Magnificent Mile, a part of Michigan Avenue from the Chicago River to Oak Street, appeals to tourists because of its flashy department stores and fancy restaurants. Several of the Windy City’s architectural wonders are here, including the John Hancock Center and the Old Chicago Water Tower. Just north of the Chicago River, River North is home to the city’s shopping, design, and gallery districts.see all hotels in Chicago
"Very nice condition of hotel"
Room was very nice; valet parking was courteous and fast, if a bit on the pricy side ($49/day). Comfortable bed; uncomfortable pillows.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location, friendly staff"
I was happy with my stay due to the hotel's proximity to downtown. It was a bit of a walk from the blue line from O'Hare to the hotel, and although 5 blocks fr Magnificent Mile, is abt 1 mile to Millennium Park. The room is small so be prepared, but modern and comfortable bed and bathroom. Minor drawbacks are no coffee pot in room and no complimentary […] breakfast, but Starbucks & Whole Foods close by. One complaint which is apparently not the hotel's fault, there were dirty room service dishes sitting out in the hall for a day. Very unappetizing. The Front Desk informed me it has to be Room Service that collects the dishes, and not Housekeeping. It is my strong recommendation that Housekeeping keeps record of their deliveries so they can contact the Guests when they can remove food and used dishes from outside hotel room doors, or else allow Housekeeping to at least call Room Service to let them know there are dirty dishes in the hallway. For a nice, upscale hotel this was a turnoff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved my room at the Hotel Felix. It was comfortable and clean. I will say this - the practice of putting a significant hold on my credit card upon check in struck me as odd. Also, travelers beware: there is no continental breakfast. They try to get you for every single dime, including putting bottled water in your room (a seemingly nice, hospitable […] touch) that they actually charge you for if you drink it, it's like a boobie trap! What a racket. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel Overall, A+ Downtown Location!"
This was our first experience (amazing last minute deal online!) staying at Hotel Felix and we were satisfied overall. That being said, we would probably only stay here again if we got a similar last minute deal. We would classify it as average. It is older and has been updated, has comfortable beds but the rooms are small. The front desk staff was […] very friendly and allowed us to check in early. Nearby parking if you don't want to valet, but the valet price was actually great for the area. Small bar in the lobby that provided coffee and tea in the morning. ****We have only one real complaint regarding service. We realized we left our electronic toothbrush and called within an hour of checking out. They said they didn't have it but we are sure it was there. We called again MULTIPLE times and left MULTIPLE messages that were never returned. It would have been nice if they called us back, even if it could not be located. "Small room but clean; great service; good value"
This was our second stay in two years. The rooms are a bit cramped, but very clean. Service is excellent from the front desk to the restaurant to the valets. Good location; good value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel. My room was a bit small, but very very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This isa great find in Chicago if you can get it at the right rate. Prices fluctuate wildly! The valet parking leaves somewhat to be desired. It is operated independently from the hotel. Be prepared to wait and pay premium..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great place to stay"
Our room was nice but not luxurious but everything was clean and well maintained. The staff was exceptional and extremely friendly. The location was perfect, only a few blocks off of Magnificent Mile and only a few blocks from the Hancock Building. The location allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted to go with ease. I highly recommend Hotel Felix.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel rooms are a little small, but staff was helpful and the neighborhood is conveniently located.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location was perfect! Rooms were a bit small and it took forever to retrieve our car from the valet, the valet said to expect 30 minutes and he was right! But the rooms were clean and the hotel staff was attentive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice and simple"
We had a good stay for couple hours we were at the hotel. obviously the location is great and i dont think you can find a better price . . . that said, there is a reason. The rooms ( at least most of them i would guess) are about as small as they could possibly get, but that is what you're paying for price wise and the convenience couldnt be betterGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Chic yet welcoming"
The Hotel Felix balances well chic boutique and cozy friendliness... cool with mod decor, flat panels and upscale enough toiletries yet doesn't take itself too seriously. Staff has a sense of humor and beds are warm and comfortable. Now, it may feel like home because room sizes make NYC studio apartments feel like mansions, but that doesn't matter to […] me. I'm happy to be there every time I arrive. p.s. LM Bistro inside is a good breakfast meeting place. Great coffee even if service could be more attentive. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Room is clean but small; good location"
Room was clean and comfortable but small. Not sure what they were thinking by having a sink with no counter top space in the bathroom - there was room for them to have installed something with at least a bit of space for toiletries.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was very impressed with Hotel Felix. The staff were very friendly and helpful and provided wonderful service. The room was a little small, but it was just me, and the deal I got on the room was great. The surrounding neighborhood is not the best, but it is within walking distance of several attractions and activities. For being in the middle of downtown […] Chicago I could not have asked for a better hotel. I would recommend Hotel Felix to anyone staying in Chicago. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Solid Downtown Hotel"
Everything was pretty solid. I was there on a business trip and basically just used the room to sleep. The room was a little small, but that's mostly a side effect of being a city hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A quick stay before leaving Chicago"
I booked one night at Hotel Felix through Hotels.com. I was very happy with my stay as it came at the end of a very long week of work. The only small amenities that I could have wished for was an in room coffee pot and coffee. I had to leave before the coffee/continental breakfast was up and ready, so I had to leave the hotel without my cup o'joe in […] the morning. The hotel itself was very clean and the staff were great! "Convenient to the Mag Mile"
Very pleasant hotel. Quiet and just enough out of the way to stay that way. The room was small but big enough to relax after a lot of walking.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel our first stay there had a couple of issues toilet was broken but when we called they sent someone up right away to fix it, also the shower handle was broken ( which we let them know on check out so it could be fixed) Room was clean and great location. I would stay there again ~ nice hotel Thank you!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, situated away from traffic"
If your looking for a nice hotel in a quieter location this is it. Still close t o Mich. Ave. but much easier tto access. Nice rooms (soft bed!) and friendly staff.Genuine Expedia guest review

Nice hotel, really small rooms, but the scuff marks all over the white walls are unacceptable for this level of hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small Rooms; Great Location"
Hotel Felix is just north of Downtown and just west of Magnificent Mile. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are a number of good restaurant choices nearby (beyond just the tourist traps). Be warned, the Rooms are VERY small, even for Chicago hotels. But, Felix is cheaper than other hotels of this quality, so that's the trade-off. Overall a good […] experience. "Good hotel for a weekend trip"
We had a great stay at the hotel and the Chicago city was super fun! Staff is very kind and helpful to their guests and they make your stay as comfortable and enjoying as they can. The restaurant next door, where you can enjoy a nice breakfast in the morning is awesome, staff is very friendly and the food is delicious! The hotel is close to all the […] fun but keeps out the nose during the night! We had a perfect sleep, all 3 nights! Rooms are small but you don't need more space if you're out and about the city all day. One little minus were the pillows, If you have neck issues you might want to bring your own pillow, I nearly suffered a whiplash due to there thick pillows. They don't have lowers ones available. "Staff insured that our group's needs were met."
Great downtown location with a simplistic modern decor. Walk to shopping was along a quiet street. Staff was very helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
The beds are extremely comfortable, but the rooms are small. I was there on business and by myself in a queen room. I think it would have been tight even with my husband but certainly would not work with my kiddos. Overall lovely place, good location and a great value to see Chicago.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The valet service was disappointing for what I had to pay. ($49/day) I had to wait 20 minutes to get my car and it was parked directly across the street where I could see it. Also, the rooms were much smaller than I was expecting, I had planned to bring my son in a pack n' play and there would have definately […] not been any room for him to sleep. The room also didnt have an alarm clock or fridge. the hotel was clean the business center was nice but the amenities were lacking. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great location, close to Hard Rock & Rainforest Café, small room but very clean and comfortable. I recommend parking at the public lot located on the east side of the hotel's restaurant since it was about $15 cheaper (that's 1 drink downtown) then parking at the hotel and very close. About a $10 cab ride to the United Center if you're going for a concert […] there. Better then driving thru all that traffic yourself. Easy to get back with a cab as well. Anything downtown is noisy due to the constant traffic but we were pleased with the entire trip. Modern-ish cute boutique hotel - I would stay there again. It was better then the old Howard Johnson a few blocks away. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Pros and Cons"
Pro - Great location. Walking distance from many places to eat and the EL. Efficient staff. Very clean rooms. Quiet. Great value for the price. Very good shower (great water pressure and shower nozzle) No fridge. Very comfortable bed. Strong WI-FI. Cons - Very small main room.(bathroom was OK in size) Only room for one suitcase, so our second one had […] to stay on the floor. Enough floor space to walk around the bed, and that is about it. No place in the bathroom to even set a shaving kit. The bathroom sink was modern...only about three inches deep. It drained slow, so there was always standing water after each use. I would stay again because of the location and decent price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Simple and what we needed."
We don't look for much in a hotel, a simple room to sleep in works for us and that was what we got. We checked in earlier than expected and the staff were very helpful when we arrived. They made many suggestions on where to go and what to do while we were in town.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Small, but Chic"
If you are ok with sacrificing normal hotel amenities like a small fridge in your room, or coffee maker, along with room to move around, than you may love this hotel. It's all about expectations. The chic decor and fantastic/friendly staff make up for the regular amenities you miss, but maybe for some others it won't. I had one of the tiniest rooms I've […] ever stayed in, with a "meh" view, however the comfortable chic decor, excellent bell staff & location, & boutique feel basically made up for it. Be prepared to spend $50 on the overnight valet parking (street parking is worse). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean & Friendly, Party Neighborhood"
We stayed for a couple of nights around the 4th of July. The room was REALLY small but cozy. The decor and bedding and everything was nice and fresh and comfortable. Be advised: the walls are paper thin and the area of town is a bit partyish. If you want to party, great place to stay. If you plan on heading in early, maybe not. I slept fine, but my […] friend woke up to every elevator ding (our room was right beside them). We both woke up at some point to raucous laughter in the hallway. The area outside the hotel was a bit sketch. I may stay there again, but next time I'll probably try something a couple blocks south. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Chicago hotel close to our destination"
It was nice and quiet. However, the room was rather small and the view out the small window was just the brick facade of the building next door.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, tiny room"
Loved the location, which is near great restaurants, shopping, and cultural venues. The room (queen) was incredibly tiny- there was hardly space to walk around the bed, and I busted my knee against the bed frame trying to get to my suitcase. The bed itself was fabulous and possibly the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever encountered.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value for the price"
The Felix was fine, not amazing. Location was very convenient to the meetings I had. And a block from Whole Foods, which was nice for a quick snack. When I first checked in I got a room that faced a construction wall - maybe 12 feet from my window. It was dark and depressing, and made the room feel very small. I couldn't stay there. I asked for a room […] with some view to the outside world and they switched me with no problem. That room was much better. A small pet peeve - ice was on every other floor. And you needed a key card for the elevator after 9pm, which made me wonder whether I could access the floor with the ice (I didn't bother to ask). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pleased with service and boutique quality"
Only thing we had some thoughts about was the size of the room. it was very small, small closet, no dresser, banged my knee on the bed frame a couple times. Our kids came in the next day and for the same price got a corner room which had two beds and was larger and more commodious with two windows. It was like two people ordering the same meal at a […] restaurant and one steak was much larger than the other. Would recommend with reservation. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needs a little freshening up"
Overall, the hotel was a great deal for the location and condition of the property. This hotel needs just a little bit more attention to detail to take it to the next level. The room was clean enough, but there were little things here and there that needed a wipe or scrub. You can see wear and tear everywhere, and again, it's not extreme, but the place […] feels like it's been a while since they gave it any type of sprucing up. The room also felt a little bare -- even some wall art would help. Even the hotel channel they play on a continuous loop is a bit outdated. I feel there's just so much more they can show on it for people visiting Chicago (I'm from here, so I know what's what). There's no fridge in the room either, which stinks because I usually like to buy drinks and snacks and store them. Again, nothing about the hotel was bad or intolerable. I just wish for all the effort they put into the design of it and the philosophy behind it, they'd put equal amounts of attention to making sure scuff marks on white walls are fixed or little pieces of crud on the carpet are pulled out instead of being vacuumed over. "parking to expensive"
it was a good stay overall, the room was way too small and parking needs to be included in the price of the hotel stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel - the room was very small for two people and not worth the cost. The closet was a joke - a pole in an 24" deep niche. Other than that - great location, clean, and the staff was very accommodatingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a wonderful stay, however fitness is a big part of my life and the fitness room needs some upgrades. I purchased a guest pass to a local gym because of the lack of equipment at Hotel Felix. Also, there is no in-room fridge or coffee maker, two easy upgrades to add to each room to add convenience to your business travelers.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is a clean welcome surprise with an affordable rate in downtown Chicago. It's not on Mag mile; but not that far and it's a very nice boutique hotel; very modern. As others have stated; the rooms are a bit small. My only disappointment is they allowed no wiggle room at all on the check-out time. In fact, they stated we would be charged an […] amount of a full night stay if we checked out any time past noon; that's the rate for a full night stay by the way.
