Red Roof Inn Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile

Parking fees are high in Chicago, but the Red Roof did not charge for in and out, but rather for the whole day... That is HUGE and good. Our only complaint was that our room was a little small but other than that we had a great room with a view, and we were only a block away from all the action. The location and the rate was what prompted me to book this place. However, I guess I have been spoilt. I guess for the money charged - I was very disappointed with the look and feel of the place. Hotel was a great price for the downtown location. Overall room was clean and nice but the poor service of the WiFi and extreme lack of water pressure in the shower was very disappointing and made the stay frustrating. The staff and service was excellent. The rooms were comfortable but it's an older building and rooms on the small side. The location is very good for being downtown. It suited my needs as a place to hag my hat for a weekend. If I were to entertain clients it would not be my choice.

it was good, no problems, I road the blue train back to the airport for free because I was short by .24 cents, so he just let me in for free... the two girls at the front desk were very helpful. handy store walking distance for any thing you want. Location was very good, i'll stay there again!

This room was perfect for a quick trip into Chicago. The price was reasonable, the room was clean and the desk service was friendly and competent. Valet was available for parking and luggage storage for the day was provided. I found my new Chicago Hotel for weekends away for leisure and business.

The rooms are way to small, it looks like it hasn't been any work done on the elevator's, halls, or rooms. The best thing is that its a block from the Mag Mile. The toilet in my room had to be flushed more than once for it to go down and the water pressure in the shower was lacking.

This hotel was really nice however, the parking cost of $35.00 parking was outrageous and was not close! Was a surprise as well. We were never informed of this extra cost. Likely will stay elsewhere next time due to this fee.

The room was nice and small. Per the pictures i was expecting something bigger but the the surrounding area of the hotel made up for the size. Very dissapointed that I was not informed about the parking (valet) and the cost, but we were able to have a nice evening without making use of that service. Overall I would go back and stay.

For the location, this place was such a steal! The guy at the front desk was very nice & helpful. Room was small, bathroom was smaller, but it worked. In town for a conference, nearby to hotel & nice location close to downtown. The room was average, no frills, but a comfortable bed to sleep in. The hotel needs a facelight (paint, new carpet) and I didn't appreciate that the windows in the room were bolted shut. I was hoping to get some fresh air. I love the location but I'll definitely consider other hotels in the area when I go back for meetings.

During a busy Chicago week, I paid $$$ for this small, old, dirty walled hotel. I stay in hotels bi weekly and never give reviews but wanted others to be prepared for a disappointment. This hotel was not prepared for the number of guests they had. They were overwhelmed. The first room they gave me had someone else's luggage in it. It is scary to think that they may give someone else keys to my room. So I had to go back down to the desk to get another room. The Website says there is a restaurant. It is next door and does not provide […] breakfast. So I had to look around the area for breakfast. I only stay in hotels that have restaurants in the hotel that serve all meals. So I felt there was misinformation on their website. Nowhere did they post the checkout time. The customer service site on the TV did not function. Hottest summer on record, was stuck on 2nd to top floor (with slowest moving elevator ever) and AC did not work (and windows were bolted closed). Management was informed on more than one occasion of AC problem and did NOTHING to fix the problem.

My only two issues were: the ice maker was right outside my room (super noisy) and the lobby echoed so it was also very noisy when trying to speak with the staff.

The staff was friendly but housekeeping service was non-existent- as in they didn't clean our room at after we checked in for two nights. Positives, great location, very pleasant and quite room, free wi-fi in room. Negatives, lack of table surfaces and seating. No functioning fan in windowless bathroom, poorly flushing toilet.

The location was incredible! You are a stones throw from everything N Michigan Ave has to offer! The rooms are small but clean. Staff was friendly. No bells and whistles but if you won't be spending much time in the room, the RR Inn is a great value.

Not the best hotel in the city. Rooms are very tiny and not very nice. The AC made noises all night, sirens kept me awake for most of the night. Check-in took almost 15 minutes and check-out took just as long.

Room was clean, but very small. Awkwardly small. Bathroom had no vent or fan so it smelled damp and mildewy, a little bit. But, if you need a place to sleep and are not planning on spending anytime in your hotel room other than to sleep, I would recommend it at this price.
