We were initially greeted by hotel valet who were very pleasant and helpful. The front desk was busy but friendly and quick. Due to current renovations, the elevators were located in the lobby of the building connected to our hotel. We stayed in an older room but it was cozy and clean. The hotel was located within short walking distances to all of the […] places we wanted to visit , which made the trip much more enjoyable since we never needed to use the car. The only thing that I disliked about the location is that it is near a hospital so sirens were heard often, but thankfully they never disrupted our sleep. Great price, will definitely visit again! Hotel was clean and in a great location. I chose it because it had a pool and hot tub. Come to find out after the fact that they were unavailable for use due to remodeling...my fiancé was pretty bummed. Other that that its a pretty nice place for the money.

The hotel, restaurant and staff was excellent. IT was just odd that in the week of travel we did, it was the nicest hotel and the one we paid the most for, but it also had the worst TV. Old fuzzy CRT.

The room was a good size, however, all the early 90's outdated furniture was a bit disheartening as well as the old, stained carpet. I have stayed at lower grade hotels with flat screen tvs and this hotel still had tube tvs. Not worth was I paid at all.

Overall it wasn't real bad but the hotel is soon to be under renovation. The fact that the valet parking was $54 a day (10/13/12) was very pricey and totally unexpected. We went out one evening and when we got back we waited 40 minutes for a valet person to take our car to the parking garage. My girlfriend had to go to 2nd floor where front desk is […] to have someone call down to take our car to parking area. Location was excellent. Magnificent mile was a block away. A very nice bakery and cafe were right across the street. Room was clean but dated. Bed was so so. TV was great but no HD channels. All in all once the hotel is remodeled (Dec 2012 start) it should be an awesome hotel. We will try this hotel again when renovations are complete. Read more

Hotel amenities-There was no microwave in the room, there was a box tv not a flat screen, there was an old wet washclothes hanging from the shower when we arrived, the fridge half way worked, I would not stay there again I expected better from the hyatt especially for the price.

The stay was wonderful other than not being told about a $75 charge per day to my credit card for incidentals ..... which there were none so now there is a $75 charge pending on my credit card. I should have been told about this at check in.

The chandalier in the staircase needs to be cleaned as that is a focal point of the lobby. The furniture in the lobby needs to be spruced up a bit. It looks as if it came from a cheap hotel. Our room did not have wash cloths or a rug for the bathroom floor. Our neighbors came in at 3 am very drunk and very very loud and then got up at 7 screaming and […] singing. I've been visiting Chicago for many years now, but I'll never, ever return to this hotel. The lobby is beautiful, but as soon as I exited the elevator the carpets were obviously dirty. In my room, the sunshade was off its track, had to call the desk to get that taken care of. The bathroom was huge, but only had one basin. The maid turned the A/C UP […] in our absence! The hotel is across the street from Northwestern Medical Center so sirens were often heard. In all fairness, I must say the staff was unfailingly kind and responsive. There are several really good dining choices within easy walking distance of the front door (don't forget to try West Egg!) If you're coming here looking for a typical Hyatt you are bound to be disappointed. If all you want is a cheap place to hang your hat for a couple days you may be OK. Read more

For a 4-star hotel the room was "dated": old style TV (not flat screen), blinds not working properly - loose track, room temperature set at 66 degrees (even though it was summer), we had to call maintenance to adjust to heat, coffee-maker didn't work, and all thisd after we paid for an up-graded room.

We had an excellent time, just need to work on the air conditioning. We were comfortable but had to make sure to keep the curtains closed during the day. The thermostat said 65, but it wasn't 65 in the room.

Over all is was nice, the curtains in the room don't close so if have an east facing room prepared to be up at 7am. The bed was really nice, sheets clean, but as for the rest of the room/bathroom, it was only surface cleaned. The shower could have used a good scrubbing and they missed a pile of crackers on the floor. The pool area is nice though.

Location is very nice; one block east of Michigan Ave Crate and Barrel store and Corner Bakery, Easy walk to Watertower Place. The room was OK, but small. The bed was so hard we woke up in pain several times. The TV was not great. The pool is totally unsuitable for adult relaxation, at least on weekends, but OK for noisy children's play. We called for towels, but they brought so few they were gone before I got to the table. The hot tub is immediately next to the pool, and the deck is so narrow that 2 people can't walk by each other. It's not mentioned in any of the information but to park at this hotel there is only Valet parking and it is $52 a day. Ridiculous! The hotel itself is mediocre, the rooms feel dated and cramped. We stayed at the Wyndham to celebrate the arrival of the New Year! The location was excellent. We were able to walk for shopping, the Art Institute and it was a quick taxi ride to the train station and to Graham Elliot's for an excellent meal. The room was comfortable and generally clean. The Wyndham used to be a world class hotel, but now looks like it has moved into tourist class. Rooms are dated and need refreshing but at least are clean.
