PROS: Great location, nice sized room, large bathroom, reception and lobby staff are personable and professional. CONS: Hotel room doors are paper thin so you can hear everything that goes on in the hallways - not good when there is lots of traffic at 2 and 3 in the morning; bathroom was not very clean when we arrived and many of the amenities were […] missing. Bottom line - it's unlikely I'll stay at this Marriott again considering there are lots of nice inns close by that offer a more memorable stay with better service and often include breakfast for the same price as a stay at the Marriott. Our safe in the room kept beeping in the middle of the night. I finally called the front desk when I couldn't turn it off myself. They came up within 20 minutes but having a sleeping family in the midst of this was rather inconvenient.

Have stayed here before.... Much better room than last time. Just be sure to request an exterior room as many are interior with the room windows facing the interior hallways and elevators (very odd layout). Hotel is very clean. I wouldn't be surprised to see an update in the near future as he rooms and decor are rather dated.

The Management and staff were great. Our only complaint was the charges for wireless internet and if we wanted to listen to any music (other than the clock radio) it was $16 for 2 hours. Doesn't seem right.

From the moment we arrived the service was superb. It seemed there were more than enough ways to find whatever we needed. The restaurant food was great and the buffet breakfast 1st rate along with a relaxing view of Newport harbor; also close to shops. We didn't want to leave. Clean great bedding and service from the valet to the restaurant to the spa […] salon. I would categorize it as high solid 4 star hotel with 5 star service. My 15 year old immediately changed her clothing and her demeanor and was quite impressed with this special birthday treat that was clearly a cut above all the rest. Nicely done Marriott Newport! VEry disappointed in the fact that their pool and hot tub were under renovation. That is the MAIN reason we went there. They did decide to comp us but it was really disappointing. In this digital age, they should have been able to post something.

The room was clean but a little musty maybe due to the humidity. Also there was an unsightly mess of all the wiring for the TV, WIFI hookup and lamps. It was very ugly and I'm sure with a little reorganizing all the wires and cords could be easily hidden to make the room more presentable. Other than that our stay was great. Enjoyed our stay. We asked for a room change because our room window viewed the elevators. Some confusion with the double reservation. Elevators were frustrating, sometimes went up instead of down and vice/versa.

The breakfast is outstanding. The bar area could use more warmth it was kind of stark. Not all rooms have a window to the outdoors and was a little stuffy overnight. Great location to walk to local bars, restaurants, and shops. Overall a clean and well kept hotel.

Stayed at the Marriott two days for St. Patrick's Day weekend and the customer service was incredible, the hotel is beautiful and the rooms were very comfortable. I can say that the valet parking is not worth it when you can park easily under the hotel for half the price. This hotel is in a great location for walking around the center of Newport. The hotel's common areas are nicely decorated and spacious. Rooms are small as compared to other hotels in this class. Staff was very nice and accommodating. The only downside is that the night we stayed there was a large group function and several college aged guests occupied […] the common "Atrium" area until 2:30 in the morning and were VERY noisy. We liked the hotel very much, but we were very disappointed to find that although we had reserved a room with a king size bed the hotel only had doubles available. These seemed very small. Since this was a mini- honeymoon of sorts which had us talking for weeks of snuggling together with no kids, cats or dogs in the bed, we really had to laugh at the […] situation which had us sleeping in separate beds! We had a twin-bedded room on an upper floor, overlooking the harbour and town, which was very pleasant. We would have preferred a king-size bed, but that was only available without the view. Upon arrival the front desk person was extremely rude, threatening to not give me a room because I had not indicated in advance that I was allergic to feather pillows. Fortunately, I did not see this person again and all of the other staff were pleasant and helpful. The concierge was great, everything she recommended was extremely fun and made the trip […] for us. First of all, we had a great time and the hotel staff was very helpful. In saying that, our first room was a nightmare. The window "overlooked" the interior hall directly in front of the elevator. We called down to the front desk and they moved us right away.

At first did not have king size bed as requested and was told that it is a request, not a guarantee. Then was later told that the hotel only guarantees 20% of the requests for particular beds. I feel that if you reserve a king size bed and are told you have it, it should be guaranteed. Other than this the hotel was great.

The hotel, which is enormous, was at 9% capacity, so asking to put in a quiet room away from children (at Christmas time) didn't seem to be a huge request. Therefore, finding that we were actually placed in an area where we were surrounded by noisy, large families, seemed almost sadistic on the part of the staff. I'm sorry, but not everyone has given […] over their lives to round the clock chaos and the unruliness of passive parenting! Some of us actually still believe in being able to sleep.
