I thought the Hyatt Place was in a great location and was extremely neat and clean. We did arrive a half an hour early and they still gave us our room. The hotel is new and very modern. I travel frequently for my work. When planning this pleasure trip for 8 teens and 3 adults, it was quite a challenge to find affordable rooms in a kid-friendly hotel. Though the Hyatt Place is "defined" as a "business" hotel, they treated each and every one of us as if we were their most important visitor. The staff of this hotel went above and beyond […] by transporting 11 of us to dinner after we had travelled over 3 hours by bus, to alleviate some more drive time and allow the kids to eat good food versus pizza in the room! I chose this hotel because it said "Hyatt Airport" - okay, it is NO WHERE NEAR THE AIRPORT, but a 8-10 min shuttle ride; could have been a problem if there had been traffic; shuttle drivers took "back roads" and ride was a pleasant scenery drive. Located in a semi-commercial shopping area, behind a major store called Meijer (like Walmart). Easy hike […] to store, other shopping across a very, very busy major street, and restaurant. All that being said, the hotel was a surprise. First of all, the check in/out desk is thrust in the middle of the lobby, confusing you into trying to determine what the awkward desk is. However, greeted by wonderful staff, took clean elevator to room, and was SURPRISED to discover a semi-SUITE!! Separate desk with wifi & outlets galore for laptop, mini fridge over wet bar, generous love seat with hugh ottoman that easily accommodates two sets of legs (or doubles as a table), SEPARATE sleeping area, 40-50" flatscreen on swivel base so you can watch in living area or in bed. Comfy, comfy, comfy! I loved it! AND a wonderful breakfast bar with hot breakfast sandwiches (upgrade from dry cereal and choke muffins). Really, really nice.
