We spent two nights at the Dolphin Inn this Thanksgiving. We were greeted by Travis who gave us a warm welcome and made us feel very much at home. Our room was poolside, and was very quiet and clean. The kitchen was well-stocked and we opted to eat in most of the time. Our kids played shuffleboard while we sat on the patio by the inlet and relaxed. […] The path to the beach was right there and there wasn't too much traffic. The beach itself was just lovely. If you want a fancy five-star resort, this isn't the place for you. Inexpensive, beautiful beach, nice pool. An older motel with small rooms, and thin walls. We stayed 5 nights and houskeeping came only once. We enjoyed riding the rental bikes on the beach.

Very good hotel at a wonderful place. Rooms have all the things needed for holidays but are a little bit outdated, but nevertheless that makes it really pleasant. Good and silent location with direct beach access and a wonderful bay view. Would definitely return if I will be in that region again.

Stayed at Dolphin Inn and had 4 major problems. We went to check in at 6p and the office was locked. An envelope with my name on it. Inside it said that the key was in the room. Quaint place. Rooms are dated but that didn't bother us at all. The only complaint I had is the room was warm as there isn't central air but we weren't there during the day so again, no big deal. Pool is awesome, they have bikes and laundy and everything you need. Friendly staff also.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for the weekend, and we had a WONDERFUL Time. We didn't care for our poolside apartment #2 because the room smelled strongly of mildew. We asked to move, and they placed us in a 1 bedroom apartment that we LOVED. The 1 bedroom apartments are so spacious, and the king size bed was very comfortable. We did have neighbors that let their 2 year old son into the pool without a diaper. Yes, he did #2 several times - on the pool deck and in the pool. They had to shut down the pool for the entire afternoon and night. Disappointing, but not Dolphin Inn's fault. We loved the proximity to the beach and the spaciousness of the apartment. We were in the 'one bedroom apartment' and it had a living room, bathroom, dining area, bedroom with a king size bed, kitchen with fridge, stove/oven, dishes, pans, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, utensils...basically everything you need, and an extra room with extra beds. We loved the room and […] location...right outside the back door was a Bay with boat docks and there were chairs to sit outside by the bay, and across the street was a short walk to the beach. It's in the quieter area of Fort Myers Beach. Next door is a movie theater that serves dinner and alcohol, which we thought was pretty cool, and next to that is an awesome place to eat, Charley's Boathouse, pricey but well worth it! (Both of those you can walk to) Down the road a bit we found an awesome little bar, Sandbar and Grill, which we loved. It's not a big party spot or anything, just a good place to go for drinks and food, with a great atmosphere. Next door to that is Castaways which is also great for both drinks and food. The only issue we had with The Dolphin Inn was the housekeeping, They didn't make the bed at all while we were there, they only took our dirty towels once and when they did, they just threw some clean ones on the unmade bed for us instead of putting them away, and they didn't even come in the room at all on our 3rd day there. I selected this hotel based on the previous positive reviews it received. The location was good, the room was adequate in the sense it had a bed and a tv, and the very limited interaction I had with the staff was satisfactory. However, the room and the hotel in general were a disappointment. When I checked in, there was still trash in the trash can […] and dirty footprints on the tile from where someone walked on the floor after mopping it. The room was a mishmash of remodeling efforts clearly undertaken at different times. That all could have been overlooked if it wouldn't have been for the noise. The walls were SO thin, I woke up 2 of the 3 nights to snoring...from the guy in the room next door! An incredibly discourteous group of people was there at the same time and they insisted on congregating at the dockside tables just outside of my room. Courtesy of the paper thin walls, they woke me up from a nap one day (initially excused because I couldn't expect them to know that); at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday trying to get their act together to go to breakfast; and, again at 10:30 p.m. that same night after coming back from dinner...and having a few drinks as well based on their behavior. The hotel in general needed some attention. While the pool area was clean and orderly, other parts just seemed like a disaster area. Overall, I don't plan on staying there again. Read more

Very nice quiet place . Mywife and I arrived late Thursday evening and a letter welcoming to us was posted outside the office door . After going to our room we noticed how peaceful it was . No loud traffic noise or rowdy guests . The view from our room looking towards the Gulf of Mexico was nice . The rooms were spacious and very clean in appearance , and they smelled just as nice as they looked . I cant tell you how many places weve stayed with mildewy odors to them .( Not for long ! ) The pool was sparkling clear and we hung out there for two of our three days here . Even the two " house Kitty's " were very friendly and one even stood up to greet you every time you walked by and allowed you pet him .
