay and I would return (if the price is right) Read more

In the past I have stayed at the Fitzgerald and enjoyed my stay. Although there have been improvements to the building, I did not enjoy my stay at the D. I will never stay at the D again. As mature adults 40 to 50, the D is geared for younger people, the music is insultingly loud and there are too many distractions to concentrate on having your own […] fun. I had my entire family to make reservations at the D. What an embarrassment! I am completely dissatisfied. Read more

The D is way better than the old Fitz, not only have they done a great job remodeling the casino floor, but the rooms are very nice too, good to see that most all Hotels are following that trend in downtown Las Vegas as Freemont Street is getting better and better to rival the strip. The convenience of the location is tops, the fact that you have 10+ […] casinos within walking distance is great, the price is very good and gambling's still cheap late at night here. So there you have it, good rooms, good gambling and good overall experinece. Read more

If you stay here or visit please just know that if you bring children that security will stop you anytime. I was even harassed by a security officer just trying to enter hotel with my 4.year old grandaughter. Told him my room# but made me find room key as proof. This was intimadating and embarrassing and left me with very bad feeling of The D. When […] I pulled out my parking ticket .instead of room key to show security he then started acting like I was not a guest of hotel and was a liar. Not good at all but was at least a bed to sleep in. Hot water in the room didn't work, TV didn't work and overall not what I was expecting. Their commercials and pictures online are not what it's truly like. They basically threw a coat of paint on the walls and added some pictures. Otherwise, it was just a junky old hotel.

The D is definitely not the old, outdated irish themed hotel it used to be. A lot of upgrades but the hotel still has that "old lady house" smell. I think it has to do with all the carpets not being replaced. The rooms are modern, cleaner and it doesn't feel like you're staying downtown, instead it seems like your at one of the hotels on the stip, that […] is until you walk out into the hallways and that smell punches you in the face. The room was nice enough, you get what you pay for. I'd stay here again if I wanted a low key, budget friendly stay in Vegas. Read more

Was a bit disappointed. Especially for the price. The room was clean but the attention to detail in making it look clean was lacking. The Hotel as reasonably priced is just OK. We had a corner room which afforded a nice view. The room was recently remodeled and clean. The location on Freemont street is excellent. On the Downside - The parking garage is really tight with the first seven of nine floors reserved for Valet Parking. The cable TV worked about 10% of the time and the the […] $10 per day WIFI was intermittent as well. Upon checkout I wasted my time telling the uncaring indifferent clerk about it. They have a Keurig coffee maker in the room , if you make it they charge $2.50 per cup. The 16 ounce bottles of water in the room are $4.50 each. We went to Walgreens down the street and bought our own Keurig Coffee and saved about 80%. Read more

The hotel remodel is very nice...however there were a few things that we didn't like. In previous years we enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking Fremont Street. Not possible now since all seating has been removed. Also the room table and chairs were removed making relaxing in the room very uncomforable. Rather than having to sit on the beds the […] rooms need to have a table and chairs for relaxing. ALSO...the noise level in the casinio was way to loud. You don't need dancing girls and loud music. It's so loud you cannot carry on a conservation with the person sitting next to you. We went elsewhere to gamble because it was so loud., Unless some changes are made we will not be staying at the "D" at next years NASCAR event. Read more

there were several things wrong... the pillows stunk, they smelled like cigarette smoke. we were on the 24th and 25th floor so it cant be from the casino on the first floor. i really think the coffee should be free, it was 4.75 per cup and bottle water was 4.75 too. there was not free wi-fi. the bathroom was not cleaned enough.
