Motel 8 Laramie

Older motel that has seen better days. Constuction painting crew next bluiding,ran loud machinery till about 4:30 Key locks on doors. Not secure. Weak doors to room. Did not feel secure. Room was clean & neat.

I guess I misunderstood, I thought it was a Super 8 motel when I booked it. That is partially my fault, as I did not ask that question. It was older, the exterior condition was only fair. The exterior ofthe hotel is not very impressive. The parking lot is in need of repair and some of the exterior railing are rusted through. The inside of the room was adequete, but I found it strange to still be using a "key" to access the room. The location right off of I-80 is very convenient and this place is okay for a night and works well for […] people just looking for a place to crash for the night. I don't want to give a bad review simply because of the bad customer service from the hotel staff because the hotel was decent, but it really colors the experience! The front desk staff were pretty bad at their jobs and kept making major mistakes, forgetting reservations, double booking rooms, no towels, wrong key and my main issue- ignoring my Expedia […] reservation and making ME call Expedia to straighten it out! Luckily Expedia customer service was awesome and saved me, but no thanks to the poorly trained staff at Motel 8 Laramie. One nice thing about this hotel was the $5 pet fee, but otherwise, if you are traveling through Laramie, I would say try another hotel along I-80 while Motel 8 trains their staff to actually do their jobs. Don't confuse this with the super 8 We had to stay in Laramie because all the motels in Cheyenne were sold out. Frontier days. Take advantage of this fact. Not real clean, not fancy, but nice very late at night.

We were exhausted from driving across the country but decided to try and get out for the night. We had a cat with us which limits the hotels in any area and adds to the cost ($10-$20/night). We chose motel 8 for combination of pet friendly and price and booked it an hour out of laramie, which meant no cancellation. Iwas dismayed to see it. It's ugly, […] ugly nad tucked into an industrial area at a hwy overpass. There was nowhere to really go to eat except for a mexican and chinese place and nowhere to walk to as the nice downtown part was miles away. Having said that, the rooms were a good size and very clean. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet. Front desk didn't know wifi password and wes struggled until we got it sorted out an hour later. We gave up on going out and ate in room and slept instead. Inside of room was decent for the price but outside was sad sad sad. After driving through Laramie there are plenty of dismal looking motels where the rooms are unlikely to have been that clean inside though. Read more

Hotel is old and not maintained well. Bathroom was dirty. Convenient to I80 but area of town was rundown.
