Loved the hotel! The room was wonderful, bed comfortable, Aveda products in the bathroom, breakfast on every floor so you can simply throw on the bathrobe they provide, take the wooden tray they provide, walk to the foyer by the elevators and get your coffe, OJ, crossiant, yogurt, fruit, eggs, and toast. And they gave us each 2 drink coupons per night […] for their lounge which included a buffet of cheeses, bruschetta, artichoke hearts, olives, and roasted peppers. We were staying for one night only. Were given room 308, if you are assigned this room at check in; request another room immediately, why?, we were unable to sleep as there was constant mechanical noise from ? Clean and friendly, this was the perfect spot for guests who focused on downtown Chicago. Not as convenient for us - we were visiting friends in Bucktown. But even so, everyone was great. The staff were so amazing. From the valet to the check in....they were pleasant and helpful. We we were able to get an early check-in which left us a lot of time run around the city. We had a small issue with a toilet....and after we called the front desk, about 30 seconds later, I kid you not, there was someone at our door to help and fix the problem. Good location but some issues. Shower water COMPLETLY stops in the middle of 2 showers. I reported this to management but nothing was done to fix the problem. Remote control to TV did not work. "Family Trip to Chicago for New Years 2013"
We recently spent 4 nights at the Amalfi Hotel while visiting Chicago for our family New Year's trip. We were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and quality of the service at this fairly centrally located Hotel in downtown Chicago. The hotel seems to cater mostly to business clientele but we saw a few families while there as well. We applaud the convenience […] of their Breakfast Bar on each floor (pastries, coffee, juices, milk, cereals and fruits# that is included in your stay. We also ordered food that came delivered from Harry Caray's Tavern from across the street and found their selections and quality about average although of generous portions; the price is about comparable to any In-Room Dining that you would expect from a similar Hotel. The Amalfi has a small Gym/Workout room that has a good selection of Life Fitness treadmills and ellipticals, along with free weights and medicine balls #and other items that I did not use# that were in very good conditions and well kept; they were more than I needed during my stay. There is a Business Center on the 4th floor that has Internet Access with printers for guests use; convenient to check-in our return flights and print out boarding passes. The staffs were very friendly in pointing out directions and helping us figure out our stay. We enjoyed our dinners at local Sullivan's Steakhouse and also a nearby Star of Siam #great pricing and food and just a short walk away on State Street and Illinois). We would stay again!
