The hotel is about an 8 minute walk from the El, which is GREAT! The room was clean, the water was hot, and the a.c. was cool. Everything was as expected.Our only critism was how loud the restaurant/bar was. We could hear it on the second floor, which is where our room was. Very loud when you come into the lobby too. On our third night we had very loud neighbors that partied until 1 pm. Walls are thin.

t was good, but the hotel front desk person misdirected my party to our location downtown. We ended up walking around for 2 hours trying to find the place. Also, the eggs at breakfast were not acceptable. They tasted like egg beaters. The room was awesome and all tat was included was good except that the bathroom fan did not work.

I am in hotels over 200 nights a year, and this Holiday Inn Express easily met my expectation. Room was clean, comfortable and modern. Bar Louie downstairs is great and the breakfast spread is more than expected. Convenient to O'Hare and the CTA Blue Line. I would gladly stay here again.

My first time traveling to Chicago. In town on business for trade show and the front desk manager was very accommodating and helpful in my requests. Menu selection at the bar/restaurant/grill downstairs could be improved. Many restaurants around, but be prepared to pay a lot of cab fare to get around.

Requested a non-smoking king through hotels.com and when I got there, there were none available except for a handicapped accessible room. All other kings were smoking rooms. The handicapped accessible room was just a little awkward for me, with the shower stream hitting me below the stomach, it was that low. Expensive but good location. I'd stay here again. Beware parking is $25/night unless you are able to snag a street spot, just make sure you leave before 7am or put money in the meter. Also per friendly (for $50/night-ouch) which was a must for us.

The staff was very helpful and courteous. The restaurant was fine with simple and tasty food. I was in a workshop held in the hotel and was pleased with the amenities it had all I needed. I didn't want to go downtown and there was a train station across the road if I had wanted to.

Very nice hotel. One of the things some people may not like is that they still offer smoking rooms to their customers. Personally, it doesn't bother me even though I don't smoke. The rooms are very clean, the bed was very comfortable. Overall, it was a great stay. Unfortunately, there were a couple of "problems" with my stay that were out of the hotel's […] control. DirecTV had a problem and the hotel lost several channels of their TV service and they had an internet router fail causing the wireless internet service to go out. They did get the wireless internet fixed before I checked out (only took them a few hours to fix), but the DirecTV problem was not fixed yet when I left. The high speed wireless internet at this location is excellent. The DirecTV service is just "ok" ... There's only about 30 channels that you have to choose from and they are all in analog signal, so the picture isn't the greatest. Overall, I'd recommend the hotel to others! Read more

I was taking an early flight out of O'Hare so I looked for a hotel near the last few stops on the Blue Line. I arrived late, around 11. I had tried calling the hotel in the afternoon, but nobody picked up. The people at the front desk didn't seem especially happy to see me when I arrived either. They told me that they were out of non-smoking rooms. I […] was tired, so I grudgingly accepted a smoking room. The air inside in the room was not as bad as the air in the hallway, but it still managed to permeate my clothes with an odd smell. A couple of the lightbulbs were out. Next door was having an argument which unfortunately was audible through the (closed) connecting door. So I'm not too happy about how things went. Official check-in time for the hotel was 3:00 PM, but we showed up a little early - just after 2:00 PM. When we got to the front desk, the lady lied to me and said "I'm sorry, but I have no rooms available until 3:00." They were "kind" enough to let us store our bags so we could go ahead and visit the city, but it wound up being a big inconvenience […] for nothing. NEVER quote the policy to customers when you know you've had clean rooms available since 10:00 AM that morning! I've shown up early to many hotels and never had a problem before this one. This is unacceptable - not sure who thought it was. When we did get to the room late that night, it was ok. The bed was superbly comfortable, but there were smudges on the sheets that showed that they hadn't been washed or cleanly fit. The chair in the room had a stain in the middle of it. We reserved our room based on online reviews, price, and having a pool. The Holiday Inn uniform of the woman helping us was way too small and the Amy Winehouse makup was really unprofessional. Then she waited to be addressed before looking up from her computer. While checking in, a sign said the pool was out of service. Being my primary reason for selecting […] this hotel, I asked for how long and was rudely told "for as long as it takes." The settings for our room AC were either full blast or off. There was a sign in the parking lot saying vehicles must be registered at the front desk or be towed at owner expense. I went back to ask and he same woman from earlier told me in a condescending tone that it's only to scare away people trying to park there and I probably won't have to worry about it. The room had dust everywhere, the sheets were stained, and there even was tape holding parts of the window together. The layer of sticky grime on the back ledge of the shower made me sick. The complementary breakfast saved this from a 1-star rating. The food was excellent and the service was incredible and the atmosphere was relaxing. If not for the strict budget and having already paid, we would've left immediately. I will never stay at this hotel again and will probably never stay at another Holiday Inn anywhere else. Read more

First, the hotel told me that Hotels.com requested a "smoking" room for me, which was not true. When I objected to the smoking room, I was told that my reservation was switched to a non-smoking room. The Holiday Inn is located very close to the blue line, which is a 30ish minute ride into downtown Chicago. The blue line is open 24hrs which is great if you're going to be out late. The room was clean, on site restaurant was good, the staff were ok but could have been more helpful. I would stay again.

Not a friendly staff. Room needs updating. Have to cross a major intersection to get to the train. Buffett breakfast not stocked well. Waitress never came back to check on us and we could of used more coffe. There was cereal but no milk, plates were dirty. Not going there again.

this was my second time staying here for a business trip. the location near the airport is what made me choose this hotel in the first place. when i stayed last year everything was great. i would have recommended it to anyone. however this time i was disappointed. the shuttle bus from the airport never arrived to bring me to the hotel, or if it did, […] it was over an hour late and i had to get another ride in order to make it to my work on time. the room was not clean -- there was hair in the bathrroom. maybe i did not notice this the first time, but there were not many channels on the tv. overall, i did not feel as comfortable there as i did on my first stay. since i go to chicago a lot for work, i will probably try a different hotel next time.
