The Silversmith Hotel & Suites is located in Chicago, IL., in the center of The Loop area and Financial District. The hotel stands at the corner of Wabash and Monroe streets, two blocks from The Art Institute of Chicago and Buckingham Fountain. Millennium Park is located one block from this property.

Built in 1897, this national landmark hotel features a marble mosaic entry hall, a marble and cast-iron grand staircase, and an intricate classical relief ceiling and silver display. The hotel offers a 24-hour fitness center and a business center. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in the lobby. Ada's Famous Deli & Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, including homemade soups and sandwiches. The 14 Karat Lounge serves cocktails and offers lunch and dinner fare. "AbsolutelyPerfect Location"

Silversmith Hotel is in a great location - literally a few steps from the Wabash "L" station and a short walk from Michigan Ave. and State St. I took public transportation or walked to everything. The room was very large and clean. Be sure to request a room that is on a high floor on the interior side of the hotel to be as far away as possible from […] the "L" tracks and noise. Ada's Deli, which is adjacent to the hotel, serves a completely uninspired breakfast. But there are bakeries and restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. "perfect, but don't bring a car"
Perfect place to stay in downtown Chicago. Plenty of attractions, stores, and restaurants within walking distance. The only regret I have is bringing my car. I paid well over $200 over the weekend for parking. Next time I visit downtown Chicago, I'm taking the train.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location for downtown stay"

Incredibly comfortable room. I ended up booking a King Executive Sweet because it was the cheapest. The bed was wonderful. Large bathroom. Large LG tvs in the bedroom and living room. Free wi-fi. "Wonderful for a weekend away"
We loved our stay at the Silversmith. The rooms are small but beautiful and clean and elegant and we were within blocks of the restaurants and shows and spa that we spent the weekend visiting. The staff was helpful and attentive, the internet and room fridge were free, and we were surprised at how quiet it was - so close to the elevated train tracks. […] We never heard them. You can't go wrong with a stay here.If you prefer not to pay Valet parking($50) you have self parking all around the block($37 a day).Or for a little more excercise and a little less coinage there are two garrages under Michigan Ave ($30).I opted for self park.You can always go back to the car for whatever.The room was nice with high ceilings,clean […] feel,large restroom.The people at the Lobby desk were friendly and quite pleasant.As far as the location goes, you are very aware of the L train being at your front door.I never heard it inside the room.If your out walking to see the sights locating the train makes it easy to find your way back to the room.At one point in the early morn was back at the garrage looking out the east side down below workers were doing maintenence to the tracks.From the same vantage point you get a glimpse of Sail boats on Lake Michigan.The moment was a nice pause from the bussle of the day.So I guess the L really only added a little intrigue to which was a pleasant visit to this wonderful City of Chicago.P.S.Went to Wrigley to watch the cardinals take on the cubs. Our hotel was conveniently located. Could reach many attractions by walking. Staff was very friendly and helpful, except for housekeeping. They would short us towels everyday and never cleaned our bathroom or vaccum our room the entire time we stayed. They did change our linens and replenish supplies. Me and my bud were there for a Bulls game and were amazed with the quality and convenience of the Silversmiths location. I would recommend not going to the restaurant downstairs for breakfast.
