"Nice hotel but not much service."
The check in was sadly lacking. No information given about anything. Had to ask about breakfast which isn't served before 8 am even during the week so couldn't enjoy it because of catching a flight. There was no offer to provide an earlier breakfast. Also, almost got locked out after leaving the grounds. There was a code to put in the gate which the […] check in person did not mention. When we called her on it she didn't even apologize. Just told us it was written on the map. Our room door had been left wide open all day according to our neighbors. The room was spacious and comfortable. Loved the shower and patio. Not convenient to town without a car. If you want a bungalow-type hotel that takes you back to the 50s this is for you. It's been updated, but has kept "that feel" as I was there in the late 70s. Close to downtown Palm Springs. Wonderful architectural gem, lovely updating. We stayed offseason, so we had the place almost to ourselves. We stayed away from the busy street side, so our room stayed very quiet. The pool was serene and bed was great. Loved that we could walk from our patio straight into the pool. Pretty standard no frills bathroom with tub and shower curtain. Air conditioning was a bit weak for how warm the room got. Front desk was more accomidating/nice in the morning with continental breakfast, but upon checkin was very adamant about no parties/noise. "Only one issue with the Hotel"
Once again a great stay at this hotel. Only thing that needs improving is the way they conduct the ground mantenance i.e. lawns. The guys come out with these very loud lawn mowers/edgers/blowers right by your ears blowing cuttings into the pool/spa and dust everywhere. We had the entire place for the weekend for a family wedding. What a wonderful place for that. It was all family and friends and everything was first class. Loved the rooms, the pool, the view. The Horizon is a very well renovated 50's style hotel/motel, with luxury fixtures and fittings. However our stay coincided with the period when they were without an alcohol licence -hence no bar! Had A red eye flight on Sunday night. Asked for a late check out would pay extra if needed, was told that some one else had the room booked. "Lovely relaxing stay"
We stayed for 3 nights - and had a very relaxing time, you can't helped but feel chilled here. It's ideal if you want to get away from anything and have a quiet few days but a little far out if you want to be close to the main town (only about 5 mins in a taxi/car) The breakfast is basic but we liked this as it gave us a break from eating so much food. […] We missed not having a coffee maker in the room for 1st thing in the morning (I think some rooms have them but think they all should) There are a couple of supermarkets a couple of mins away we stocked up on drinks with ( the bar was not open as its still out of season ). I Very much enjoyed my stay at the Horizon Hotel, Palm Springs. Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for the last 2 nights of our 18 day road trip and came here to basically do nothing and relax in the sun and wind down. Temp was 104 degrees! Außerdem ein sehr schönes, schlichtes Bad mit Innen- und Außendusche. Alles im Stil der 50er Jahre ohne kitschig zu wirken. Auf unserer kleinen Terrasse konnten wir morgens frühstücken - Bagel, Müsli, Joghurt, Kaffee, Kakao. Einfach, typisch amerikanisch - aber ok. Zum Mittag- oder Abendessen sind Restaurants in Palm Springs direkt schnell zu erreichen. Wir haben uns im Horizon sehr sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Atmosphäre ist entspannend und man fühlt sich unter anderem auch durch die leise Musik am Pool in eine andere Zeit zurückversetzt... Klare Empfehlung für Ruhesuchende.
