The centrally located Tremont Chicago was built in 1929 and is located within one quarter-mile of Water Tower Place and the Museum of Contemporary Art. The Art Institute of Chicago and the Lincoln Park Zoo are within two miles of the hotel.

Mike Ditka's - Owned by former Bears coach "Iron Mike" Ditka this restaurant serves American cuisine with inventive twists. The usual sports-bar trappings are here—football memorabilia and numerous flat-screen TVs tuned to ESPN—but Ditka's has a classy feel. Its dark woods, leather booths, and white-linen tables complement the menu of upscale fare and an extensive wine list. Upstairs, there is a table reserved for Iron Mike himself, who dines here several times a week. The restaurant is open daily. Dinner reservations recommended.
Guests of The Tremont receive complimentary use of the fitness facilities at the Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago.
The hotel is less than five blocks from a lakeside path used for running, biking, and in-line skating. The Marovitz public golf course, 4.5 miles from the hotel, offers a challenging and scenic golf experience along Lake Michigan.

"Great location, quiet and clean."
The hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to the elevated train and wonderful shopping and resaurants. It was very clean, comfortable and quiet. "My favorite place to stay in Chicago"
My ONLY complaint about the Tremont Hotel is that there is NO vending machines or snack foods or drinks available. When I got back to the hotel at 11 pm after a long day, I just wanted to lay down & relax. I thought it would be nice to have a Coke or cup of coffee & maybe a snack before bed so I called down and asked where the vending machines were. […] (No coffee maker in the room either) I was informed that there were none on the property. The closest place to go get something was a 10 minute walk to Walgreens. Since it was raining, I settled for the warm bottle of complimentary water sitting on the desk.... It's not THAT big of a deal. But how difficult is it to have ONE soda machine? The Tremont was older indeed, but was a great value and in an amazing location. I was very impressed with the close proximity to Michigan Ave and Rush Street. "This was our 2nd stay at the Tremont"
We like staying downtown. My wife loves the close proxmity to the Magnificent Mile. Its easy and quick for her to walk to the stores. We are just a block off Michigan . Next door to Mike Ditkas restaurant. If you stay at the hotel you can buy a 5 dollar continent breakfast just a few steps from the front desk. Normal fare. bagels, cereal , OJ, Milk […] coffee, rolls , some fruit .A nice light breakfast for very cheap thats fast . But if you need Starbucks, its right across the street. The staff is nice . I am not sure why this hotel has received less than favorable reviews. The hotel is an old building so knowing that I'm not sure why people are suprised by the room size or the elevator. Our room was very nice, you can tell it's high quality. I've stayed at 4 star hotels that were not as nice at this. The bed was comfortable, the staff was very accomodating.
