The usual sports-bar trappings are here—football memorabilia and numerous flat-screen TVs tuned to ESPN—but Ditka's has a classy feel. Its dark woods, leather booths, and white-linen tables complement the menu of upscale fare and an extensive wine list. Upstairs, there is a table reserved for Iron Mike himself, who dines here several times a week. The restaurant is open daily. Dinner reservations recommended.

"Not bad - neighbor rooms were loud"
The hotel was decent enough. Biggest problem was - the doors allowing you into the neighboring rooms had no sound barrier. The door even had a crack in the bottom. We could hear every word they said, and it was loud until late into the early parts of the morning...Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Old, outdated & no room service"
Rooms need some updating as thry are rather old. There was chipped paint & cracks in the walls, pretty old furnishings and a very old vanity in the bathroom. If Ditka's restaurant advertises they are in the Tremont hotel, they should at least provide room service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not what I expected .."
Called front desk, no answer..no hot water (felt more luke warm), not really good on space either. I reserved a standard QUEEN and it felt as if I was staying in a standard small sized room. The closet was in the bathroom behind the door (this was really annoying)..the ceiling fan turned on by itself and the alarm clock made static noises that I ended […] up unplugging it and using my cell phone as an alarm clock. Aside from all that, location was great, complimentary wi-fi was good and complementary water was good. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Location was great. Room was a bit small but the bed was comfy. Would stay again for short stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Unforgettable experience. .."
We loved the atmosphere the Tremont bought. We thought it should have had a swimming pool, or exercise room. Would have also loved a hot breakfast menu instead of just cold entrées, but the staff were friendly and helpful, that would make us return again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location with some charm"
Stayed there for a night, just to get away and walk around downtown and have drinks. The hotel was actually more than I expected for an older hotel I was very pleased with that overall price was decent for the location. I would come again. I would recommend the price was great, and self park was like $40.00Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Tremont"
Hotel was a good location but that's the only positive. The rooms were tiny, dirty, and very old. Would not recommend staying in this hotel. Plenty other options in area for the same price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Tremont Hotel"
I recently stayed at the Tremont Hotel, and was very disappointed. First of all, the staff was unfriendly when we checked in. Second the hotel only has one tiny elevator, which is extremely slow. Once we got to room, we walked into a wall of stench. the entire time the room smelled very musty and moldy. the paint and wallpaper was peeling off of the […] ceilings and walls. the bathroom was okay, but very, very small. Last but not least the walls were paper thin, slept very poorly, due to being able to hear every noise in the hallway and the extremely noisy elevator. Couldn't ask for a better location however, right off Michigan Ave, about 200 yards from the Water Tower. If you are looking for a very cheap hotel with good location, this is the spot for you. if you are interested in a comfortable, relaxing, clean hotel, I would recommend you look elsewhere. "My stay at the Treemont hotel in Chicago"
The bed was very comfortable but the room was very smal but it did not matter since we hardly stayed there only to sleep. It was also walking distance to the JohnHancock Tower.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic hotel- best location"
I am not sure why this hotel has received less than favorable reviews. The hotel is an old building so knowing that I'm not sure why people are suprised by the room size or the elevator. Our room was very nice, you can tell it's high quality. I've stayed at 4 star hotels that were not as nice at this. The bed was comfortable, the staff was very accomodating. […] There isn't a coffeemaker in the room but there is a Starbucks right across the street. We will stay here again the next time we visit Chicago. The location is perfect. "Location is the only reason to stay"
The location is awesome ... hotel not so much. Its old and outdated so don't go if you're trying to impress your girl. If you won't be in your room much and shopping is the agenda, its perfect.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Tremont"
I loved the location. When we go back, I definately plan on staying in that area again. But, the hotel was very shabby. Our window sill was crumbling, the vent was moldy and dripping, the shower ran out of both the shower head and the bath faucet, it smelled gross, and it took at least 5 swipes of the key card to get in the room. Since we spent mimimal […] time in the room, it was tolerable. But I would probably spend a little more to stay somewhere else in that area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Tremont Hotel Chicago - Charming"
The Tremont at 100 Chestnut St. in Chicago was only a block to Michigan Ave and the WaterTower Place. Chicago's temps were in the 90's and humid but the Tremont was cool, comfortable and no drafts when the AC came on. It was very reasonably priced, very clean and our room was beautifully decorated. The bathroom was had a great shower. We'll go there […] next year and many times thereafter. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good hotel, great location"
this hotel is located 1 block from the john hancock building, which is great. There is a lot of good food that is within walking distance, including the hershey's store and ghiradelli's store. we booked for a very low rate and it was well worth it. the only problems were that the hotel was a little old, the elevator was scary, ice is only available […] on the 1st floor, and i believe the receptionist was robbed when we were there. i'm not positive if she was mugged, but i did not feel unsafe because there were cops all around the area we stayed and i knew if anything happened we would have help nearby. Another positive to this hotel is that it is right next to loyola campus so there is a lot of cheap places to eat only 2 or 3 blocks away. this hotel is a nice throwback and a nice place to stay for a good price in a great location. "Tremont Chicago - Location and efficiency"
Stayed here for a week, older hotel with small rooms a few short steps from Michigan ave. Extremely pleased with this hotel. Looking to stay again next year for location and price while still remaining a clean pleasant place to stay. Very basic one elevator one person at front desk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Will Return"
Although I am usually a fan of modern hotels, I love the old school charm of this hotel. My husband really enjoyed the location and appreciated how clean the room was. The staff was helpful and we strongly recommend eating at Ditka's at least one night during your stay in Chicago. Despite the fact that there wasn't a pool or a business center, the hotel […] provided all that we needed for our 5 day stay in the Windy City- especially its proximity to the Magnificent Mile. "Tremont Hotel Chicago...great location"
great rooms, central location. The air conditioning had problems keeping up, but I'm not sure if that was because of Chicago's erratic weather (60 one day 90 the next) Also, one elevator which means you might have to wait during when lots of people are coming or going (mornings and late afternoon)Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Value for the Money"
The room was quiet and clean. Quiet is a big plus for the neighborhood. Conveniently located off Michigan Avenue and accessible to everything. For $5 more you can get the continental breakfast for two at the restaurant Ditka's in the same building. It's well worth the $5 - breakfast was muffins, fruit and coffee. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"quaint if not full of extrax"
Quaint much older hotel. Seemed short staffed - but also not busy so perhaps they were saving on overhead. No valet when we pulled up - unloaded our own luggage - not an issue - just sharing. Room was comfortable in size. Bed was comfortable - but very high off ground - so harder to get in and out of. Also - bedside tables were not an appropriate height […] to the bed - so very difficult to get to items on bedside table. Bathroom seemed dingy and mirrored closet was broken. We were the last room on a hallway and it was akward to get into room as door was so heavy and corridor narrowed and had a hard right turn at our doorway. Desk delivered ice when requested as no ice dispensers on floor. For the price and location - it was not bad and we would stay there again if it was lowest price in the area. "Tremont location is AMAZING"
The location for the Tremont hotel in Chicago was awesome! We were able to walk EVERYWHERE from the hotel. The lobby and the rooms of the hotel were very nice. Everything is a little dated but it adds to the charm of the place. We loved everything about our stay, we enjoyed the employees, the room and the astounding perfect location! The only complaint […] we had was that housekeeping did not come in to take out our trash, bring us fresh towels, or make our bed. That was a little bothersome. Other than this little annoyance we loved the hotel and will DEFINITELY stay there again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tremont - Chicago"
This hotel yet old has the best location and a great price. Being older it has no amenities. We were disappointed with no coffee pot in room and no ice buckets or ice machines. There is a nice little continental breakfast in the joining restaurant at a good deal. I would recommend this hotel for the location and price!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Review"
This is not a 5 star hotel, but adequate and clean. It was not fancy, but our room was simple. The hotel employees were not very friendly. I was not impressed with their service. Do NOT waste your money on the $5/person continental breakfast. It consisted of bagels, fruit, cereal, and some beverages. There are plenty off Starbucks in the area! The […] location of this hotel was PRIME. It was close to lots of shopping and very convenient. We would stay here again because of it's location. Overall, not a bad experience. "Lovely European hotel experience"
We could not get to Paris this Christmas, so we opted to stay here in Chicago. The Tremont has the European charm we were looking for. The staff was fun and professional. They made telephone calls for us if we needed a restaurant or tickets. The whole experience was wonderful. I stayed there in October and wanted my husband to see it. "Perfect location central to most everything"
The lobby is festive, the smells are spicy, and the location is perfect. Starbucks across the street, free wifi in the lobby and the rooms, and staff that was accommodating and friendly. This hotel is older, and not of the quality of a luxury chain, but what it lacks in "extras" it makes up for with its one block away from Michigan Ave location. Its […] fantastic for taking a lap up and back on the magnificent mile, dropping your shopping goodies off, and doing it all over again. It's close to Cheescake Factory, and if you walk a short block in the other direction you have McCormick's and the pubs, parties, and fun of Rush street. We had a corner room, and it lacked a few extra tables or chairs that we were able to see in some of the main hall rooms. It was also a little smaller and triangular in dimensions. The bed was quite bouncy, and really the room was basic, but as I mentioned, the location was perfect and the staff was wonderful. We'd stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
