"Perfect Location"
Walked to the Chicago History Museum, walked the Magnificent Mile and all around the neighborhood. Ditka's for dinner, a walk to Blue Chicago and the Tremont was right in the middle of it all with a comfy bed, and free breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay!"
This is a very nice hotel. It lacks some of the amenities I come to expect in a hotel, but it makes up for it in location. It is a half a block from the Magnificent Mile!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Michigan Ave, next door to Ditkas"
All was good, very quiet, very comfortable. Staff was very accommodating. Room was clean. Ditka's is right next door, good drinks and food there. Hotel is walking distance to a lot of shopping and food.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"comfortable but old"
the hotel was in an excellent location and the bed was very comfy but overall the room did not appear well maintained. The electrical plates were coming off the wall, one of the miniblind ropes' attachment to the wall was broken and there was a large hole in the wall. Needs updating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Quaint! The location in Chicago was superb. And it was attached directly to Mike Ditkas Restaurant. Very nice. We will be back!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Needs Updating"
The Tremont is in a great location, but is in need of updating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cozy and convenient"
This hotel is charming, small, and cozy. Very friendly and helpful staff. I was very comfortable there and loved the neighborhood feel of the location..yet it was convenient to restaurants, theatres and shops. I would love to stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice and close to Water Tower Place"
Nice hotel for the price. It was small and older. Had very nice staff, very willing to answer any and all questions. Could use some renovations, I think they were starting on the lobby when we left. Windows were single pane and let in cold air. Excellent location, but the parking was a little confusing and expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"OK for the price"
Small room that never warmed up. ( It was in the teens, but with two large windows, the antiquated heating system couldn't keep up.) Vintage hotel and great location for a good price. Parking was over half the cost of the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great experience!"
We.moved to this hotel from another one and it was great! The service was great, the room was great, the bed was awesome, it looked very nice and clean. Plus the restaurant it is connected to was awesome! Definitely considering this hotel again for our next trip to the city!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to all all the shopping and restaurants"
I found my room very cozy and clean! My bed was very comfortable and luxurious. The towel service was also very luxurious - nice and thick and soft towels! The continental breakfast offered for $10 at Ditka's next door was very elegant! A nice change from the normal chain hotels! and so close to the John Hancock and the Magnificent Mile!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Value"
Saturday night stay in the city Jan 2013. Booked a king room, it was more than we expected. Extremely friendly staff, nice size room w/ comfortable bed. I'm surprised by how inexpensive it was. Would recommend!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"you will pay for it"
The hotel is located very close to the north shore attractions, which is wonderful and convenient for out of town guests. There are hidden charges though to be careful of...the main one being the complimentary breakfast. It is not complimentary. No where did it tell you about the charge for the less than satisfactory breakfast. We simply went in and […] sat down. They asked our room number, which we assumed was to make sure we were staying at the hotel, then we had a cold breakfast which didn't befit such a lovely place. As we were checking out, we were told the breakfast had been charged to us for $9.95/person. We were outraged mostly because it was never told to us, printed on sign...NOTHING. So be careful. Also there is no fridge, and you must call for ice. There is no vending in the hotel. There is a charge for parking of $54/day. You can park down the street in the garage for $37/day. "Great Location"
Great location, comfortable and clean bed. Older, but well kept hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Acceptable hotel; could be better."
The service was great all in all, and everyone was plenty friendly. The housekeeping attempted to knock only on one of the three mornings we were there and directly tried to enter the other times. There's only one moderately busy elevator, which did not make living on the 14th floor very convenient. The main reason I give this hotel 3 stars overall […] is because that is what its value deserves. While the cost for each night is acceptable, parking in the area is expensive, and the hotel's valet parking is even more expensive at $54. Would not recommend if a car is part of the party. Also, the website states the complimentary breakfast is $5; it is $10. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect last minute trip to Chicago!"
Perfect location! Magnificent Mile and Hancock Building within 2 blocks! Starbucks directly across the street. Public parking close by. Maria at the front desk was very friendly and helpful with local attractions. Room was small but clean and perfect for 2. Thank you for a great stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value, great customer service, great locatio"
This is the first time I've taken time to write a review. I was so pleased with this hotel!! The staff and level of customer service was fantastic! They even jump started my car at checkout time when it wouldn't start. The price was right. I'd go back!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Mostly okay experience"
The only problem was that my room was very hot and that there was nothing they could do about it. I managed by opening the windows and waiting. It became bearable reasonably quickly. Other than that, the staff was very good and the experience was satisfactory.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel"
Great location and clean. Spent some time waiting for the elevator but in general very nice!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great staff, slightly worn"
The staff was so good, it made up for having only one elevator, smallish room for the price, and scuffs on the elevator wall. From front door to front desk to housekeeping, the staff was cheerful, prompt, and very helpful. Professionals all. The room was clean, well furnished and comfortable, and wi-fi was free and easy to connect..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Situation was quite good"
Considering the cost of the accommodation I would not recommend this hotel as there was nothing at all supplied in the way of tea or coffee making facilities. The air conditioning fans would wake the dead as was the fan in the bath room. Not all the lights in the room worked and the wardrobe door needed fixing. All of these things I think reflect the […] the general attitude of the management of this hotel which is disappointing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location - OK room"
After reading reviews, I thought the hotel would fix some of the problems. I got the room with the tub/shower that drained very slowly. Good thing the main elevator didn't work very well because it was next to my room - at least I didn't have noise from the elevator. I still would recommend it because of the location. It was great!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great older hotel in very nice area"
The Tremont was older indeed, but was a great value and in an amazing location. I was very impressed with the close proximity to Michigan Ave and Rush Street. We were within walking distance if almost everything we wanted. Very cozy room with updated bathroom, bed, tv, and draperies. Right next to Ditka's which I recommend. Valet parking was very nice […] as well. Make sure that you go down Chestnut and eat at Pizanos. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The Tremont Hotel was Fine But..."
Pros: The hotel location was perfect. Customer service from the clerks/valets was superb. Whatever I needed, the Tremont staff tried their best to accommodate me and I definitely appreciated it. The waiter/bar staff at Ditka’s, right below Tremont; was also impressive. Cons: The rooms were not very modern, they looked old. The room was clean but not […] up-to-date; even the hallways looked a little run down. The TV channels were somewhat limited and at times the TV cut out. There was only 1 customer elevator and it seemed was very ancient; to me the elevator looked like something built in the 50’s and it felt like it could break down at any moment. Overall: I gave this hotel 3 stars only because the customer service and location was excellent. The hotel price was cheaper than the average hotel in that area, however, my next visit I will pay the extra $75-$100 a night to get the amenities I’m used to. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Terrible"
I was locked out my hotel room because the batteries in the card reader on the door were dead. So it took them two hours to let me into my room. Then because I was locked out they gave me a let check out but I was woken twice by the housekeeping asking when I was leaving. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.Genuine Expedia guest review

The Parking Situation Sucks! The hotel does not validate at all. I love the area though. Bed very comfortable. Shower hot and powerful though it has not been updated for quite awhile and the tile was knocked up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Much better places to stay for the same price"
Neglected old hotel! Carpet needs to be replaced, bathroom need to be updated but most of all the two old, small, slow and noisy elevators need to replaced too! I'm a coffee drinker that likes coffee first thing in the morning but no coffee maker in the room. They do not have a lobby store but there is a Starbucks across the street and a Walgreens about […] 1 1/2 blocks away. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very bad hotel"
Only good thing is location. Everything else is horrible. Parking is whopping $54 a night. Only one bed in the room. No coffee machine or microwave in the room. Dirty old room and bathroom. Bathtub was clogged, water went away extremely slowly....I can go on and on... Don't stay there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, Great Staff!"
The Tremont is perfectly situated for a North of the river stay in downtown Chicago. The staff was very attentive and went above and beyond - we left a bottle of wine in the trunk of our car when the valet took it to be parked, and when I called to enquire it was delivered to my room in an ice bucket complete with two glasses! The bed and linens were […] very comfortable and the bathroom was not enormous but definitely large enough for two. It's an older building, and there was a little noise from an adjacent room, but we found it ideal for our overnight stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent"
Quaint hotel. Good location and price for what it is. Rooms a little drab, but for the price it's expected. Don't do the breakfast in the morning! Total rip off. Better off at sbux across the street!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Everything was missing"
Was expecting a vintage “Grande Dame” property with class and charter. NOT! Rooms extremely small. Shower dripped or more liked drizzled continually, lots of fun while trying to sleep. The silverfish in the dresser drawer were an interesting surprise. Wallpaper drooping with water behind it. Service was without any service or personality with the exception […] of the bellman who was a delight with a continual smile. There are hundreds of other options in this area of Chicago. Anyone of them would be a better choice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location, needs some work"
We were happy to have been upgraded to a suite - very nice to have the extra space and kitchen! Things we wished we did have: better lighting, cleaner carpeting, larger bathroom, hair dryer, coffee in room, a working safe. Overall, it was a great location and price, but could use updating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
