"I expected more..."
The hotel is in a great location - right next to Market Faire shopping area with restaurants. The lobby is nice but feels cramped. They squeeze the amenities shop, bar and breakfast area into the front desk area. This makes it very uncomfortable. The rooms and hallways are old appearing with faded carpets. My room had an odd odor which I attribute to […] cleaning supplies or something. The furniture was worn and faded. The actual arrangement of the TV, and bed were not ideal. The shower was terrible. No water pressure, dark and very very noisy fan. I stayed in the Holiday Inn Express nearby and it was much nicer and newer for less money. I thought Hyatt was a better name but it let me down. The size of the room was great. Everything was nice. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The bed was soft and sheets were clean. Staff was super friendly. "Centrally located"
The hotel is right next door to the Market Fair Mall, which has some nice shopping and is never crowded. I got a quick haircut at the salon there on a Saturday afternoon with no wait. There are several restaurants within walking distance. I had events in West Windsor, Princeton and Lawrenceville and the hotel's proximity to each was ideal. The room […] had a very comfortable king sized bed, a large couch, 42 inch TV, a desk, coffeemaker, small sink and fridge in addition to the bathroom sink and vanity. I could have entertained 8 people in the room, easily! There is free wifi and the free breakfast buffet was very well stocked and full of options - including hot breakfast sandwiches and steel cut oatmeal. Starbucks coffee all day long in the lobby. Food available 24 hours a day and cocktails at the small bar. Staff was very polite and helpful. 24 hour fitness room only had one elliptical but I was the only person in there so it wasn't a problem. They even have free earbuds for use in the gym. Also worth noting is the excellent water pressure! The shower was great! There is a nice indoor pool. The only thing I would have liked to see is a hot tub. Otherwise, a terrific place to stay. The people that work at this hotel have to be the friendliest people in NJ. Seriously. I lived in Jersey, and I know the amount of grumpiness you deal with at most places. The way the lobby is set up, the same workers taking service calls at the front desk are making you SBucks coffee drinks, mixing cocktails for you late-night, overseeing an above […] average breakfast -- seems like a pain to me, but inexplicably they maintain a great attitude. The rooms were well laid out with a sitting area, couch, and a huge Plasma TV on a swivel. We came to Princeton by train (with no rental car) which was made convenient and affordable by virtue of the hotel shuttle. A complimentary service, the shuttle left on the half hour with a reservation. We went to downtown Princeton (and took a cab back each time, the shuttle doesn't run that late). I imagine you could take it to other locations nearby. I don't EVER write reviews but when I left I felt I owed it to the staff. If you are going to Princeton, consider this place. Our room was very clean and I LOVE the giant pull out couch that can fit my two small kids. Only 2 issues: since there is a partial wall that separates the living room from the bedroom, the TV can be seen in the living room at all times, even when its late at night when your kids should be alseep :) The second issue was minor, but annoying. We love the Hyatt Place hotels in general. We stayed at this one for a night while visiting the Lawrenceville School. The rooms are large and clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.
