The Club Quarters, Central Loop is located in Chicago, Ill., adjacent to the Rookery Building and one block from the Chicago Board of Trade. This hotel stands two miles from the Magnificent Mile and the Shedd Aquarium.

Built in 1885, the ten story Club Quarters, Central Loop offers dining at the Elephant and Castle Restaurant. This eatery and pub serves English-style fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and features a variety of British ales and Scotch whisky. The business center houses two computer stations. Function rooms accommodate up to 75 people. Wireless Internet access is complimentary throughout the hotel. The complimentary, 24-hour fitness room contains cardiovascular and weight-training equipment. Parking (both self and valet) is available for a fee at the South Loop Garage, located at 318 S. Federal Street; Club Quarters, Central Loop is affiliated with this garage.

The eight-story Club Quarters, Central Loop offers 108 smoke-free guestrooms with cherry-wood furnishings, blue-and-green checkered linens, and sitting areas stocked with reference books. High-speed wired and wireless Internet access is complimentary. Bathrooms contain either shower/tub combinations or showers only. Select accommodations feature kitchenettes and sofa beds. All rooms include LCD TVs with satellite service, iPod docking stations, and coffeemakers. Rollaway beds are available.

Besides the on-site fitness room with equipment including a treadmill and elliptical and weight-training machines, guests can use facilities three blocks away at Bally's Total Fitness, where discounted passes are available.

"Don't expect too high"
This hotel is not as good as i thought when i stepped into my room. There are nobody help to carry your luggage to your room even though uou have many luggage and you are only one person. I usually like staying at club quarters central loop when I attend a nearby conference. This time, however, the price was jacked up by $20 a night making the price of the stay comparable to much more expensive hotels. The reason I went with CQ is that the queen superior is fairly large with a microwave, fridge and sink. The room was not as nice as the […] one I stayed in before and it was way too hot. I tried to cool it down using the in-room control but it didn't work. If CQ doesn't improve then I will forgo the fridge and micro and stay in a much nicer hotel for the price. Our stay was in mid-october, so you would not think the AC would be an issue. But a warm weekend caused problems. The a/c did not cool the room and that combined with no fan in the bathroom, caused the room to get hot after showers and no way to cool it down. They sent up a fan that helped a little. "Great location, staff not too helpful"
The location is excellent. The room was attractive, though slightly run-down (worn carpeting, scuffed furniture). Two specific problems: 1. On the first morning of my stay, the shower was ice cold. It was fixed for the second morning. 2. The room was not far from the elevator (not right next to it either), and on the second night of my stay the elevator […] was running every minute or so all night long. It was loud enough and frequent enough to make sleep impossible. I didn't hear anyone getting on or off; the elevator just seemed to be running all the time. I called the front desk at about 1:30 a.m. to ask for help. The front desk was not at all helpful. It was another couple of hours before the elevator trips finally became less constant. However, after a late night up town we came back with a bum outside harassing us and thought we would be safe once we came in the lobby. Unfortunately this hotel didn’t have staff in the lobby during those hours. It ends up the bum didn’t follow us in, but that didn’t help our feelings of security. The staff are the only thing exceptional about the hotel--the service is great. The location is right in the heart of things, and that is what you are paying for.
