"Nice place to stay"
Had a great visit at the Dana Hotel. All the staff there is extremely friendly, always saying hello every time I passed. The bed was really comfortable. The only downsides were that it seems like there aren't enough elevators for this hotel. I always had to wait for one. When trying to go out at night I waited 10 minutes for an elevator.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location"
We had a comfi room, it is small but totally okay for some days. And the bed is soooo comfortable!! We had a problem with our tv at the beginning, but they fixed it! The spa is nice, would highly recommend a classic Swedish massage! The staff were always friendly and helpful. Why not 5? Had to ask again to fix our tv. Settled dust Elevator takes long […] or got stuck We had an awesome time in Chicago and Dana hotel & spa made it even better! Btw we are au pairs and normally stay in hostels, so it was a pretty nice deal for a 4stars hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hello party people"
Modern rooms with hardwood floors. Comfortable bed. Great water pressure. Helpful guest services and concierge. Bathroom is see thru from bed; glass doors separate bath from room with a curtain from the outside. Other people in your room could peek in the bath at anytime! :o lots of party people on our floor- extremely loud. Had to sleep with tv on. […] Not exactly for families and people who need quiet. "Good hotel"
The room is really decent and I have a patio in my room, which is really nice. The room is clean and comfortable. There are a lot street parking around the hotels (2 hr max). Also, there is a place for parking overnight for $25 right opposite of the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Short trip"
Had a quick business trip to Chicago. Second time at the Dana. Overall a great stay. Only minor issues. First, the room service menu is limited. I arrived late in the evening and had a hard time finding a good menu item despite being very hungry. Other hotels have been better at this. Second was the response when I asked for a late checkout. I called […] "guest services" and asked to leave at 2 instead of 12. The person that answered the phone just immediately said "no, there are no late checkouts today". I understand that not every request can be honored but the way he responded came off as rude and inflexible. It did not reflect well on the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, confortable"
Great location and super friendly staff! The room was very confortable and modern. The only area of improvement will be the noise between rooms because the walls are very thin. Even that, i will highly recommend this hotel!!!!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel but not for light sleepers"
The hotel is a lot like other edgy hotels. The staff is absolutely fantastic. However, if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. Soundproofing is non-existent. It seems to be a big draw for wedding parties which means very loud drunk people in the halls at 1 am. It didn't help that we we across from the elevator.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel for Young Professionals"
It was a nice hotel. It was a little noisy from other people partying in their room and the bathroom shower was a little weird but it was clean and the bed was comfy. Good TV and entertainment capabilities in the room. They have a restaurant and sky lounge so great for young adults/professionals. We only stayed one night so can't really comment on staff […] service too much. But check-in and check-out was a breeze and staff was friendly during those exchanges. "Party was a problem."
We loved the hotel, but there was a party going on on our floor on Saturday night and we were bothered all night long. We finally called security @ 2:30AM when someone knocked loudly on our door and tried to get in. It got a little better, but we'll ask for a room away from the elevator next time. We wonder if action from the rooftop lounge might have […] been part of the problem. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice, but noisy"
Nice, clean hotel, but overpriced. The bathroom was top-notch and very clean. However, the largest disappointment was the noisiness. At the price we paid, we didn't expect to have any complaints. Unfortunately we could hear every single time someone in the hallway opened or closed a door, which led to a very poor night's sleep.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Fun Week in Chicago"
The hotel is very modern and in a great location. The rooms are very small but I would consider nice. A couple of issues that I had with the layout of the room. The door for the closet is also the door for the bathroom. This is a very bad design. The bathroom is very small. We had a corner room with floor to ceiling windows which gave a great view of […] the city. The elvator system in hotel also is sort of a dysfunctional design. You take an elevator up one floor to the lobby. Then you take the elevator on that floor to you room. I would not have designed hotel in that manner. I would stay again. "Enjoyable Stay"
I had a great stay at the Dana Hotel. Before I went I read a lot of reviews and both the pros and cons are fair. The hotel and room were beautiful (I had a corner king, so two walls of windows) and the location was great (I walked anywhere I wanted to go). The bed and bathroom were the real highlights, the shower was all that I wanted and more roomy […] than the pictures let on (I'm a plus sized individual, and I fit fine). The view was spectacular. The hotel is on the trendy side, but not overly so. There were a surprising range of people staying at the hotel, and all seemed to enjoy it well enough. I had read several reviews that said the staff weren't very friendly, but I did not find this to be the case at all. The young woman who checked me in couldn't have been nicer, as was the doorman and the guy who took my luggage up for me. The other complaint I read about was the noise. That is true, but I didn't mind it too much. I was on the 22nd floor and only heard normal city noise--nothing from the rooftop club or from the people next door. The only fault I found was that there was a large gap between my door and the floor, but even with that there wasn't too much noise (though I could see when they delivered the newspaper to the door in the morning). I'd gladly stay at the hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not really a "spa" environment"
The hotel itself is great - perfect location, great rooms, we even had a balcony. However, since we're from out of town we had no idea the bar on the roof is such a late night hotspot. There were drunk loud people wandering around our floor, the lobby, and lined up outside the hotel until 3am. On one night we basically didn't sleep at all because drunk […] people were yelling right outside our door all night. The hotel does have a nice spa (that we didn't end up using), but the name is misleading if you're looking for a low key place to get a good night's sleep. The entire ground floor was also under construction, but that didn't matter as much to us. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Really enjoyed our stay at Dana Hotel. The room(comfy king) was a tad small for two people but the room was very nice and clean. Would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a wonderful stay at the Dana. The hotel was beautiful and had a spa atmosphere. The only issue we had was that it was a little noisy...we were on the 10th floor and could still hear the traffic!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location- Glass shower"
The Hotel was in a great location. The room, though small, was very comfortable and well decorated. The bed was so soft. The view from the balcony (which is a rare find in a chicago hotel) was nice. The downside was that the T.V. was awful. It made a crackling noise through our movie and the remote didnt work so they had to replace it. Other people […] mentioned that the sounds of emergency vehicles kept them awake but you are in downtown Chicago so that is to be expected imo. The glass shower in the middle of the room was neat but also a bit odd since the curtain is on the outside toward the bedroom so if you are in the shower, whoever you are there with can open the curtain to peek and there isn't anything you can do about it. LOL The sliding door on the bathroom doesn't really close all of the way so when someone came to the room to replace our remote and I was in the bathroom, it was a bit awkward. Overall, we had a nice stay and everyone at the Hotel was very friendly and I felt it was a perfect hotel for a quick couple's getaway. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Trendy boutique hotel in Rover North of Chicago"
I booked this hotel very last minute for a one night stay and was pleased with what I got for my money. I wanted a modern, hip place and Dana Hotel and Spa was just what I was hoping for. I ended up eating at the restaurant in the lobby and was surprised at how good it was. I also took advantage of the gym which was very nice with good equipment, elegant […] decor, and two walls of windows that overlook the street which provided an entertaining view. Overall the clientele seemed younger than other hotels but I saw a range of people while I was there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Another great stay at the Dana"
Let's face it, given the myriad of reputable and quality lodging choices in downtown Chicago, you can afford to be a little more demanding when choosing a hotel. I'm happy to say, yet again, the Dana didn't disappoint. My family and I decided to do a quick spring break, urban getaway. You know, get a little culture, dine, shop, etc. For location, for […] amenities, and for just plain great service, the Dana is still a solid choice. I discovered the Dana when it first opened. Other than now showing minimal signs of normal wear tear here and there, it's still has one of the coolest vibes. As a boutique hotel, it's on the smaller side, but that's probably one of the reasons the staff has time to be so nice and accommodating, from the bellhop and the wait staff at the hotel's in house restaurant Aja (which btw has a killer breakfast menu) to the maitre'd. The rooms are well appointed with great city views though be advised, there's no overhead lighting in the concrete ceiling, making the rooms a little dark even with lamp lighting throughout the room. The wood floors lend an air of cleanliness and freshness to the room, as did the rain shower head in the spacious roll in shower. Bottom line is, you just can't go wrong with the Dana especially when you get a good rate paired with a special like free parking or free breakfast. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great room!!! Horrible elevators!"
The good: The room was awesome! A little small, but it was extremely clean, looked new, a super comfortable bed, your own in-room Keurig coffee maker, a great shower head, and a nice TV. And a great mni-bar. Extremely satisfied. Also, one of the bellman - a taller black guy was super friendly and always pleasant to speak to. The bad: The worst part […] was the elevator situation. They said 1 of the 3 were broke. I hope they weren't lying because at times it took 8-10 minutes to get an elevator (not even kidding). One night we came back to the hotel around 1am and there was a HUGE line for the elevator b/c there's a popular nightclub on top of the hotel. We ended up taking the stairs 11 floors because we didn't wanna wait. Some of the staff, particularly the front desk had an attitude that they were simply "too cool for school." Rarely were they friendly or helpful. I debated between a 3 and 4 and gave it a 4 because we did enjoy the stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Dana Experience"
Dana Hotel & Spa was small, but modern. Our room was chilly with a noisy heater, but worth the comfort of the bed, location & view. A very affordable getaway, which may leave room in your wallet for a spa treatment.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
