"Nice Location-Shopping Trip"
Very comfortable stay. Room was small, but I didn't need much. Elevators a problem. Just not enough of them, so the waits were long. Buffet breakfast was way over priced and I only ate there because I was in a hurry. Skip that and go out for breakfast. Overall I'd stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice staff"
I stayed the first time and will come back for more ! Very friendly staff from checkin to the ladies who clean the rooms. They were more than just ghosts who look at the floor and hush hush into the empty rooms. The only thing is that the windows are not to open (at least in my room ) and that the heating system is very delicate. Either hot or cold... […] When I forgot my medication it took one short email only to get a reply that my meds have been send out already ! Wonderful job and thank you to the entire staff. "Girls weekend in Chicago"
The hotel was a great location for some Michigan Ave. shopping with my girlfriends. The hotel staff was wonderful and the service was extraordinary. The rooms were clean and comfortable although a bit small to share with 4 girls and all our bags. If I was alone or with my husband I would have likely gave this a 5/5. Sharing this room and bathroom with […] 3 other women was adequate, but it would have been nice if the room and bathroom was a bit larger. overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. "Return for Halloween"
My 5th time staying here, that's how much I like it. It's like my go to hotel when needing somewhere to stay. The staff is nice and young like me (Most of them), everything is always very clean, I very much like how the building is right here on Michegan right where the busiest area is that I know of, easy to find and the beds are SSOOOO comftable and […] the sheets are VERY soft. It's like I never wanna get out of the bed. :D Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We booked through hotels.com mobile, which turned out to be easiest n less expensive way for an impromptu overnight stay. The room was clean n basic for that kind of stay. Check-in and Check-out were a breeze. We will surely consider booking at The Allerton again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great central location in the Loop"
The Allerton is a comfortable gem in downtown Chicago. On the Magnificent Mile, it's also close to public transit and walking distance to Grant Park, the river and theater district. Felt quiet and safe, with friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great service at the Allerton"
My stay at the Allerton was amazing. I needed to change rooms due to my own superstitions and they were willing and happy to do so. Before I entered the new room which now faces The beautiful Michigan Avenue, the phone was ringing, with a friendly person on the phone asking if the new room was to my liking. They are so friendly and make you feel like […] your comfort is their number one priority. I will always stay at the Allerton hotel if I had to book a hotel in Chicago. Loved the stayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We checked in really late, we had to pay $60 for parking for only 1 night. We got to the very so tinny room only to discover that the Heater wasn't working in the room. Maintenance came and fix it. Checked out in the morning, the front desk attendant double charged my credit card, after paying online already at Hotel. Com. Huribble Experience. Will […] not recommend and will not be there ever again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a great stay! The hotel was clean, friendly, and our room was better than we expected. It was surprisingly spacious and the view was amazing! I definitely will stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For the price the hotel was OK. Staff was great and location fantastic on mag mile. Room set up was neaT. Just some wear and tear repairs needed fixed. But overall OK.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good hotel, but only if discounted"
I liked the Allerton hotel. It was in a very convenient location to many Chicago attractions, as well as close to the bus and subway. I don't think its worth it when booked at full price, other than the location. The hotel is well-maintained and clean, but nothing that was above the ordinary or that wowed me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"$60 parking suprise"
The hotel experience was fine. I wish somone would have told us it would cost another $60 to park our car overnight. Needless to say I was not impressed with that charge. Should it not be included in the motel room cost? I would expect to pay that if I was downtown for another event, but to say in a hotel it is very excessive. The Valet parking was […] awesome and I tipped them well for it. Not hapyy with the $60 suprise! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Regular rooms are the smallest I have ever seen!"
If you stay here, get a suite rather than a standard room. Standard rooms are about as wide as the length of a queen sized bed...uncomfortably small. Well located hotel next to Michigan avenue shops and sights.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Concierge service pretty bad!!!"
The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to major sites, stores and lake. The only bad experience we had was with the concierge who believed he was only there to sell tickets and not to inform clients. Really bad atitude!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
great hotel and location but parking was quote expensive--$60 per day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value in the heart of Chicago"
Staff was very helpful with directions to nearby transportation needs. I would definitely go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location was key"
The staff was very friendly/helpful, clean room with good view. I really appreciated the fact that they had a specific computer to check-in to your flight and print your boarding passes. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the city at a centralized location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
$27 for a mini bottle of Grey Goose was a bit pricey.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Location of the Allerton Hotel was great for museums, shopping and restaurants. Only drawback was their restaurant was not open for dinner, although you could have light food in the bar at night. We will return to the Allerton in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Always love the Allerton"
I always love staying in this hotel, it's a great location right off of Michigan Avenue, not too pricy, and rooms are phenomenal! However, this particular stay we were on the top floor, and unfortunately that is a loud floor, with hearing the elevator noises 24/7. We will alway stay here but next time know to ask for a different floor!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel on the Magnificent Mile"
Enjoyed our stay except for the toilet not flushing properly, felt uncomfortable using the bathroomGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, but small room"
The hotel is very nice & our room was clean. However, it was a bit small & there was no chair in the room, other than a desk chair (office type), but not comfortable for relaxing. The bathroom was small & no counter space to put our things on. We were across from the ice machine, which was quite noisy...even during the night. Lastly...we were disappointed […] that there was not free internet access in the rooms...only in public areas of the hotel.. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel with great staff. Very friendly. The overnight charge for the car was a killer!! Ridiculously expensive!!!!! Fly if you can.Genuine Expedia guest review
Ok.....first let me start by saying that this hotel was located directly where I wanted to stay. It is downtown and within walking distance to museums, navy pier and night life - not to mention the amazing shopping on Michigan Ave. My room was a deluxe king room. The bed was fabulous and I slept wonderfully. I had large windows which didn't have much […] of a view, but that is to be expected since this is downtown - high rises don't provide for much of a view. I'm okay with that. However, if you are looking for a view, don't stay here - stay on Lake Shore Drive which is along Lake Michigan. The room was small, but I traveled alone and it was enough for me! I didn't plan on spending much time there other than sleeping, so it didn't matter. It was clean with simple lines and decorated in a minimalist style which I love. The staff was friendly, and the lounge was great as well. I enjoyed drinks and appetizers there and were impressed. (P.S. - I recommend the chicken quesadilla....it sure hit the spot!) I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I am ever in Chicago again! :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel is situated in an excellent street in the heart of the shopping experience and a few blocks from the Millenium Park to the south and to the most fancy restaurant area to the north. You also have 3 blocks away the Art museumGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, comfortable."
Right on Magnificent Mile in outstanding location. Staff are polite and helpful, especially concierge who helped to arrange the Chicago River boat tour.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Staring at a wall"
The hotel room was small. The view from the room was a red brick wall which rooms on the lower floors opposite from the Michigan Avenue rooms have. One positive, the hotel location is great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to shopping and resturants"
The stay was excellent, could not have asked for better. Room was small, but adequate and quite comfortable. We plan to visit Chicago frequently and would stay at the Allerton because of the accommodations and the location. Could not asked for more service than we received. The breakfast buffet in the hotel was a disappointment - not much choice, limited […] quality of the food and very pricey. We chose not to eat in the hotel after having the breakfast. However, plenty of good locations for dining within walking distance from the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location. tiny rooms. not 4 star hotel"
I got a tiny room, that in order to get from one side of the room to the other you must clime on the bed. had to 'disturb' the bell boys to get some help with the luggage.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Better off in modern hotel."
Staff was courteous and knowlegable. Rooms were clean and well appointed. However, view from room was fire escape and aley, lignting was dim in the room itself (OK in bathroom), $10 extra for a very slow internet was of little value, especially when it was shut off at midnight, the restuarant was closed for dinner and there was inadequate lounge space […] when you wanted to get away from your room. "Allerton central location"
I stayed at the Allerton because it is so central, right on the corner of Huron and Magnificent Mile. It was great as the handy location made it much easier for me to explore Chicago city.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for Dining and Shopping"
The Allerton is conveniently located to shopping and dining areas. The hotel is very old so in and out with luggage is a bit inconvenient and elevators were very slow and small but to be expected in a building of this age. Room was nice but small and AC not super but suited us fine. I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone who wants convenience […] with a bit of charm. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
