The road to Arlington passes by the solemn Lincoln Memorial and leads to hallowed ground: the Arlington National Cemetery. This resting spot includes the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the graves of John F. and Robert Kennedy. Arlington County is home to other symbols of US military might, including the Pentagon and the US Marine Corps War Memorial, better known as the Iwo Jima Memorial.

Hotel under renovation....wet paint, drop clothes in hall...bags of dirty linens on floor in hall at 4:00pm..no cots...charged for 3rd adult in room,2 double beds when you sat at the head of bed the bottom of bed flipped up like a see-saw...no extra towels, personal care products not replenished. Breakfast consisted of prepackaged muffins, danish, small […] containers of oj, coffee, tea....no lids for coffee...in room coffee was just that...no sugar or creamer...just a small packet of coffee...had to go get iron, ironing board and hair dryer, but there was only one plug in the room...had to unplug clock to iron....needless to say, not real happy, but we had prepaid and we were there to attend a funeral at Arlington National so we were stuck.... Not a place to stay for entertainment. A bare bones hotel, although cheap enough. Do not rely on breakfast too much.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Glad my wife wasn't with me..."
It was ok for a place to stay on business just to sleep... but glad my wife was not with me. She would have not wanted even to take a shower in the bathroom.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Inns of VA, Arlington- close to 1400 S Joyce St."
I called to get directions to the hotel. We had a GPS system, but it had us going in circles. The hotel representative suggested I stop at a nearby service station to get directions. She did not feel comfortable. Also, upon arrival to the hotel lobby, my husband asked to use a rest room. He was told that the motel did not have public restrooms, but […] to hold on a little while while she process us in. She took a copy of my printout confirmation which stated that I had reserved a deluxe queen size bed and gave us a room key. My husband entered the room first because he needed to use the restroom. I stopped at the vendor machine. When I did walk in the room there were two double beds, not the queen size bed listed on my confirmation. I reported this to the clerk in the lobby. I asked her whether or not she had read my confirmation. She said that she was going to look into the matter and see why I was given a room with two double size beds versus a queen size bed, but I don't think she ever did. The tables had white powder on top and smeared down one of the legs. The wall under the sink was dusty and was stained with black blotches of dirt. The bed was extremely small and gave my husband and I a back ache. The honey bun and snickers bar I purchased from the vending machine was stale. We threw the snickers and honey bun in the trash. The continental breakfast was OK. It has assorted muffins, apple juice, orange juice, and apples. The hotel did serve decaf coffee. The cost for a one night stay for the area we stayed was a good deal. However, hotel service was poor. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Older hotel. No elevator available. Both my wife and I had backaches from the uncomfortable beds. Front desk clerk unresponsive and not helpful. Requested first floor and was told the hotel was full despite only a few cars in the parking lot. Had to haul suitcases to second story room. WiFi did not work unless you sat in the hotel's lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"HORRIBLE HOTEL"
Staff were not friendly. expensive!!. Internet DOES NOT connect in the rooms (I witnessed many people having the same problem). Breakfast is a joke, there aren't chairs or anything, it's just some packed stuff that you can take. Smelled of smoke in the room. Also not easy to find. We're not going back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Unsatisfactory Experience"
Question: What kind of hotel leaves dirty trash in the bathroom wastebasket for the next guest that checks into the room, runs out of clean towels, and instead of apologizing for inconveniences, tells the customer it is her own fault for inadvertently leaving the "Do Not Disturb" hangtag on the doorknob. Answer: Inns of Virginia at Rosslyn!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was smelly, and the "free wifi service" is non-existent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Light next to bed only worked infrequently - Bathroom tub mat wasn't clean - Would probably not stay there again - bed's not comfortable ... great location and potential - just needs a little extraGenuine Expedia guest review
"Maybe better for heavy sleepers"
I picked this place after reading reviews and expected something akin to a Best Western: cheap, low frills, continental breakfast in plastic-wrapped packages. I had the right idea, but this was hit-or-miss, depending on your priorities. I was looking for was a cheap place to sleep, and this was almost good enough: there was free internet and a refrigerator […] and microwave in the room. There's also a nice running trail, a grocery store, and bus access to the Metro a block or two away. Room was reasonably clean. The downsides mostly had to do with getting a good night's sleep. The refrigerator was rather loud (I eventually unplugged it), and both my toilet and the next room's toilet were leaking a bit, so there was an intermittent noise of a toilet tank refilling to contend with (I was able to turn off the water to the toilet, but couldn't do anything about my neighbor). The walls let sound through from next door and I was unfortunately next to someone with a wet hacking cough all night. Finally, the beds were not very comfortable: I woke up in the middle of the night with aching hips, which is not usual for me. Throw in the wake-up call that never came, and you've got a recipe for an pretty low-grade cheap hotel. Mind you, some of these things might have been fixed by requesting a new room. Last bit: the plastic-wrapped continental breakfast looked terrible. Even though it was free, I couldn't bring myself to eat it. If you've got a set of earplugs, can sleep on any surface, can eat about anything, and aren't concerned about the friendliness of the staff, then this is still a good deal compared to some other hotels nearby. The phone did not work at all. The TV had lost most of its channels due to digital transition which the hotel maintainance failed to support with hardware. The cleanliness of the room was abysmal. Just look behind the night stand. It was overridden by centipedes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Inns of Virginia at Arlington"
Hotel front desk staff, days and afternoons, were inefficient and rude. Initially checked into smoking room when non-smoking was requested and available. Not able to provide direction as to where hotel was located on local map, so subsequent questions on bus and metro stops/service were unable to be responded to even minimally. Advertised continental […] breakfast did not start until 7 am, too late to service early departing guests. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Smoke smell"
I don't know how this place got 3.9 on the user ratings or why it costed so much, but I cannot recommend it. After a late flight, I get to the check-in desk at 12:30A and the guy says, um we don't have any more rooms - but I said I booked on hotels.com - well I don't know what to tell you but my system shows we're sold out ... oh wait, it looks like […] we checked you in already. As I'm going to my room, I stop and ask about how to log in to the free wifi and he's like, oh our routers are down and should be fixed around 6A tomorrow - I ask is there any place open with wifi because I need to submit documents, and he's like well the coffee shop down the road closed at 10. So, I get to my room and voila, the wifi access works perfectly fine. The guy was clueless. The hallway was fine but my room smelled of fresh cigarette smoke. Sheets were clean, single pillowcase pillows were questionable so I used my coat as a pillow. Anyway, there was a fridge in the room, which was nice. Free breakfast consisted of juice in a plastic cup with foil and packaged pastries that they must have bought in bulk because they brought the same ones out everyday. It must be a DC thing to be paying so much for a glorified motel room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The free breakfast was ordinary, just coffee, juice and Danish. However, you can make a pot of coffee in the room and the Metro Diner is only a mile away. Unfortunately we got the last room available and it was a smoking room. The price was good for Arligton, and the location is safe and convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"This was the worst hotel experience I ever had!!!"
The staff was unhelpful and argumentative when we mentioned to them about the uncleanliness of the room. There were hairs all over the sink and on the sheets. The walls were dirty and the comforter had stains on it. The carpets were not vacuumed and when I called the desk to request clean sheets they actually told me that they didn't have any extra […] sheets, blankets, or comforters!! We were switched to a different room even though when we first got there they had no extra rooms for the night. The second room was even worse than the first. Really dirty, walls with stains, carpet with dirt and leaves on it, huge yellow stain on the comforter and the sheets were also stained, more hairs in the bed and there were even old frozen pizzas in the freezer of the small refrigerator!! Seriously?! It was late so we just tried to sleep, using no blankets or pillows. I had thankfully brought one of my own blankets that I ended up using as a pillow and kept dressed head to toe and turned the heat up so we would stay warm. It was the worst hotel stay experience I have ever had and I travel alot! I can't understand how this hotel could possibly be on any website as a viable option. "Good value, but..."
The good thing is the hotel is really cheap, its a great deal. We wanted to stay in the area because we're having lots of friends there. There is a bus going to DC (Rosslyn Metro). Pizza Hut and Dunkin Donuts are very close. The free wireless internet is great, also free parking. The bad thing is, the hotel is not clean. The room was ok, but not the […] best. The rest of the hotel is really dirty, the carpets smell bad. Breakfast is not that good either. There are only 2 chairs in the lobby. They serve juice (which they freeze, every day there was still ice in it), coffee and plastic wrapped danish and muffins, thats it. I would recommend getting breakfast someplace else. Overall I would come back because its a cheap price and we only slept in the room anyway. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Ikke anbefalelsesværdig"
Prisen var incl Continental breakfast men der var kun 2 slags kager i plastic, æble og kaffe. Det er ikke hvad jeg forstår ved Continental breakfast. Værelserne var rene, men gang og foyer var meget beskidte. Beliggenheden var fin, kun 10 min kørsel fra Lincoln Memorial.Genuine Expedia guest review
