"Good Hotel but poor in and out such as parking"
Good stay and good breakfast. But poor in parking. very expensive in parking and poor in acknowledge in surrounding services. Especially parking service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I arrived and got confused because the reception is on the upper floor and there was no concierge to explain. Then I had a terrible experience at front deck because somehow a mistake was made and I was booked for a smoking King room and I do not smoke. The hotel claimed they had no more king room and I had to resort to a regular room. That killed my […] whole nights stay!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Was only a 1 day stay. 1. Tub water did not drain properly - took shower standing in 8 inches of bath water. 2. Loud at night - was woke up 3 times throughout night by fire trucks that were so loud I thought it was the fire alarm of the hotel itself. 3. Air conditioner in room was not working properly - was set at lowest temp and still not keeping room […] cool. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Location, Lacking Service"
Overall the location of this hotel was certainly great. The downstairs valets were very kind and professional. Front desk staff are kind of rude. No one seems to answer the phone when you call operator, concierge, etc. Perhaps it is purposeful that "Guest Services" extension is missing on room phones? Additionally, housekeeping needs to remember the […] details, e.g. please remember to check coffee supplies! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good hotel, bad service"
the Embassy Suites is in a good location, easy to the El and walking to hotspots. The hotel itself was nice- clean, room was comfortable and spacious. The included breakfast was awesome and the breakfast staff was great- the omelet chef was fantastic. the rest of the service staff at the hotel stunk. They made you feel like you were bothering them to […] be there. Concierge was non-existent when you had questions, stayed hidden behind the wall. Check in lines were enormous and you could see other employees standing around instead of opening another desk. Bell service was terrible. And no one seemed willing or even able to give us directions. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"minor inconviences"
The air vent in our room clinked all night. the mattress was shot. Did not sleep well at all. Then at 7 in the morning you can hear the neighbors fighting, sounded like they were in the same room with me. The managers greeting was nice and the breakfast buffet was ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Service at check in was poor. Bags took long to arrive to room. Pool area not as nice a picture leads to believe. Manager cocktail hour sounds nice but I would rather pay for a quality beer or cocktail.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Time to refurbish rooms"
We noticed that the rooms are in need of new furnishings, especially the mattresses. We stayed here 5 years ago, and nothing has been updated since then and is showing wear. Lobby areas were kept very nicely, but room furnishings are showing wear.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to many attractions"
It was in a convenient location, 2 blocks to Navy Pier and 2 block to Michigan Ave. The complimentary Manager's Reception each evening was nice, along with the made to order breakfast/buffet each morning. Lines were long for each of these, however. The rooms were a nice size, but the beds were a doulble-size and a little small and a bit uncomfortable […] when you are used to sleeping in a queen. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. The quality of food served at the complimentary breakfast was extremely poor. Many of the guests left most of the food on their plates. If there was anything I would change then it would be to improve the food served.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms were very nice and clean....the service was excellent....was dissapointed with the pool area it was not very clean and the hot tub had broken lights hanging out and the sauna wasn't working wellGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good potential, bad service"
I was extremely suprised that this hotel did not meet expectations. We got there around 1:30pm on Saturday and were told our room would not be clean until 3:30 (check-in is supposedly 3pm). So we settled for a double-bed suite that we could check into at 2:30pm. We went back at 2:30 and the double-bed room wasn't ready, either but we were told they […] had a room for us. We got into our room and it smelled like cigarettes really bad! But, we decided to spray some Febreeze and make the best of it. All the way down the hallway, there were plates of food from that morning on the floor. It was really digusting to look at. sadly, these plates were still there when we checked out on Sunday at 9am. There were drunks up ans down the halls all night and the bar was so loud! The hotel is beautiful and the location is great, but it lacks service!!! Sorry to say, we won't be staying here again, and will not be recommending it to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beware of parking charges"
Hotel is at great location and great service. IF you have your own car then beware of the parking charges - $51 for valet parking for 24 hours and $36 for self parking overnight. I understand that this is price to pay for staying in downtown but consider all these for the hotel price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"First Trip to Chicago"
We didn't spend much time in the hotel except for sleeping. Housekeeping was pretty sloppy for the first few days and for some reasons the day before our departure the housekeeping service was great and I could not help thinking if that was because we were leaving the next day and they had needed a good departure opinion. But I have to say a few of […] the front desk agents are really friendly, namely Clementine and LaTonya. They are helpful and informative and honestly so friendly :). Breakfast is not bad and not too good either. We ate the same kind of breakfast for 6 days and that could be bored already. But the service staff probably made breakfast more digestable they are so attentive and polite. Even the cooked to order counter staff, waitress and cook were both really hardworking and we liked them. Quality of sleep was good no problem after a long day out. "Good location"
The breakfast is good, but the line is huge, you can wait in between 20 to 30 minutes. It should be better organized. The line for the omelette takes much longer, Parking rate is outrageous: $51 per day! The elevators are slow and always packed; it is easier to take the stairs.Genuine Expedia guest review
"not for business travelers"
NOT for business travelers, kids running around galore. Layout (open area in middle) made for a very LOUD stay. Loads of families taking advantage of free breakfast and "managers" special at night, long lines. It was the week after Christmas, so lots of tourists.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Can't catch elevator"
In the morning we had to take the stairs down to the lobby because we couldn't catch an elevator. It was super crowded. Everything else about the hotel is great - nice pool and rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice place for families. Unfortunately trying to 'exit' your hotel with your bags and other items in the morning is practically impossible as you CANNOT get an elevator in the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

""FairSuite-style hotel""
When I booked I did not know it was a huge convention there. Many rude people extremely crowded elevators and breakfast areas. The suites were ok, however not on par with others we have stayed in. I will not stay at this hotel again as it is not on par with other suite style hotels. Example small micro refrigerator, micro-microwave. Only two washcloths […] in washrooom when we had a party of four. Two adults, two children. Regarding breakfast lines no direction as to which line was which until we were in line for a while. Bell service appeared to leave peoples luggage where anyone could have access or remove their items. (non-secure). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The Hotel and Staff were fantastic. We always enjoy staying at their Hotels. The only reason for the reduced rating is the lack of use of the facilities due to conventioneers, and their unsupervised children. Hotel Staff was fantastic and once in our room the stay was fantastic. Rooms are large and luxurious. We prefer this hotel over others and will […] stay again, just gonna make sure not another convention booked at the same time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"great location but hard to get to."
We had a great time at the ES. When I checked in I was informed that there were no more double rooms so the check in guy gave us two single rooms. This was a win for us because the five of us now had two bathrooms and four TVs. Location was great for shopping however getting to the hotel is tricky. I drove around and around and around before I finally […] figured out how to get there. The doorman totally got it and we shared a chuckle. Overall 4 stars from me. "OK"
A few months ago we stayed at the State St Embassy Suites and we were very impressed/satisfied with our stay there. Rooms were not available at State St. location so we booked a room at the Lakefront Embassy. We checked in on Thanksgiving Day and check in was smooth and simple. Our room was clean and nice enough (especially considering the price of […] the room). While room was fine, hotel has a couple of issues. First of all the elevators are a mess. One set of vators goes from group level to the "sky lobby" and another set takes you from lobby to rooms. We spent far too much time waiting for elevators and ended up on the stairs a few times. I do not mind the exercise, but I did mind on checkout as I had several bags with me. The second problem we had was noise. We were on the 7th floor and our sitting area was flat out noisy. Thankfully it was quiet in the sleeping area for my wife and son, but I was on the couch and had to listen to screaming kids until they fell asleep. I did not call to complain because the noise ended both nights about 10:30 PM, but it was really LOUD. The noise was coming out of a vent in the room and it sounded as if the kids were in the room with me. It was a holiday weekend and the hotel was crowded so I don't blame the hotel. We simply did not enjoy our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok for a quick business trip."
The staff members were all very pleasant and accommodating. The hotel room fixtures have been updated somewhat, but you can tell that this is a cosmetic "on-the-surface" makeover vs. a wholesale re-do. For example, the bathroom counter is granite, but the tub is definitely old. Nothing that you'd want to soak your body in. Also, all the hotel suites […] faced inward to an open atrium where the lobby and restaurant seating is located. The amplified lobby/restaurant noises can be heard in the front room of the suites; luckily, the bedroom is located at the back of the suite and has a heavy door that you can close and deaden the sounds. Breakfast was fine - opt for the custom omelets because the eggs at the buffet are on the cold/bland side. Overall, a nice experience, but I also wasn't there for a significant length of time. The noises might get old if I were there longer than 2 days. Also seemed a bit on the steep side, but that's probably because of its convenient location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Dirty Room & Used Shampoo"
The room was dirty. the ottoman was moved for my kids to sleep and under it was a pile of seed shells and dried leaves, the maid obviously didn't move the ottoman to vaccum. the shampoo, conditioner and lotion were used and half full. "Oversell"
I reserved and Pre-purchased a King Size Suite. When I arrived I was told that they only had double beds available but "don't worry it's the same price". The front desk associate did not offer to find another hotel with the same accommodations, etc for me. I was very disappointed and will not return to this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Frustrating"
We did not get the room type we requested and had to sleep on a couch. Their response was water damage and mold to the room type we requested. We didn't find this out until we arrived. Then all they would do is offer free internet (which in my opinion should be free for any paid room). Not a great memory of a last weekend with the family before school […] started. I always stay at suites because we have children. I have stayed at multiple different Embassy Suites, and was disappointed by the hotel. The room walls were paper thin and I could hear everything that my neighbor was saying. The rooms were not well maintained. The furniture was drab and looked old and worn out. rooms were small and pool was not ideal […] for small children. The lowest level of the pool was 3 feet. "Unpleasant Surprise"
I've been loyal customer for almost 8 years and I was really upset by the service in Chicago hotel... My rental car got scratches on the hotel parking (which cost $ 51 a day...) and no one even bother to tell me about it. I asked for extra towels and never received them, when in the morning I personally complained about it at the front desk, never get […] word of apology , they only asked IF I STEEEL NEED THE TOWELS!!!... At the last day, I went down for a breakfast and when I wanted to open my hotel room the keys didn't work! All three keys... No word of apology from the front desk when I went down to ask about it. Really, this is the worst experience I had with Embassy Suites ... The hotel is not cheap, but the service is the worst possible. maybe you should revise the hiring procedures... "Good Location"
I truly loved the idea that we could walk to all of the sites we visited. I did not like the fact that the hotel room was not waiting for us on arrival. They said it was because of Lalapalooza kids that had mudied the rooms. I am not the smartest person but why not have they gather in one place and hose their legs and shoes down or offer laundry service […] beats cleaning. Also I think that if a better price comes up it should automatically be given to the customer. The hotel was okay. The check in process was a bit of a cluster, but that is mainly because I tried to check in before 3:00 p.m. and there was no room available. I was, however, able to check in at noon, which should have left me plenty enough time to make it to a 1:00 meeting at a nearby hotel. Unfortunately, the bell service misplaced the order to […] deliver my luggage to my room and my bags were in deliver pergatory for two hours. The hotel made it up to me by delivering me a cheese plate and a bottle of wine which I thought was a good gesture. The hotel staff, including the bell staff, were very friendly. The room was typical, nothing to write home about. But the location is the best benefit of staying at this hotel. It is close to everything and I would therefore stay at this hotel again. Next time, however, I'll plan to check in the night before a planned event to ensure that I'll have access to my room and clothes! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We are usually very happy with Embassy Suites because of the size of the rooms, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the included breakfast. The sheets seemed to have been changed, but overall, it seemed like someone had just left and it was prepared quickly. The parking should be included, or at least at a more affordable rate, ($51?) Thank you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Check in needs overhaul."
The hotel was beautiful but they need to work on customer service. 2.5 hours after designated check in we were still waiting for a room. The given excuse was that they had allowed a large party a 6pm check out. Great for them but many of us missed our dinner plans!Genuine Expedia guest review

"It all depends..."
It all depends on what's important. If you're looking for a good rate and tons of amenities (spacious room, free breakfast, convenience to navy pier), this is the answer. But I'm a very visual person so unfortunately the outdated decor and uncleanliness (stains in the carpet) did it in for me. I don't see myself going back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
