Neither the hotel nor Hotels.com disclosed that this place charges $25 a day for parking and $12.95 per day for internet access + they do not have free wifi in the lobby/common areas. "Second stay"
Once again, a great place to stay while touring DC with the kids. The breakfast got us started and the evening reception helped us all wind down. "Adequate, but not up to Embassy standards"
I have stayed in other Embassy Suites hotels in DC that were much better. The food was not good. There was no in-room safe. There was no concierge, just a taxi phone available for guest's use and some pamphlets about local attractions. Have previously stayed at this hotel. The quality of the breakfast has really gone down. The coffee was extremely bitter. The manager reported changes were made to the brand of breakfast items to include coffee. To save money the hotel's quality has gone down. The hotel was very nice, clean,and beds comfortable. The staff were friendly and accomadating. "An easy bike ride to the DC sights"
We stayed two nights on our way to a Southern destination. The hotel is in nice, safe area - plenty of restaurants within walking distance (both "mainstream" and local "hole-in-the-wall" ethnic nearby). We liked the extensive breakfast and the large room. The main reason that we stay in this location is that it's a couple of blocks from the Mt. Vernon […] Trail - which provides an easy bike ride into DC as well as about a 15 mile ride to Mt. Vernon. The trail goes right by the end of the Reagan Airport - so it's nice to stop and watch some planes land on the way. There is a metro station nearby as well for access to DC. "Service at front desk"
Their policy says if I refuse to deliver a newspaper, I will get back 75 cents per a day. so I wanted it when I arrived at hotel. When I checked out, I didn't see my credit $1.50 on my receipt. So I asked front desk, and a clerk was fine. But the manager who was behind of a clerk, he was kind of...he did things..like, disregard, saying mockingly.. I […] was with my 5 year-old son. "Location is not ideal"
Location requires use of the hotel shuttle to metro. I would have walked much more but given that DC is so much walking we couldn't. We had to wait many times and recommnend calling the hotel when returning for pickup. Shuttle is shared by 2 hotes which may have added to the wait times. This was a very nice hotel close to the Metro subway station. I felt safe walking to the Metro station day or night. It was about 5 blocks, by cutting through the Marriott lobby. Traditional embassy suites hotel - breakfast and manager happy hour were good. Location was reasonably close to metro line. Shuttle driver drove us to a couple of nearby locations when we requested. I thought the staff were very friendly, with an exception to one of the female pool staff. Perfect place for the kids though. We had an incident were our youngest got sick in the car, the front desk went out of their way to help, and within minutes helped me make an appointment for cleaning. They also recommended touring, although the touring company […] turned out to be a disaster! The downed elevator was a bit annoying. We read in a review that there was a cockroach in one of the rooms, and it was too bad that we also saw a quarter sized one in the breakfast area! We quickly told the kids it was a beetle.
