Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel

Would have rated 5 on everything, however there was no mini fridge in the room which had bummed me and some friends. Had to give away our Gino's east pizza left overs. It would be nice if the pool was open at earlier or later times for individuals over 18. It would be nice to relax in the pool or hot tub for a little while without having younger children […] running around screaming and splashing. Overall was a good experience. Location, location, location. Stayed over a weekend to attend a performance at the Chicago Theater (to our surprise, just across the street). Walking distance to many bars and restaurants. The room was extremely clean. The hotel was very clean and close to the major city attractions. We had a view of the river and lake Michigan. The elevator was very fast and big enough for ten people to fit in. There are bars and restaurants on the first floor. The beds were so cozy that it was very hard to get up and do anything else but stay in bed

I was thrilled with this hotel selection. We had the benefit of having a room facing the river, so we had a wonderful view of the river, the Trump Tower, etc. The room was large, comfortable and very clean. The location of this hotel is unbeatable for ease - it is blocks from the Blue Line making access to the OHare extremely easy, and the Red Line […] makes North/South travel easy, and the Brown Line is two blocks away. The area was very quiet after midnight - with no food options around, so that was the one disappointment. High recommend this property. Read more

Very nice hotel, close to the trains, theaters, shopping and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the bar was nice and comfortable. Take advantage of the free bicycles and go for a ride alongside Lake Michigan. No refrigerator in the room.

The room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. We liked the non-smoking policy. Staff were nice and responsive to requests. Starbucks staff in lobby were a bit brusque but all others we encountered were helpful, and we didn't feel the pressure to tip every few seconds. Lovely view from second floor restaurant. Nice bar area with complimentary potato […] chips and reasonably priced drinks. Close enough to walk to Michigan Ave, Navy Pier, Art Inst. in good weather. Pool was a bit small and there were lots of kids in it. I'd stay here again, if given the same discount. We had to pay a lot for parking -- 47 dollars -- in order to park at the hotel and get in-out privileges but we didn't need them as we were able to walk to everything. However, having paid for two days, we were allowed to leave the car in the parking lot until 6 p.m. on the day of checkout and leave our bags at the desk. So, all things considered, it probably wasn't much more expensive than the city lots, some of which don't let you park overnight. Read more

The Chicago hotel was centrally located. It was a short cab ride to all downtown locales. There was also shopping and restuarants in walking distance from the hotel. The customer service was excellent. There was free wifi in the lobby but not in the room. This was a minor inconvenience.

Hotel is great if you're going to see a show, and Michigan Ave is only a block or two away. We had a river view room, and the view was very nice. If you're worried about fitting 4 people in a room with two queen sized beds, don't be, because the room was actually quite big. The only thing that went wrong the entire trip was the carelessness of the parking […] valet when we called our car to leave. It took 20 minutes to get the car, and my friend missed her train home.
