The Galt House Hotel has over 1200 spacious, beautifully appointed guestrooms featuring flat screen televisions having extensive cable channels, state of the art wifi, updated baths. All guestrooms have personal safes, hairdryers, iron/ironing boards, and coffee makers. Executive Suites, located in the Suite Tower are two-room accommodations with a sitting room to accompany the guestroom. Executive Suites in the Suite Tower have two flat screen televisions in each room.

"great choice for family stay"
Suite was clean and very spacious. Bathroom was very big so that's a plus with a family. The hotel service is very good. One small drawback, I know its an old building, but the windows leak causing moisture buildup in the room. 25 floors and 4 elevators. This makes for trying to get up and down a little challenging. Other than that, the hotel is in a great location and the service was great. "Perfect holiday experience"
This hotel exceeded my expectations. I was a little reluctant to bring my 2 year old after seeing the pictures online, but it truly is a family-friendly hotel. "Aging Southern Belle"
Galt House is a three-star hotel trying to hang on to its five-star past. There is nothing terribly bad about the property except that the furnishings and conveniences are 10 - 20 years old. The property is huge, taking up two large towers overlooking the Ohio river, about 2 blocks from 4th Street Live (downtown entertainment mall). We stayed in the […] Suite tower, which we understand is the most recently renovated. The room was huge (750 sq ft), but poorly laid out. As an example, the bathroom was 7 x 10 ft (really big), but all the fixtures were on one side and the sink was uncomfortably mounted in an alcove so there was no counter space. The beds, furniture, and carpets were obviously older and worn. The desk staff seemed professional, but not the level of hospitality or concern that you normally get an up-scale hotel. Asking for a late check-out, for example, got us an additional hour (until noon). They have a schedule to keep, and guests are just getting in the way. You get the impression that the property is not able to make a profit, and everything is done on the cheap. There is an up-charge for every service that a nice hotel should include: parking, internet, local calls, etc. Speaking of parking, the underground garage is claustrophobic (6 foot 4 inch clearance) and dimly lit. The one bright spot was the food service dinner and breakfast. The food was good, plentiful, and pleasantly served – go for the meals, not to stay. We're going to the competitors. "Great Location but worn.."
My husband and I stayed at this hotel on our recent trip to Louisville. . The location of the hotel was awesome, right downtown and overlooking the beautiful waterway. When we first arrived at the hotel we were informed we had to pay an extra 12$ a day for parking which was a shock (not sure if it wasn't on the website or if I just overlooked it), either […] way that was kind of frustrating but not much of a big deal. The lobby in the tower we stayed in had an AWFUL odor. When we got to the room we were a little dissapointed because it appeared a little old and worn down but was clean for the most part and didn't have a smell like the lobby. When we layed down we noticed on two of the pillows what appeared to be small blood stains. We waited until morning to call about this because it was close to 2 in the morning when we discovered it. We called first thing in the morning about this problem and they changed the linen and gave us a free meal pass to one of the hotel restraunts called cafe magnolia. The food there was not great by any means but for being free it was good enough. Overall the hotel was okay. The pool was shady all of the time we were there which was from about 2-4 in the afternoon but it seemed really clean and there were plenty of lawn chairs. We stayed in the suite tower, great for our family of five to spread out. The hotel was really crowded that weekend and security had to keep coming up and telling the groups of teenagers in the halls to be quiet but we couldn't hear it since the suite has an extra room. The hotel was very nice. Very close to all the downtown attractions. Louisville Slugger Museum, Louisville Slugger Stadium, museums and restraunts. "Location is the key feature"
The location of this hotel is the prime benefit. Even though the rooms have been recently updated, there is a general feeling of poor quality in food, beds, front desk service, and the like. This hotel is absolutely off the hook - decorated to the max for the Christmas season with a delightful dinner show....and the Kaleidoscope of lights was incredible. "clean friendly amd a bargain"
The hotel has been around for a while but it was clean and updated stylish. The people were friendly and there were a host of places to eat onsite witha variety of pricing. We stayed at the Galt House for the first two nights of our Kentucky vacation. We booked a Deluxe room only to find that they had an Executive Suite for us. That's a pretty good surprise. The hotel is located next to the Ohio river (with a great view) and there is plenty to do in the area. We had our 3 and 9 year old daughters with us. It was very nice. The […] only downside was a fire alarm at 8am one morning. Apparently, there was a kitchen problem the previous night and the fire alarm in the kitchen was faulty.
