We thought the hotel was beautiful and what a location. The beach was lovely and we really enjoyed hunting for shells. The staff (Andre) and the housekeepers were really nice and very friendly. Can't wait to come back during the regular season. We really enjoyed our stay and the only complaint we had was we were not there long enough!

Fantastic recently renovated rooms. Wish the rates were as low in summer as October, but one can only wish! Super comfy beds, top notch. Great service by the Front Desk Associate too.

Got a good rate at Hotels.com for this great hotel on the water in So. Yarmouth, MA. Room was large with two queen beds, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and sink. Bathroom was handicap accessible and large and new. We had two chairs outside our room to sit out on and the beach was at the end of the hotel. The room was obviously newly redone from the carpet and furnishings to the bathroom. The convenience of the kitchenette was great and that disposable plates/etc were provided made using the microwave a real convenience. The front desk personnel were wonderful.

We arrived late, 10pm kind of late..the room was nice, only the toilet had some of what looked like dirty water in it but other than that the room was nice. The next morning, we dressed for the pool about 930 and headed down, only to be told that it wasn't open until noon. Noon? Why on earth would a hotel open their pool at noon? We enjoyed our stay. The beach was right there, the room was very nice. It was set in a nice neighborhood and convenient to the main road as well. They were working on the the new in-ground pool and jacuzzi but it will be ready by next summer. It's right next to the beach si it's a nice setting.

We only were able to stay at the hotel for one night, but it was a good experience. The front desk clerk was very courteous. We were pleasantly suprised with a free room upgrade. The suite was it great condition except that the kitchen sink could use a change and the outside of the fridge had some stains. This is a beautiful on the shore in a convenient location right near the main road to Hyannis and other places of interest on the cape. The room was very clean and attractive. We had a junior suite with a celing fan, skylight iwth automatic shade, 2 decks and 2 TVs, - both very exciting to my teen daughters. The big problem was that while the rooms […] are non-smoking people on the level below us smoked on the patio outside of their rooms constantly making it impossible to enjoy sitting on our decks or even to have our sliders open to fresh air. If the property is serious about a non-smoking policy there should be a designated area away from other guests where people are allowed to smoke. They are in the process of building a new outdoor pool right at the ocean edge with a fire pit - I think we'll give this place another try. Read more

Aside from renovations going on outside the building, I was very happy with my stay! Our room was VERY nice. Clean, new, comfortable and the girl at the front desk was very nice. The beach was lovely for a evening walk and sit. Wish I were back there!

Never having booked through Hotels.com, I wasn't sure what kind of quality to expect, but this hotel was really wonderful. Room was very clean and well-appointed, including a microwave and small fridge. Beach was easy to access, clean and not overly crowded. They are really doing a lot of work on the grounds to improve the hotel, including re-vamping the indoor pool and putting in an outdoor pool and hot tub. The rooms are spacious (we had a loft suite) and we had a great ocean view. The room smelled a little musty, but the beds were great and everything was clean. I would go back!

The rooms looked new, were neat and well maintained. Our room was just a few steps from the beach and the hotel crew kept the beach neat all the time. The only issue I have with them is the undergoing construction onsite. The water had quite bit of seaweed though.

Planning a last minute trip to the cape, The Ocean Mist Hotel was one of the few places left with vacancy. With reading some of the negative reviews, we were unsure if this was the place for us. We chose this hotel because by the time we did book, there were no other options for us. First of all, we had to listen to an hour of men working right outside our room paving. I went alone with my boyfriend - it was his birthday. The upstairs TV didn't work and instead of having privacy, we had a couple people parading in and out of our room trying to get it fixed. Then we went to sit outside on one of the decks and there was a family […] right there, 10 feet away. NO PRIVACY WHATSOEVER. The bathroom fan didn't work either. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were NOT working and they were installing an outside pool with jacuzzi that wasn't finished yet. I will never stay in this hotel again. As a Californian, I have stayed in many "beach hotels". The Ocean Mist Hotel was far better than any I have stayed in on "my coast". The hotel is under new ownership and just re-opened two weeks before our arrival. Although there was still construction (building the pool and jacuzzi, work on the main building, finishing outdoor lighting), the staff […] was incredibly helpful, and the rooms are almost completely renovated. The bathrooms are clean and completely updated. The carpet and beds and bedding are also new. The rooms are large and have plenty of room for a family of four. There is a small kitchen that could use updating, but comes with a stove, refridgerator and a sink. The view and the 100 steps to the beach sell this place. The small beach is private for hotel guests. Beach lounges are provided. There is a great restaurant and bar, "Skippers" that is within walking distance which made this feel even more like a true Cape Cod experience. I would wholeheartedly stay here again. Read more

Location right on the beach and availability of louge chairs on the beach were nice. Close to Route 28 and in very pretty area of Yarmouth. Very large room with 2 Queen beds. Only negative was that the room was initially stuffy but after running the A/C, this was corrected. Front desk was pleasent and helpful.

We were very pleased with this hotel. We stayed in a loft room. It was roomy, well-appointed and had a small balcony on both levels, with chairs to sit and look off to the side at the ocean. Maid service was excellent. Good value for an ocean-front hotel with a private beach.

We booked this hotel after looking at the pictures online and due to the fact that it was on the beach. The location was great, right on a private beach. The room was falling apart, dresser drawers wouldn't open, doors falling off, peeling wallpaper, the bathroom door didn't even lock and the door to the balcony wouldn't slide without great effort. […] We liked that the walk to the private beach was very short and we could see the ocean from our room, but if we walked out on the balcony, it usually smelled gross. Possibly from rotting fish/seaweed or something from when the tide came in. Also, they were usually pretty accommodating when we needed something extra. However, I did ask for the skylight shade to be closed (shines right in on you at dawn) and they said they'd come back and do it. We came back from our day at the beach, it wasn't done so I went to the office. They said everyone had already gone for the day and nobody was in till 8 AM the next morning. The next day was checkout so we had to be up early so it would have been too late by then anyway. Also, we brought all of our own food because they said this room had a kitchen and we didn't want to eat out for every meal. The fridge was not full sized so all the food we brought wouldn't even fit. We had to keep a lot of it in our cooler on ice. There was no hand rail in the bathtub. The pictures of the bi-level suite online show a very updated, spacious area. That was absolutely not the case. Read more

Admittedly, I booked this hotel with some hesitance and trepidation given all the negative reviews I had read. The price was too good to pass up...and frankly what could be THAT bad about being beach-side in the Cape? First of all, you will be hard-pressed to find a hotel right on the water that does not have some "smell issues" of some sort. Traditionally, […] these ocean-side homes are victims to salt air, mold spores and moisture issues because of their proximity to the water. Not to mention, any time you have decades of wet feet walking on carpets...you are bound to create odor problems. It's a fact of life in any seaside environment so if you have a real problem with a slight moisture smell....do not go here. Upon arrival, I was amazed by how clean and kempt the grounds were. Beautiful gardens, sea grass....gorgeous lawns all greeted me. I was even more captivated when I noticed that Ocean Mist sits RIGHT on the beach. The views are incredible, the beach is clean and well groomed and the hotel provides durable lounge chairs for guests. It is nestled on the fringe of a very quaint neighbourhood filled with traditional Cape cottages, lovely restaurants, parks and beaches...and is located a mere 5 minute drive to the "main drag" of South Yarmouth. Parking is free, the lot is large and you can conveniently unload you car. A little older than some other places we've stayed, but the local of the private beach can't be matched for the price. Loft rooms are super if you have kids so they can watch their own TV. The pool and hot tub were open and clean. Maid service was very good and the grounds were well maintained. We would go to "Ocean Mist" again!
