Minutes from Arlington Cemetary. A few blocks from the action in Arlington nightlife. We had a great rate for a great room. Very spacious. Very good complimentary buffet breakfast. The hotel was great for the price. The suites were a nice size. My family was in town for a funeral. We had 8 rooms. All of the rooms were a nice size. We stayed on the 8th floor. "HUGE room in a great location"
Our room was HUGE! For the price we paid, at the last minute, I was very pleasantly surprised. We only needed someplace to crash after a nearby Presidential Inaugural Ball, and chose this hotel based on proximity and price. It turns out our room was a 2-room suite with a large living/dining room with kitchenette, plus a separate bedroom that was about […] the size of a usual hotel room. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Parking was very easy, right in front of the hotel. Check-in was smooth. The room had two queen beds, two comfortable club chairs, a small dining table, a full sized refrigerator, a sink, microwave, and toaster. The cabinets had tableware for four people. There was plenty of room to spread out. Opening the […] curtains, we found a good-sized balcony. Most of the rooms, however, did not have balconies. The bathroom was very clean, and was quite roomy. Breakfast was tasty, although it could have been warmer. The woman working the breakfast room was phenomenal, keeping everything clean and stocked. She could definitely have used some help. The hotel is two blocks from the metro station, but it's uphill. If that's a problem, you can take the hotel shuttle to the metro. It was only about a ten minute ride into Washington. It's also very close to Arlington National Cemetery. I woul recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a very nice hotel close to Washington DC for a very reasonable price. "Stay if you arent in a hurry and dont mind insults"
The room itself was fine, and I appreciated what was a very nice breakfast buffet, but I was really put off by two main factors. The first was the staff. While it appeared the cleaning staff did an excellent job, the front desk folks were no help at all. The hotel advertises a free shuttle service to the local metro stop. They don't make mention of […] the fact that it only leaves every 45 minutes even in early AM some times. On two separate days I asked when the next shuttle was coming. The first time, I was curtly told that I would have to wait 30 minutes so naturally I walked it. The second time I was given a 40 minute estimate along with a sarcastic remark about how the walk wouldnt hurt me - I assumed a pot shot about being a bit overweight. The other issue is the sound, which there is little they can do but a bit of a heads up to complete out of towners might be nice. This hotel is very clean and friendly, however. The only issues that we both had was the bed hurt our hips, we tossed and turned needs more padding on the beds. "Surprisingly good"
We were pleased with everything about our stay with one exception. There was a cleaning crew cleaning off the balconies and spraying the dirt onto our brand new car (and others around ours). Someone was down below rinsing off our car but rocks and pebbles could've easily damaged the car and our car was pretty dirty when we drove away. "Never stay again"
I wouldn't recomend staying here. When I walked up to the desk to check in, I was telling the employee my name, she rudley took a phone call. In our suite, the toilet leaked water into the floor.The towels on the rack at the shower had thick dust on them,so much that I had to re-shower and dry off with my t-shirt. Then, when I turned down the bed, it […] had nasty sheets and pillow cases on them, you could see make-up and dirty spots. It took 30 minutes for someone to bring clean sheets up and then there was no pillow cases. I had to call down again for that. I could have stayed home, if I wanted to clean floors and make beds. The hotel is quite pretty and conveniently located. The breakfast was free and very good each morning. My room was nicely appointed and spacious and things throughout the hotel appear in good condition. "Great hotel for our first trip to DC"
We were pleasantly surprised with the size of our room, and the price was good. The hotel is older, but updated nicely and attractive. The breakfast was very good and there was plenty of seating, which is unusual. The breakfast staff worked very quckly and were super friendly. We made supper in the room one night and found the basic kitchenware we needed […] to prepare and serve the meal (except it would've been nice if the S & P shakers actually had salt and pepper in them). The staff at the front desk were exceptionally helpful and willingly offered directions, maps, and helpful tips about seeing DC. "Affordable family friendly, spacious facilities"
Overall, stay was pleasant with spacious, clean rooms although facility is somewhat dated. There was a bit of an odor in our room but was sufficiently dealt with a can of Febreeze and turning the air down. Breakfast buffet was good and accommodated a variety of tastes; go early as they had limited seating and choice items often ran out before buffet […] ended. Biggest challenge is that they marketed complimentary transportation to the local Metro station (at the top of the steep hill) but it was not available when we needed it (Saturday, Sunday and mid-afternoons weekdays 1-3:30---we were travelling with a handicap person.)
