"Great rate for what you get"
This was a great rate for a room with kitchen. If we were staying longer it would have come in handy but we were just there overnight. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Room was okay, big but dated. The hotel was great for the price. The suites were a nice size. My family was in town for a funeral. We had 8 rooms. All of the rooms were a nice size. We stayed on the 8th floor. "Surprisingly good"
We were pleased with everything about our stay with one exception. There was a cleaning crew cleaning off the balconies and spraying the dirt onto our brand new car (and others around ours). Someone was down below rinsing off our car but rocks and pebbles could've easily damaged the car and our car was pretty dirty when we drove away. We thought someone […] from the hotel should've contacted us and I would've been happy the move the vehicle. We complained but the front desk just said they didn't know it was happening which was surprising given the large hydraulic truck parked out front. No offer to compensate us for the trouble. Hotel room was roomy, clean, lacked maint. We had to be moved to another room becaus the auto lock system failed, we had to sit in the lobby for 2 hours waiting for the maintenence man to open the door. "Great hotel for our first trip to DC"
We were pleasantly surprised with the size of our room, and the price was good. The hotel is older, but updated nicely and attractive. The breakfast was very good and there was plenty of seating, which is unusual. The breakfast staff worked very quckly and were super friendly. We made supper in the room one night and found the basic kitchenware we needed […] to prepare and serve the meal (except it would've been nice if the S & P shakers actually had salt and pepper in them). The staff at the front desk were exceptionally helpful and willingly offered directions, maps, and helpful tips about seeing DC. Overall, stay was pleasant with spacious, clean rooms although facility is somewhat dated. There was a bit of an odor in our room but was sufficiently dealt with a can of Febreeze and turning the air down. Breakfast buffet was good and accommodated a variety of tastes; go early as they had limited seating and choice items often ran out before buffet […] ended. Biggest challenge is that they marketed complimentary transportation to the local Metro station (at the top of the steep hill) but it was not available when we needed it (Saturday, Sunday and mid-afternoons weekdays 1-3:30---we were travelling with a handicap person.) "Wonderful except wireless"
Everything was great....except the wireless connection in the room. As a business traveler, I always book rooms with wireless. I stayed 3 nights and it worked until the last night when I could not get a connection. The front desk told be to call the toll free number for tech support. Called that and got the usual "experiencing higher than usual call […] volume" recording. Hung on for 5 minutes and gave up. Tried the connection a few more times that evening with no luck. The hotel is in a good location for a 5-10 minute drive to most major sites, mostly across the river. It was clean and comfortable. Ice machines only on 3/8 floors was a bit strange though. On our stay it was very quiet. Would certainly stay here again when visiting. The area is okay with plenty of places to eat nearby though the hotel is at the bottom […] of a steep hill so you'll need to be fit to walk up to restaurants and to the metro (I did see a notice for a shuttle). The hotel room is comfortable for family vacation. It has a small kitchen that is very convenient for family. We use it to warm up left over for late night snack. "Good but the bathtub did not work"
The hotel was nice, and everything else was good. My daughter liked it, so I gave it four stars instead of three, which I really wanted to give. The reason being that the bathtub did not work, and I reported the problem. But, nobody showed up to fix it. The staff were somewhat biased, if not racist. Not their fault, being trained that way all along. […] Overall, this is a nice hotel, just needs some cleaning to do, in people's manners as well as in the hotel.
