Great deal, very clean, location was perfect, and service was great. Breakfast was delicious. Yes the room was small, but I was traveling alone and it was just fine for me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Place for Short Trips"
I came to Chicago for a quick two day trip for a conference in the Loop area. The hotel is located conveniently close to a subway station, saving me money on taxis, and the surrounding area is extremely safe. The hotel is also across the street from a Trader Joes, Starbucks, and several other eating establishments, including the Hard Rock Cafe. Moreover, […] the staff was extremely helpful in answering my questions about the local area and how to get around Chicago. And the continental breakfast was perfect for my busy schedule, as well as the coffee and tea that is available all day in the lobby/lounge. They even helped me to get a cab for the airport that next day for my early morning flight. Above all else, I will definitely use this hotel again for business trips to Chicago. The room was just right, not too plush so I wouldn't leave it but not too uncomfortable to where I wouldn't want to return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Value for money"
Great value for the money, there is a overnight parking lot a block away which saves you money also. Very small room was the only thing that I was not excited about, overall a good experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great Stay, Will do it again! Food was marginal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Value at Convenient Location"
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The price, convenience of location and inclusion breakfast made for an excellent value. Although the noise in the hallway was not excessive, it was easily heard in the room. The room was among the smallest I have experienced in years of travel and would have been unacceptable if I had not been alone or if […] I had needed to spend significant non-sleeping time in the room. The comfortable queen bed and nice desk consumed all of the floor space making it necessary to open the ironing board in the bathroom and leaving little room to move about. The hotel was very clean, even though I made the reservation my partner could go in the hotel first just with a call. The service is excellent. Breakfast super yummy. The location is very near from Michigan avenue and downtown. The only thing is that the bedrooms are very tiny but that's what makes the hotel unique.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"perfect for the budget!"
cheaper than surrounding hotels, two blocks from michigan avenue and very nice staff... small rooms can get you claustrophobic, but it wasn't trouble for us since we spent more time shopping anyway. very clean. the best small hotel indeedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
below average....too noisyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Pro: Excellent location. Hot breakfast. Clean room. Cons: Thin walls (you can hear everything in the halls). Thermostats sucks (auto setting only, it's always fighting itself). Small room, no chairs. Good value for Chicago area, and if you don't plan on staying in the room long.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was nice. breakfast was very good. Staff was so-so. The valet was not happy when I left a few things in my car and needed to get them out. They seemed as though I was being unreasonable and asked if they could get it. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want any one rummaging thru my car. The room was soooooooo tiny. I wasn't happy […] paying 167.00 for a room that I could spread my arms out and touch both walls. Overall, we survived but would not go back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"World's smallest hotel room"
We travel quite often, and this has to be the tiniest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Barely enough room to walk around the bed. No place to set suitcases. No vanity or shelf in the bathroom to put your toiletries. Location was decent. Service was fine. Good breakfast. The guy working the breakfast room had a little attitude going, but we all have […] our days. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location at a great price"
The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to almost everything. Rooms are very small and the bed is short but it is clean and well maintained and you can not beat it for the price. "Rating of hotel"
I stayed here last year as I was attending a conference. I found the hotel to be very nice and the registration staff very helpful and friendly. this time it was a little different. The registration staff was not so friendly, not really unfriendly, but no one greeted me right away, in fact I stood at the desk for several minutes before I asked for help […] to check in. Later in the evening, around 9:00 pm, the carpeting was being cleaned and didn't finish until well past 10:00 pm. This was not pleasant as the halls are small and it sounded like they were right in my room. I would suggest this type of cleaning be done during the day. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel close everything"
Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Room was alittle small but we weren't there that much for it to be a big concern. Breakfast was really good and best part it was free. Parking was nice they unloaded the car, parked it, and brought it back when left. Overall great experienceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good value hotel in great location"
Given I booked at the last minute, the price was good. The room was a little small, but functional. the air con worked well, but was unfortunately directed at the bed. Wifi was included and was fast and reliable. Breakfast was better than expected, although the restaurant was too small for the number of patrons. Also, with a little more thought on the […] arrangement of food items, queuing would be minimised. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Would stay here again"
The hotel is in a great location - nice safe area, close to shopping, walking distance to many of the sights, and close to the subway. It was a very small room, but we weren't there but to sleep and shower. Folks at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The breakfast offerings were wonderful and clearly very popular as it was busy each morning. "It was okay."
Hotel staff was very nice and informative. I liked how they booked tours right from the spot, although they left out some vital information. It wasn't a big deal. The room itself was kind of strange. The noise to the outside was city-like, and expected, but the incredible noise to the hallway and other rooms on the floor was a bit overwhelming which […] prevented me from sleeping well one night. The breakfast was mediocre at best, and the set-up for the breakfast was made to be congested, just like a city I suppose. Overall, it was fine. I would probably try another hotel in chicago if I were to go back, but if it were the best deal around it'd be fine. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I had a hard time choosing a hotel because everything in downtown Chicago is pretty darn expensive. The hotels that I was originally looking at I decided against because I either found reports of bedbugs in them or the reviewers said that they were not worth the price. I chose the Holiday Inn Express because of the excellent reviews and was not disappointed. […] The rooms were very clean and the hotel staff went out of their way for us. Super friendly and helpful. The rooms were tiny, but I expected that from the price that I paid. The original Hotel Casa was built in the 30's, so the rooms are probably a reflection of the average size for back then. We didn't spend alot of time in it during the day anyway. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This is the second time I stayed here. Its in a very good location to magnificent mile and other attractions. Also very close to bus station. "Good location but tiny room"
The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was close to what we wanted to do but the room was unbelievable small. "Perfect place to stay"
I really liked this hotel. It's two short blocks from the Magnificent Mile, which means that it's reasonably quiet. Great restaurants all over the place and within one to five blocks. Starbucks across the street and Trader Joe's around the corner. It feels like one of the boutique hotels without the high price. "Small but adequate"
The room was small, which I had read in other reviews, but not too bad. The toiletries, kleenex and toilet paper were sporadically refreshed. The breakfast was ok, but nothing great. We came to Chicago for a one-night stay and picked this hotel because of its heart-of-the-Loop location and affordability, neither of which disappointed. "TINY space, but great price!"
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express/Hotel Cass for a wedding we had over 4th of July weekend downtown Chicago. We booked this hotel based on location and price. We needed to be close to the ceremony and reception, but also get a good price. Price was best we could find, valet parking was less a day than if we had to park at a parking garage, and location […] was perfect. We were surprised how small the room was though. I can't really express how small the room was, but it did give us a place to sleep so I can't complain too much. Bathroom was the smallest I've ever stayed in at a hotel, but again it had a shower, toilet and sink and that's all we really needed. I would stay here again, but might see if we could get a King bed. I don't know if that's possible, but maybe it'd be a larger room. Staff was great, service great, and a Starbucks across the street. We got a cinnamon roll at the hotel breakfast bar and drinks across the street. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Stayed there after a concert at Northerly Isle. It is an older hotel so the rooms are small, but very clean with a quaint atmosphere. Service was very good, had Bath & Body amenities. The staff at Holiday Inn Express was exceptional. I would give every one of them a 10 out of 5, from the desk staff, to the cleaning crew, and especially the men who handled our luggage and obtained cabs for us.
